What are the latest facts on this story? Was the father a total monster that led her daughter to suicide? Once we know all the facts some of the comments on here don't hold any water.
The details of the handwritten suicide note revealed that Blasberg had attempted suicide many times in the months leading up to her death, and that she admitted to being lonely and feeling tormented by the lack of success in her golf career
Her father used to call her a "fucking dumbass" often when she couldn't get a golf shot down as witnesses and her friends told the police! SO obviously her father was a big reason she committed suicide, he certainly wasn't helping her!
"She was a 25 year old girl, and they are crazy in general." Why did he say that? Would a grieving father make a statement like this? Sounds so unnatural.
Chin up, You sound like like a hard worker and i'm sure you'll pull through. I'm sorry i'm not a religious person but rather than praying i hope the very best for you.
the dad calls her crazy to the media, what does he call her when he's upset and out of control? complains that now he has to bury her, wasn't in his plans. already talking about her life story would be interesting, as if to profit from this tragedy with book deal. on the outside he tries to seem there's nothing to blame for her death and that everything was perfect. on the inside he's hiding the fact that he feels she was weak (like most 25 yr crazy girls) and took her own life.
The father basically trashed her and all 25 yr. old girls as "crazy." No!!! I bet he was mentioned in her suicide note that Dr. Hess stole from the crime scene!! Best to mail the note to the police or a copy of it to avoid this sort of tampering. Was one of the Olsen twins at the scene? Oh, no, that was Heath Ledger.
there is a lot of pressure on young people these days. I am 25, in law school. I take xanax. Sometimes it seems no mater how hard you work, its never good enough. But i just pray for God to keep me up.
We had a student expire while riding a bus home one day. He was young considered healthy and had a bleed it happens from time to time. We are not guaranteed a long life it is why we should appreciate what we have that is good and not look for the bad we can always find the bad and that will have you looking for more bad. Look for the good and you will plant crops go fishing buy gifts. Folks criticize a union of people of various ages they have no guarantee who will expire first.
Daddy Dearest, Daddy Dumbest, Daddy Coldest, Daddy Not So Supportive, Daddy didn't seem to miss Erica all that much. Another tragedy, whatever the reason, murder, overdose, natural, who knows? Eventually some conclusion will be arrived at and some light shed on this sad ending of another young life. My condolences to the Erica's family and friends.
That's a shame to see one of our young, up and coming LPGA players die. In other news, the LPGA is dying from the influx of asian immigrants no one cares to watch . . .
@daTruChosen No one. Which is why you can't even find LPGA Tournaments broadcast on the Major networks, only on Golf channel. Yet, the PGA and Senior PGA both get Major network airtime on the weekends. Who looks stupid now ?
What the hell is her Dad talking about? If it was my kid, I wouldn't be talking about "how you raise a kid". john123wayne seems to have a thought in the right direction.
my hunch? her father was a total prick to deal with and when she placed 44th in her last tournament in mexico, he read her the riot act and she broke. i mean seriously, her father is already putting a spin on it. first, he doesnt seem shattered as i would be. second, he is saying, "she isnt immune to the pressure of golf....etc". i have lived with narcissistic personalites and they are hard to deal with; always critical . i think he drove her to suicide. my condolescenses to all. r.i.p.
Wow...that's an awful lot to read into a tragic situation right after it happens, on the basis of a few comments from the father and from totally limited info. Even if you're right, doesn't it seem to wrong to speculate like this with the family in the middle of shock and grieving--and even worse if you're wrong? Accusing her father of driving her to suicide...Jesus. This kind of accusation is easy to make, unprovable as yet, and if wrong, is a really monstrous thing to say.
@emncaity a lot of parents drive their children to suicide...u act as if its rare to find horrible parents in the world....there are ten's of millions of bad parents! Parents who are clueless to the fact that their children are depressed and suicidal, that their parenting is not helping and even hurting their children and driving them closer to suicide and a million other issues. Too many bad parents in the world!
Depends on what you mean by "a lot." What's the percentage? Or are you just guessing? It's not "rare to find horrible parents," and of course I agree there are "too many bad parents." But unless you lack critical thinking skills and like to advertise that fact on the Internet, you really can't make the leap from some general presumption like that about a worldwide population to a declaration that this specific father essentially killed this daughter.
@emncaity yes, it is monstrous, but if u werent so naive, than maybe u'd open your fuckin eyes to reality. he called his dead daughter crazy, and like what many people have said, what kind of parent calls their own dead kid crazy? this sick son of a bitch probably drove her to suicide. stupid parents that wanna get money from their own kids, howa bout him getting a fuckin job?
Maybe before you call somebody "naive" and tell people you don't even know to "open your fuckin eyes to reality," you ought to know more about both the situation you're referring to and the person you're talking to. I absolutely guarantee you I've seen more "fuckin reality" than you have, if you're talking about hardness and cruelty. But the real point is, you know only what you've read in the media, and yet you're ready to call the father a killer. Talk about naive.
@emncaity well u know what, go listen to the interview again. the dad is does not one bit remorseful. insted, he calls the daughter "crazy" and he goes on about this is a case where the parent has done nothing wrong and the kid just does this. really? youre calling me a naive. geez, what is wrong with your common sense.
I should say, though, I agree her father is unusually calm, although you can't read too much into that sort of thing; juries mistakenly do it all the time. Still, I have five daughters of my own, and I can tell you there's not a chance in hell I'd ever consent to an interview anytime remotely near the time one of them met with this kind of fate.
@john123wayne maybe he's reacting clinically as that's his way of holding back his emotions, you can't possibly know anything from one snippet of a press conference unless you knew him very very well. you'd do better to keep your opinions on sensitive matters like this to yourself. the last sentence you wrote would have been perfect on it's own. peace
@CelticDragon0 Don't bother with Tea Baggers they are delusional! These are the same idiots who claim America is a Christian Nation yet they act like they do...Which to me is no surprise.
