is it legal for a civilian (US) to buy one of these, because i love this gun, and wanted to get one with some practice rounds

@Scyerf You would need to get a pre-BATF ban one and have a tax stamp put on it. Also HE ammo would be extremely rare (on the civilian market) and around $500/shot + $200 tax stamp. You can buy an M79 and shoot practice rounds out of it though for cheap.

About half way between Hawaii and San Diego on board USNS NAVAJO. We use the M-79 to shoot flares. We had a bunch of practice rounds that were about to expire so we figured why not.
