Elephants don't do well in captivity, even in zoos. The only kind of captivity an animal of this size should experience is perhaps an open-range zoo, & only for breeding purposes. What's disturbing about this video is not the loss of human life, but rather the loss of human inteligence & what's happened as a result.

I agree with you. This clip doesn't make me feel sorry for the people who visited the circus or the elephant handler, it makes me feel really sorry for the elephant. It was probably pushed to it's limit of all the stress and beating from the handlers and audience. This is why I never go to circuses, they have no respect for their animals what so ever.

These elephants have NO stimulation for their very active minds, they are chained up for days on end and made to perform pathetic tricks. It'd a disgusting waste of a beautiful life which should have been treasured and respected. This has happened before, leave them where they belong!

If I could give you 30 thumbs up I would as I couldn't agree more with the above statement.
There is no mystery here only a moral; respect nature and leave it wild. If we all stop paying to see movies, shows and circus' with live animals there would be no market for people to raise and use these creatures - captive inhumane treatment of certain "show" animals (i.e. chimps, elephants, tigers etc.) would cease to exist.

thank you, I completely agree. Thank god animals like this are banned from circuses in most countries (australia certainly has had them banned for a long time). But it isn't enough. Elephants don't do well in captivity, even in zoos. The only kind of captivity an animal of this size should experience is perhaps an open-range zoo, & only for breeding purposes. What's disturbing about this video is not the loss of human life, but rather the loss of human inteligence & what's happened as a result.

I agree with you. This clip doesn't make me feel sorry for the people who visited the circus or the elephant handler, it makes me feel really sorry for the elephant. It was probably pushed to it's limit of all the stress and beating from the handlers and audience. This is why I never go to circuses, they have no respect for their animals what so ever.

I completely agree with you in the sense that the elephant shouldnt have been shot to death. But I do feel bad for the people that got injured or the man who died. They were innocent by starnders.

Why people lack the intelligence to understand, that animals were meant to be free? Why is it that we ask why things of this sort happen? When was the last time you visited a zoo? How many animals you deduce were content? These fellow organisms deserve the right to roam free, just as we have that right. What makes us different? Judging from what I have seen in this and many other clips... not much.
