MHS has always had a small guard since I've been a part of it ('03). It used to be bigger, but much worse. '02 was a highlighting year when we won best in class for guard, we were small then too. Sandra was a guard girlie of mine. She and the others won a bronze medal in ensemble for the routine I choreographed for them. Great job on choreographing, Sandra! VERY proud of you! Sad to see still not much dance work over the years though. That was my pro. Keep up the good work MHS! :D
visually not so bad... really small guard, which will cost them a lot of GE visual points... percussion is horribly arranged and the performance is way out of balance and sounds like a train wreck... they may want to consider professional arranger and instruction in percussion. The wind ensemble isnt so bad... needs a lot of work on some of those inter-segmental dialoguing, but otherwise has potential.
I was a junior in this band last year and a senior this year. The reason we sounded off was because of multipule individuals who would play louder than the whole band expecially in the trumpets. (one of them most likly being me). And this was not a state year for us therefor it was all about having fun as we proved in the finall movement "Krump" This year is different, the Gaurd is small once again. And we sound and look a hell of a lot better. We just made it into Area. And the percussion rocks
I like the new uniforms! I was Drum Major for MHS 03-04 and 04-05.
You guys look good
