I like how this video didn't tout stem cells as miracle cures. It gave me a more sobering aspect of stem cells and the role they actually play in creating cancer.

It took them so many decades to realize the obvious.. SAD.. Germ cell tumors possess properties of totipotent embryonic stem cells gone mad, thus producing extra-embryonal components or elements of all 3 germ layers. Non germ cell cancers are tumors produced by pluripotent adult stem cells.

Its known that normal stem cells are also preferentially glycolytic when activated during proper regeneration, as are abberant cancer stem cells when proliferating and metastasizing.
