It took a while but I finally understood why grace said this song is the perfect song for this conclusion. Its basically just like SDF Macross's ending but with the roles switch around. Macross Frontier people is like the Zentreadi who are attacking Earth( In this case they're attacking the Vajra's Planet) while the Vajra and Galaxy represent the original Macross people on the good side. So Ranka singing this song is like Minmay singing to win the war back in the first series.

Oh, c'mon! I'm a really Macross fan! Watched the Robotech version on TV... and despite all the nostalgic feelings, i think that Frontier was a great series and i just think that this Oboete Imasu-Ka is as good as the DYRL movie. Even though DYRL was a ultra-compressed 27 episodes.

I'm going to say this: I think it would have been better if it ended with episode 24. I can't stand those super happy endings at the end of anime. It was getting dark and sad--which was good--, then it would whipflash you with a cheesy 'everybodys happey' ending, that always make me sick.

Naturally people that have heard the original are going to say that it was the best and the current generation is going to say that Ranka's version was better, to some extent. Some people will judge it properly but the majority will base their views off what they heard first. I myself liked both versions with each unique voice making the song itself beautiful. Ranka Lee is my favorite character to this date though XD

I'm sorry but this version didn't really have the same impact as the original. The original maybe outdated with its instrument but it was completely relative to its series. I was expecting the revival of Ranka's version to be full of synths and a orchestraed composition but they ended up making the song sound like demo. I was very dissapointed when I got to this episode. still prefer the original.
