  • Coraline is one of those special movies that captures the attention of the audience. I'll definitely have my children watch this In years to come, they'll love It!

  • look at coraline's face

  • Youtube was A LOT better when there weren't any ads -__-

  • some say Avatar is the best movie ever. but I have Avatar on dvd and I don't even feel like watching it, in the other hand Coraline I love it, I like ot watch it over and over and over, it has like a spiritual thing that makes me think I'm inside the movie, is one of the best ever in my own opinion.

  • I like both the book and the movie, I just like the movie better because of the sybolism of the movie was more appealing to me. Neil Gaiman is an EFFing legend. :D

  • In the book coraline had brown hair.

  • in the book she had brown not blue but i noticed in the movie there was a picture of coraline and her family and she had brown hair in that photo but of coarse that means she died it

  • @thebells7 now that is correct

  • totally

  • None of her family members have blue hair anyway.

  • I saw this movie with my friend too. But I didn't think it was scary, I loved it!!!!!!!!!!

  • ive saw it in 3D its scary i went with my friend shae

  • Actually, the book revolves more around the concept of perfection. When Coraline is confronted b the 'old man upstairs' he tries to convince her to stay, but she tells him that the perfection wont 'mean anything'. This can be taken in so many ways and Niel Gaiman is an amazing author. Of course, there are numerous other concepts held up in the book that aren't in the movie.

  • I am reminded of "The Thief of Always" Clive Barker's book that was written a decade before "Coraline" and also Pleasure Island in "Pinocchio". What these classic books have in common is the idea of children being given whatever they want. Only they are made to pay a terrible price for it, one they are never warned of in advance: they have to give up who they are.

  • OMG 1:46 HOW HARD they make the movie

  • Actually it's like movable plastic but it dries and molds just like clay. The clothes are hand sewn by designers. And their hair is real sewing string. It takes hundreds of feet of string just to make a one inch wig.

  • wat dues it mean stop-motion 3D?? i thought it was just stop-motion. i cant wait for this to come out in the UK. it look amazing!!!

  • It Means Stop Motion 3D As In, The Film Is Stop Motion AND It's In 3D.

  • ...Oooooh lol...oh that was dumb of me wasnt it lol. wooow i SO wanna see this now!! cheers xx ^_^

  • What does stop motion mean?

  • It's Those Animations Where They Have Little Clay Models, And They Take Pictures Of Every Millisecond Of Every Movement, And All Together It looks Like Movement.

Like At 1:45, They Show The Guy Moving The Figure By A Millimeter And Taking A Photo.

  • actually they aren't clay they are movable plastics with armatures and hair made of wires and clothing with wires

  • Oh yeah, thanks, that's claymation I'm thinking of. My mistake :3

  • @sihinta: They take individual film frames of miniature posable figures, and slightly move the appendages of each figure, an arm or leg, per every frame taken by the camera. 24 frames will give a filmmaker 1 second of film, and will give the illusion that the figure is moving, walking, talking, opening their mouth, or eyes, or moving their head, etc. This is called stop-motion. For this movie, they shot the film with two cameras, which are closely aligned, but somewhat off, creating 3D.

  • haha "your mommy may not be perfect but. . ." she doesn't capture childrens' souls. lol.

  • @10zengirl10 I see you have'nt met my mother.

  • Saw the movie in 3d and loved it :)

  • "Your mommy may not be perfect, but she's the perfect mommy for you." "I agree, that's the message!" Christ, these people are dumb. Do they completely miss the deeper resonance of the two mothers and what they represent psychologically for a young girl on the brink of adulthood? Have they never read a fairy tale before? I CAN'T TAKE IT, I REALLY CAN'T.

  • @lustyrevelwenches ahhhhhhhhhhhhh

    wut

  • @lustyrevelwenches Do you know Valerie and her week of wonders? Shoud me a movie for you.

  • its the armature inside the PUPPET not doll, fool!

  • la804o, you have excellent tastes in favorites and quotes. So why are you so prudish when it comes to a fantasy film? And why did you fixate on that one small part of the movie? Just curious.

  • The movie was good/okay, its good/okay/great for adults/teens, okay for preteens, questionable for kids 8-10, and plain old scary/going-to-cry for ages 2-7

  • I haven't seen it yet. I've heard it's good and my friend is reading the book. She hasn't told if it's good or not but she reads it like crazy so that means it's good.

  • when does this come out??

  • it came out like a month ago

  • lol fail

  • It's online, if you don't mind mediocre quality, at

    watch-movies-links(.)net

    FYI- so is "Watchmen"

  • i saw it in theaters its so coooool!!!!

  • I readin the book but I am just a preteen right now

  • i read the book a few years back

  • i read this book its realy great

  • What the heck? Look at the second from the bottom of the related videos! How is Happy Tree Friends related? lol

  • This movie is WAAAAY too marketed. I'm sick of seeing all the previews for this on TV. It's like every other commercial.

  • This movie is amazing!

  • i love the movie cant wait for it to be on dvd~!!!

  • then your kids are going to grow up with alot of problems .. expose them to as much as you can while there young ..im sure you wont take my word for it .. so .. go watch the view or something

  • @oddsubstance i was 8 when i first wathced the movie and loved it it aint scary it is awesome

  • i saw kids watching the new jason movie... this cant be worse

  • by kids you mean pre teens right? or do u mean 8 and 7 year olds

  • no, i saw small children 4-5 and babies there O_o

  • watch that ladys eyes they turn red for a split second

  • Awesome movie

  • this movie rocked me and mi gurl friend wacthe this on v day

  • Henry Selick made this movie, and Tim Burton had nothing to do with it.

However, I admit that this movie does seem alot like Tim's other movies (nightmare before christmas, corpse bride), with the darkness and animation/claymation i mean.

  • i watched it and it was soo good

  • didnt tim burton direct it ?

  • selick was the one who directed nightmare before christmas

when they worked on that movie together.

he also directed this movie but burton had nothing to do with it.

tim burton is coming out with his own movie with a similar style as this. i think it's called "9".

  • tim burton made all of this nightmare before christmas and this. nightmare before christmas has been my fav movie sence i was 5. i know evreything about it i doupt ur the big expert on it.

  • i don't care how much you know just go on imdb. why would someone make a movie and not ask for any credit??

tim burton had nothing to do with coraline.

also, selick was the one who directed and animated nightmare before christmas.

he's the real genius behind so-called "tim burton's" stop motion animation.

you've been wasting a lot of time if you still don't know this.

  • I tottally agree! Everyone keeps saying this is a tim burton and i keep having to correct them!

  • this movie was great!

  • then david selick is the real master and not burton

  • amazing. u gotta watch it in 3D

  • This was awesome, everyone see it.

  • that movie was creepy! lol

  • It's not Tim Burton! it's David Selick!

  • no lol actually is Henry Selick :P

  • i loooooved the movie

  • I like the novel better....

  • same here! i read that book in sixth grade haha

  • My son got scared a bit but very good movie. My boy is six lol

  • dude it was reallyy good. but creepy&&weird..?

haha, i actually liked it though.

  • Just saw it! awesome

  • i also just saw it

  • I just saw this movie. It was awesome but it was SOOOOOOO weird! But a good weird!

  • Comment removed

  • I Loved It I Saw It The Day It Came Out and Saw It In 3D WATCH IT!!!!!

  • I wanna see it but was confused when they said director of Nightmare before Xmas.. pretty sure Tim burton made that? :S

    Neeewayay

  • Tim Burton is directing the movie and bringing the vision to life, but the novella was written by Neil Gamen. :)

  • actually Henry Selick directed both nightmare and coraline. yes tim burton didn't direct nightmare before christmas, a little part of me died :(

    yeah, it's all on imdb

  • yeah i know :(

but he did write and produce it

  • Truthfully, almost all of Tim Burton's stop motion films have been his concept, but not under his direction. The exception is James and the Giant Peach. He produced that one but somehow still visually influenced it.

I wish that Henry and him could find another story like Coraline and work on it together. Just this time, no corny one liners. I 'll watc SNL for that!

  • If you'd actually bothered to read the cover of the NMBC dvd, or wikipedia'd it, you'd know otherwise.

That's the trouble, isn't it. Poor Henry Selick, just 'cuz 'Tim Burton'' is anywhere near his work, he gets all the credit. Tim is a brilliant man, but I wish he'd make a big announcement so as not to be credited by the world. He /wrote the poem/ NMBC is based on. Not everything grimdark is done by him, you'd do well to get out of that mindset.

  • i looove tim burton

    but this is not him'

    its david selick

  • HENRY Selick

  • even though it seems alot like Tim Burton, its not. Its David Selick.

  • Henry Selick

  • ohhh lol yeah Henry Selick***

    thanks :P

  • oh didnt tim burton have something to do with it though?

  • ur a retard

  • faget

  • Coraline was awesome! It was very interesting. People who are thinking of watching it, should watch it. It's a great movie, in my opinion.:)

  • wow this movie is trippen i saw it today its trippen

  • iwant tosee it! :D

  • i thought it was made by tim burton just as the nightmare before xmas

  • you're an idiot.

'gayest' movie? If it was the gayest movie it would be overly happy, and that wouldn't really make a rated R movie now would it. Don't be so moronic.

  • Thank you, someone finally remembers the ACTUAL meaning of "gay". And I bet that guy was so scared during the whole thing he probably crapped himself. So now he makes fun of it...

  • Thanks, you're right, I AM happy right now. Have a gay day!

  • lol fuck u

  • you stupid.

  • i have heard about it and me and my friend r planning to see it this week!!

  • I JUST LOVE,LOVE THIS MOVIE! Sadly the theater in my town doesn't provide it under 3D!!! so i'm planning to go out of town 2 c again but this time in 3d!!!! my 3 yr old loved it!!! she didn't even get out of her seat!

  • everybody in ma school says its GAY but i dont beleive them i like it :D

  • has anyone in your school even read the book to call it gay? i re-read the book several times! it had a very neat story line to it, the kids at your school has problems if they say it's gay

  • "the kids has a problem" yes you "has' a problem its gramatical

  • Yes, I saw it today without 3D... I thought this was good really to focus on the plot instead of seeing the new method and being distracted. but I'd like to see it like that now.

  • i just saw the movie and there was an old lady with a big boobs with seashells!!!!

  • i know! i couldnt stop laughing !

  • I loved this movie. It gave me a kind of dreamscape feeling,. It was a good feeling.

It's probably a good movie though

  • I loved it, it was cute

And I loved the 3D-ness of it all lol

Sorta creepy in some parts tho for like kids

  • thats freaky in the weird way

  • The over all movie was pretty good. It leaves a lasting effect on your sorta like a bad acid trip. It would have been much better in 3d. It will most definitly be a cult classic among drug users and acid trippers. My kids liked it so that's all that matters. Although a word of warning...it has some pretty scary parts in it for little ones. The other mom was creepy.

  • yeah ur ryt

  • me, my sister & her boyfriend went to see Coraline yesterday. after the movie we were all like, "that was trippy" we loved this movie. a couple laugh out loud parts that got the entire theatre laughing. to me overall, Coraline gets 11 out of 10.

  • Im about to go see this. I love this stuff. And stop motion is amazing.

  • i saw this 3d! ^^

  • me too! awesomest movie i have ever seen

  • I loved it! It was definately a great movie(of course, I didn't see it in 3-D though). I liked how fun it was, it just really gripped me! ^^

  • Should I see this in 2d or 3d?

  • It really didn't make that much of a difference to me...nothing really 'popped' out like I expected, so...

If you had the choice, though, I'd go with 3D.

  • Oh well I'll still go see it in 3d! XD So Umm was the moive good? I read the book!

  • I'll admit, it's a bit slow at the beginning, but when the plot kicks up it's amazing!

  • The movie was spectacular, though I can't say how it compares to the book since I haven't read it...many people that have read the book and seen the movie still agree that it was wonderful! I'm sure you'll enjoy it, too! ^_^

  • It looks good! And well I'm pretty sure I will like the movie as much as the book!

  • i saw it today in 3-D it was awesome:D

i wanna buy it in dvd, lol
