  • @walking00dead There IS the second book, but the company specifically said they were only doing the first... And there are at least ten books in the series... And only the first to have been translated into english... That's the big problem...

  • Glad I stumbled upon this anime while looking for a good anime show to watch. I cant wait to watch more and see what all is going to happen... :)

  • thank u so much for the uploads! I used to watch this with my sister >w<

  • Awesome animation. The animators actually bother putting effort in and making background people move. Love it. :D

  • I own the book, and I must say, the anime lives up to it.

  • @ShinobiInvader I assume the book was in Japanese? Is there a fan translation for it?

  • @HiroshiOu Originally it was in Japanese but there is also an English version of it. The book goes by the same name. Try looking it up on Amazon.com

  • If anyone is interested, this series came from Nahoko Uehashi's Book entitled Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit published by Aurthur Levine Books. It's a great read and makes u appreciate the series more.

  • The book is magnificent, and I'm expecting this to be as well. :D

  • omg...it's in english! O_O thanks for the upload though, lol.

  • I really want to read the series now, especially after I found out the author studied and used cultural anthropology in her works. The detail and amazing storytelling really shows it! I usually don't like anime at all, but this is an exception by far. Thanks for posting this up. :-)

  • I've only read the first book but it's really good

  • @TheKa89 what period did this story take place?

it looks to me like before heian period but i dont know for sure.

  • It's a fictional stand-in called the Yogo Empire. It has similarities to Japan, but it isn't Japan. I have to watch the episodes more closely, but I think there are two moons, for starters.

  • i see, isnt one of the moons the sun of nayuga?

  • I've got no idea, honestly. I actually haven't heard that word before you said it, haha.

In any case, it looks like Japan so the Japanese people (anime IS Japanse in origin, after all) can identify with it, but it's also different so the producers retain their artistic license.

  • @ShadowForge762 none the less, a truly great story.

  • Completely agreed.

I especially like the actual animation of the series, from the art/design of the characters to the action scenes. Also by the fact that we don't have the obnoxious exaggerated popping veins, sweat drops, and "falling down" things.

I'm sure most anime actually doesn't do that, but I guess I'm a bit jaded in that regard.

  • @ShadowForge762

Nah, you just have good taste. I can't stand most anime at all, but I really love this series just for those reasons. Just need to get around to finding a copy of the series where I live, heh.

  • Yup, they talk about that in the second or third book. I loved the series! XD

  • Hey Can U Send Me This Mp3 Of The First Part I like It.

  • I stumbled upon this anime on adult swim one night, and I'm REALLY glad I did! I've already watched the ten episodes you have posted and can't wait 'til the new ones come out in August! Adult Swim finally started showing an anime that I'm interested in. :] I'm glad to be watching anime again, just sayin'. lol

  • They still do have crap on but thats on sundays like the damn british shows

  • Yup, good point

  • It is from Blood +!

  • i love that show i made a playlist for it!!!!! and there coming out with human version of the blood + anime movie!!!!

  • omg this person is trying to do the adult swim thing >=] good job dude

  • I read the novel this show is based on n loved it. Let's see how the anime stacs up in comparison

  • i watched it yesterday i got hooked

  • So did I. ;)

  • same. all thought i didn't get the name of the show so i kept going on yahoo answers and researching on Google and after 3 hours i finally found it.

  • Wonder why they took this off of Adult Swim?

  • well cartoon network has always been a fickle compainy

  • They weren't finished dubbing it. It'll be back on the schedule in August.

  • I thought it was because of poor ratings. Before they took it off air after the first run, it was bumped back in the schedule by an hour, which is usually a bad sign. The AS bumps always claim that anime gets the worst ratings too.

  • The real question is why do they keep putting it on and off the air. It's going to be back on but it's unsure if it will be on for more than 7 episodes.

  • actually it's on today but its on really late at night

  • It was takem off schedule due to acquired rights issues, but that's fixed now. So starting over , the entire series will run now right after the Bleach double dip.

  • Hmm... re-dubbing often makes the foley work sound a little off for some reason...:( ..additionally the reprocessed version will occasionally be in mono, rather than stereo. I have no idea why.

  • Wow it looks good!
