When the ball was played, he was clearly in his own half. Onside, play on. The goal at 1:10 on the other hand... even if the ref said play on, the defender has the ball in his hand. American football is more closely based on Rugby football.

Second, linemen ARE athletes, since they are required for defending the carriers and penetrating defenses. Most football plays require the linemen to actually RUN and pick off people to defend the carrier. And defensive linemen are supposed to both penetrate AND seek out the carrier.

@GOOCHMASTER15 Real football ? America and Canada are the only countries that refer to football as "soccer". And what cheap shit American would say American football is better than football ? They both take tons of skills, precision & game planning. They are equally challenging, but in different fields. @GOOCHMASTER15 Real Athletes ? Hundreds of linemen in football are far too overweight. They have muscle, but weighing over 300 lbs for anyone is far too much to even be considered an athlete. The MLS is considered a very clean football federation, with minimal faked injuries, while globally, there are only few that fake injuries, and most of those are low class players anyways. On the otherhand, the NFL is QUESTIONING if faking is legal, because teams are faking it. I've seen it all the time.

@JulioV48 First of all, flopping occurs more in soccer than it does in football. I've watched both FIFA world cups and Superbowls, and there was more flopping in the world cups than in the Superbowls. Second, linemen ARE athletes, since they are required for defending the carriers and penetrating defenses. Most football plays require the linemen to actually RUN and pick off people to defend the carrier. And defensive linemen are supposed to both penetrate AND seek out the carrier.

@GOOCHMASTER15 Lol. Well see, FIFA World Cup games are 64 matches in a month, while SuperBowls are only once a year, so don't give me that crap. Second, If linement are defenders because they defend penetration, then football(soccer) defenders HAVE to be defenders, since defend penetration is about 30% of what their job is.

@JulioV48 Yes, but see, it's much easier for soccer defenders to to their job because they don't always (key words, DON'T ALWAYS) have people constantly bullrushing them. A soccer defender can kick the ball clear across the field to the other side, whereas linemen don't have as much leisure, since they have to constantly check around them for people to block, and defensive linemen have to be quick and seek out the ball carrier. btw, thank you for being more civil than that tenaciousdfrever guy.
