Hmm.. whatever happened to women's choice? Isn't the fetus .."just a bunch of cells", "a parasite" etc.? Hah, funny how unwanted fetus become unwanted daughters, ONLY because they happen to be female. Maybe I have it all wrong. Only male fetuses are parasites, only male fetuses are just a bunch of cells and female fetuses are daughters? The level of hypocrisy is amazing!

I'm from India, and sex-selective abortions are pretty common here, even though there is no one-child policy. Society deems sons as being more desirable to a couple than daughters. Having a daughter means feeding, clothing and nurturing her to finally 'give her away' to the husband's home, along with a hefty sum of money and/or property in dowry. This is viewed as a loss to the family, and having a son who brings in dowry from a rich girl is viewed as a blessing.

It is not Abortion which is the problem, it is the view that females are 'lesser' than males which is the issue. Just like anything, this issue is one of education; do we take away a violent racist's hands when they beat a person of colour? No, we attempt to educate them as to the utter ridiculousness of their hatred.

Everything connected to it is simply swept under the rug by international "family planning" organisations and the feminists, who are supposedly pro-woman. The feminists were so busy exalting abortion that they are oblivious to the weapon abortion is in the hands of the "patriarchy". Abortion exploits women and is why feminism is self-defeating.

It's also why pro-lifers are the ones publicising this stuff.
