Clinton dealt with a recession in 1993 (republicans always have a recession around the end of their terms), but it wasn't nearly as bad. It took him awhile though to get things rolling again. If there was a recession in 1993, it meant Clinton wasn't quite doing that in his first 6 months.

Obama is continuing Bush's bail out of the banks and Wall Street firms which didn't work under Bush and won't work under Obama. Now the banks are flush with cash and are refusing to lend money to job creators. 50 million American lives have been lost to abortion since 1973 and Planned Parenthood has been a driving force behind this mass killing. Sotomayor was quoted on numerous occasions making racist, sexist remarks. Calling her a racist was not necessarily inaccurate. Most Americans are opposed to gay marriage. Obama and Biden publicly oppose gay marriage. The Republican Party is out of favor now because it campaigned for years as the party of limited government and then when it took power in 2001, it led the nation on the biggest government spending binge of all time. It also led America to a big recession.
And hell, regarding being incited to kill, Leon Czolgosz, who shot William McKinley in 1901, was basically directly inflamed by Emma Goldman. Her intention was never for him to kill McKinley, but he iterpreted her exceptionally firery rhetoric that way. It wasn't her fault, but perhaps if she had taken a more measured, rational tack, instead of declairing "there are, however, some potentates I would kill by any and all means at my disposal. They are Ignorance, Superstition, and Bigotry."

In 2012, the Democrats' base may stay home when they realize that Obama lied to them when he said 95% of the American people won't get a tax increase. Nationwide, taxes--local, state and federal-- are about to head into the stratosphere and all are affected except the super rich (of course).
And by the way, I seriously doubt Booth would have shot Lincoln if Lincoln had been a Democrat, if Czolgosz would have killed McKinley if McKinley hadn't been such a friend of the trusts, and that Oswald would have shot Kennedy if not for the Bay of Pigs. The only one of the four sucessful assasins, Guiteau, who did not have a political motivation, was certifiably insane. He wanted to help his "friend," Chester A. Arthur. Which came as quite a surprise to Arthur.
When the Code Pink and other opponents of Bush talked about Bush being a "war criminal" who should be sent for trial to Baghdad for killing Iraqi women and children, they might have incited the mentally unbalanced to kill the President. And did Media Matters attack Code Pink for "hate speech?" Strangely, no. I guess Media Matters is only concerned with "hate speech" when it is speech in opposition to Obama and the Democratic Party and its plan for a one party state.
And out comes the conspiracy theories. Media Matters is an organization with ties to Liberal think tanks. It is an unabashidly Liberal organization. It specifically says, on it's website, that it exists to monitor Conservative media. There are equivalent organizations on the other side, which you could find with a few quick clicks. The problem is that there isn't the same level of visciousness so front and center. The Liberal equivalent to Limbaugh is probably Jon Stewart at this point.
So, then, "hate speech" which might lead to the assassination of the President isn't really a problem unless Media Matters is in favor of that President.
And Jon Stewart, regardless of whether you think he's right or not, does not reach the levels of anger, blind hatred and hypocritical "our shit doesn't stink" that Limbaugh, Quinn, Hannity, Coulter, Malkin, Ingraham, and, God help us all, Savage, reach on a daily basis. Therin lies the problem. The fringe, the Code Pinks and PETAs and 9-11 Truthers (the ones who think Bush and "the corporations" did it), are just that, the Fringe. Limaugh and Hannity are front and center, every day.
Your side has a near monopoly on political power in this country. But it's not enough, is it? But the beautiful thing is America never works well with single party government. Look at what a mess Obama is making of things. Everything he touches turns to crap. It's called the reverse Midas effect. Nobody denies the foetus' humanity nor its potential to be a human being at some point. It's just no more a human being for the first few weeks of gestation than a few ccs of semen or a single ovum is - at least medically speaking. In fact the foetus at that point bears more resemblance to a tumour than a human being. Should we ban all forms of cancer treatment? Perhaps we should outlaw masturbation too?

Bush survived his first term on the foundation Clinton built. Obama has to work on top of Bush's foundation.

Clinton's focus was jobs creation. It's practically all he thought about. And it paid off. There were millions of jobs created under Clinton. Obama, on the other hand, is focused of seemingly everything but jobs creation. He's working on health care, global warming, escalating Bush's endless wars policies and the jobs are disappearing. A lot of the people working in Obama's administration are from the Clinton administration actually. One example-Tim Geithner.
Clinton dealt with a recession in 1993 (republicans always have a recession around the end of their terms), but it wasn't nearly as bad. It took him awhile though to get things rolling again. If there was a recession in 1993, it meant Clinton wasn't quite doing that in his first 6 months.
Obama is dealing with the worst economic meltdown since the great depression.

Obama is continuing Bush's bail out of the banks and Wall Street firms which didn't work under Bush and won't work under Obama. Now the banks are flush with cash and are refusing to lend money to job creators. A two week embryo is a human life at its very earliest stage. There is no comparison between an innocent human life and a condemned prisoner sent to the electric chair. The condemned prisoner has been deemed unworthy of life by the state because of a crime he has been convicted of. There is no reason why those two death industries should not be compared and contrasted. Abraham Lincoln and John Kennedy were not killed because of "hate speech." Both men were politicians who had angered certain segments of American society and they were assassinated largely because of that anger.

Yes, and I suppose all those people calling Abraham Lincoln a tyrant and a dictator had nothing to do with the hatred directed towards him by John Wilkes Booth? The man actually shouted "sic semper tyranus," the Virginia state motto, after shooting him.
Nevertheless, I do not advocate blocking or removing the ability for the filth peddlers to spew their nonsense. I agree with Voltaire's assertion, "I disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

The man who shot Reagan and almost killed him had stalked Jimmy Carter for months intending to kill him. Perhaps these assassins are after the office itself and have no political motivations?

That doesn't change the fact that what they say DOES have a negative impact, and does not serve any actual purpose other than to piss people off for no good reason. And it doesn't even serve their political ends. The Republican Party is currently out of favor with all minorities, women, non-Christians, and gay people. All increasingly large and vocal aspects of the US populace. Calling Sotomayor a "racist" and gay marriage "dangerous" isn't doing them any favors.

Sotomayor was quoted on numerous occasions making racist, sexist remarks. Calling her a racist was not necessarily inaccurate. Most Americans are opposed to gay marriage. Obama and Biden publicly oppose gay marriage. The Republican Party is out of favor now because it campaigned for years as the party of limited government and then when it took power in 2001, it led the nation on the biggest government spending binge of all time. It also led America to a big recession.

And hell, regarding being incited to kill, Leon Czolgosz, who shot William McKinley in 1901, was basically directly inflamed by Emma Goldman. Her intention was never for him to kill McKinley, but he iterpreted her exceptionally firery rhetoric that way. It wasn't her fault, but perhaps if she had taken a more measured, rational tack, instead of declairing "there are, however, some potentates I would kill by any and all means at my disposal. They are Ignorance, Superstition, and Bigotry."

Your second and third posts make that abundantly clear. You already believe that Planned Parenthood is equivalent to the Nazi Germany (which, by the way, my grandfather, who went into Dachau with the first expiditionary groups of the 6th Air Force, and saw lampshades made out of human skin, may disagree with). And look at the voting patterns in 2008, and tell me again that it's all about big government? I know the fallacy of the "Center-Right" nation is a popular meme, but it still isn't true. A relevant quote: "there are three sides to every argument. Your side, my side, and the truth." The country is not Center-Right or Center-Left. It is CENTER. And the average minority voter could care less about "Big Government." They care about what they perceive as racism or bigotry (NOTE: "PERCEIVE").

When the GOP became a big government party, they alienated their base which had supported them because they claimed to be for smaller government. So in 2008, the base stayed home from the polls. In 2012, the Democrats' base may stay home when they realize that Obama lied to them when he said 95% of the American people won't get a tax increase. Nationwide, taxes--local, state and federal-- are about to head into the stratosphere and all are affected except the super rich (of course).

And by the way, I seriously doubt Booth would have shot Lincoln if Lincoln had been a Democrat, if Czolgosz would have killed McKinley if McKinley hadn't been such a friend of the trusts, and that Oswald would have shot Kennedy if not for the Bay of Pigs. The only one of the four sucessful assasins, Guiteau, who did not have a political motivation, was certifiably insane. He wanted to help his "friend," Chester A. Arthur. Which came as quite a surprise to Arthur.

When the Code Pink and other opponents of Bush talked about Bush being a "war criminal" who should be sent for trial to Baghdad for killing Iraqi women and children, they might have incited the mentally unbalanced to kill the President. And did Media Matters attack Code Pink for "hate speech?" Strangely, no. I guess Media Matters is only concerned with "hate speech" when it is speech in opposition to Obama and the Democratic Party and its plan for a one party state.

And out comes the conspiracy theories. Media Matters is an organization with ties to Liberal think tanks. It is an unabashidly Liberal organization. It specifically says, on it's website, that it exists to monitor Conservative media. There are equivalent organizations on the other side, which you could find with a few quick clicks. The problem is that there isn't the same level of visciousness so front and center. The Liberal equivalent to Limbaugh is probably Jon Stewart at this point.

And Jon Stewart, regardless of whether you think he's right or not, does not reach the levels of anger, blind hatred and hypocritical "our shit doesn't stink" that Limbaugh, Quinn, Hannity, Coulter, Malkin, Ingraham, and, God help us all, Savage, reach on a daily basis. Therin lies the problem. The fringe, the Code Pinks and PETAs and 9-11 Truthers (the ones who think Bush and "the corporations" did it), are just that, the Fringe. Limaugh and Hannity are front and center, every day.

Your side has a near monopoly on political power in this country. But it's not enough, is it? But the beautiful thing is America never works well with single party government. Look at what a mess Obama is making of things. Everything he touches turns to crap. It's called the reverse Midas effect. So it will be Obama himself and not Limbaugh and Savage who will be responsible for the Republican comeback in 2010.

Ah, so we're at the "we'll show you" stage, eh? I hate to break it to you, but the degredation of Obama's poll numbers? It's being matched by a simultaneous degredation of the GOP's numbers. The electorate hates EVERYONE at this point. But they hate the GOP more. And the GOP just alienated many, many women and pretty much all Latinos with the Sotomayor thing. Wanna bet the DNC picks up 1 to 3 senate seats and 3 to 6 House seats?
