One of my favourite classical italian songs. Usually I've heard it in tenor's interpretation. This song is very popular in Russia in the Russian translation "Skazhite devushki podruzhke vashei, chto ya ne splyu nochei.." I prefer this Hvorostvosky's interpretation to a typical italian one (though very impressive in it's own original way) because he sings without that characteristic sobbing in the voice and makes it dramatic enough but not too much. Very beautiful voice! Great performance!
