I've seen the Commando Krav Maga (aka Combat Survival) series. Some of his moves have been improved upon (the inventor of the "Center Axis Relock" system for police officers developed a quicker pistol disarm) and there's a cheesy action film part at the beginning of every chapter to keep you motivated to watch more.
Also, there's this kid named Joel who he keeps using for his pressure points and stuff. I feel bad for him.
If interested in learning VERY EFFECTIVE EASY MARTIAL ART, check out TIM WAID"S PEKITI TIRSIA KALI videos, AND many other very good "PTK" videos on youtube. also KANISHKA SHARMA has some great kali videos on here. REALITY is that it takes time and LOTS of practice and DRILLS to get really good at this stuff, otherwise you're going to get MESSED UP!! and yes, you will get a false sense of securtity. not trying to dis-respect anyone or a style but real world is tough!!
to rustspinner, kudos, i like Pekiti Tirsia Kali, the "flow" and "sensetivity" drills i learned where essential in developing hand eye coordination, and , kenesthetic awareness. LOOK, Without PRACTICE, and, TRAINING, (drills with a partner), NO-ONE should attempt to disarm a knife wielding attacker without a weapon. you have to learn footwork also to get your body out of the way, and proper knife stripping(disarm) techniques. people move much faster in real life!! i do like krav maga though.
I've had a lot of concerns about trying to get to the outside in a real fight (even without a weapon) and I've mentioned this to panantukan practitioners and others (I've been in a few fights). But the arm and body positioning in this seem entirely plausible, and the outside is where you want to be in a knife attack. (Yes, I know, he shows an inside variant also, but I like going to the outside if it's possible). Thanks for posting, & remember, you fight like you train. Peace.
Why don't you do full speed to show how well the technique works. Anyone can do it in slow motion. Also if the attacker is jabbing the knife in and out really fast I do see a problem with that.
krav maga is real stuff, like it's basically street fighting no rules o your only goal is to stay alive that all their training is about. but how is it nonsense?
I have a lot of reservations about techniques like this. The thing about knife fighting is the person with the knife is going to be quick. By the time you try to disarm them, their arm would be back at their side.
I practice this move and its the fucken shit... If you catch it right you will always get the knife.. CKM is the shit... Dont knock it till ya try it.. and if ur a doushe bag who is dissing this system than go fuck off we dont want u to learn these techniques anyways... fuckers....
Krav Maga base is in Jujutsu from WWII; just as Jeet Kune Do has its base in Wing Chun. Krav Maga and Jeet Kune Do are modern styles which get their techniques from much older martial arts. There is no such thing as Krav Maga being a native or tribal art; they were influenced by the skills of their allies from other countries and created Krav Maga more as a method and attitude than style.
@Yoshin9 hahaha.... wtf are talking about? developed by Imi Lichtenfeld, his training as a boxer and wrestler, as a means of defending the Jewish quarter during a period of anti-Semitic activity in Bratislava in the mid- to late-1930s. Sure sounds like jiujitsu which u can't even spell. Your an idiot, don't comment if you don't know what your talking about.
@jesdanrich Name calling? Are you 13? You do not know your history other that what you were spoon fed. You should also learn a bit about Japanese words being translated using the English alphabet: "Jujutsu (also known as Ju-Jitsu, Jiu-Jitsu, or Jiujitsu)". It was "developed", he did not "create" all the joint locks and throws, they came from: "Some refinements include, but are not limited to, the incorporation of elements from traditional Asian martial arts" Jujutsu by any spelling is ASIAN art.
@Yoshin9 Your still wrong. You said Krav was developed during WWII that is simply and plainly incorrect(it's pre WWII) . You also said it's base is in jujitsu also 100% wrong, boxing and wrestling mixed with personal experience on the streets. Those were the building blocks of Original Krav Maga.... However Moni Aizik refreshed Krav Maga and his influences were different. In that case you might not be 100% wrong anymore but you don't know enough about the fighting system to differentiate.
sounds like farttradeandy is living in a dreamworld. Probably tries to make some money of commando krav maga. Moni is a fraud, look it up. He has nothing to do with krav maga, not with imi, and has nothing to do with developing krav maga.
This is good technique because it appears in japanese arts and in the canadian army?? eh.. ok that proves it. pffhahaha
This is a very good technique as it appears in just about every Japanese art. It is also in the Canadian Armed Forces techniques. Anyone who disses this has not been in real combat, or in the military. I don't think defensiveCCtactics has ever been in a real hotspot or been in real combat. You are just another cheese dick poser trying to make a living selling BS defensiveCCtactics. Until you have been in a real knife fight with no knife, than give an educated opinion. This is good.
You know what you cant block when you do a move you take your thumb smack them on the back of the head bluring vision and throuhg the knife at them they cant doge it eather
This is a very old technique that first appears in Japanese Jui-Jitsu, NinJitsu, and Aikido. What is old is new again. This technique works in a reality self defense situation as it has been handed down the centuries. This particular technique is an "oldie, and goody." Anyone who doubts it, has never had real combat, or military experience. This is one of the best techniques as hammering down the opponent with strikes to take the weapon does not work if the attacker is high on meth/PCP.
i mean nonsense as in no value in realistic self defence what so ever and it gives a verry dangerous false sense of security. It is total crap and it is a disgrace it tries to ride the wave of what is really krav maga.
@tubemeiradi Have you ever tried to punch anybody while your wrist is locked and off balance? Yes I have really done it, and not in the dojo either! Practice this and you will see how simple it is to do too. This appears in just about every Japanese art, and arts like Silat, Kali, and Arnis. It's been around forever, and is just recycled. Even if you don't like the guy doing the technique, the technique itself is solid. This is even taught in battle school at the Canadian forces!
@tubemeiradi No Offense but I was in US Special Operations ,and I was not always in Combat Situations Sometimes I was in undercover Operations. And the one thing my training always told me was 99% Of the time you don't know when someone has a knife,There is no such thing as a knife fight most of the time you wont see it till its to late.I was trained in Filipino Kali and Jujitsu.
@defensiveCCtactics You got your head up your ass as this technique appears in many different systems and is in the Canadian Armed Forces curriculum. What real experience do you have? I would be willing to bet you never had to drop you cock and pull up your socks and go into a real hot spot., have you? This works, and you probably never had to fight for your country or do peacekeeping of the sort. You sound like a cheese dick civilian to me.

Extremely effective technique, with great application potential. This is what we were taught when I went through Ranger school.
