  • @APVangeli no, but it helps ALOT!!

  • can you do webshare with jolycloud? as same as tonido?

  • the 1.0 sucked but right now im using 1.6 and it rockss

  • Are there any difference between the OS and the Browser version?

  • I love using Jolicloud 1.2 on my netbook, it's exactly what I envisioned when I purchased it!

  • hahaha, I HAVE TEH SAME NETBOOK! :D

  • @ShizukiSoulZz gz, but who cares?

  • @TheyCallMeIgi

    your mum ;D

  • @ShizukiSoulZz Not a single fuck is given by her.

  • @TheyCallMeIgi

    haha Smart reply.

  • TOTAL FUCKING FAIL: you need a minimum of 384mb of RAM to run this fat bloated rebranded version of Ubuntu

  • BEST OS FOR BEGGINERS

  • what did u record the screen with coz i hav joli cloud and i cant open the programs that record the screen i think i tried like 10 off them already

  • @333tymon With a webcam? -.-

  • The netbook versions so far are a fail.

In the end i'm using Ubuntu Desktop 10.10 on my lenovo s10-3t atom n455 and 2gb ram.

  • can i use my built in web cam on jolicloud

  • LieennnUCKKss ffAAAiiLs!!!

    7Z7MqAG

  • @LiEnucksFAILS yeah lets ignore the fact that it is the best and the most secure operating system in the world used even in microsoft's servers.

  • @ernis1100 It is the worst and less secure.

  • @LiEnucksFAILS Well that doesn't change the fact that Linux is a leading server operating system, and runs the 10 fastest supercomputers in the world.

  • @ernis1100 That means nothing, dumb fuck...all it means is that LiEnucks is a work horse the crunches numbers...wow..big deal...as a personal computer (choice, compatibility, and ease of use) it fails BIG TIME. 1% market share :)

  • @LiEnucksFAILS I was gonna include the fact that windows owns the market due to it being the mostly used OS by simple users as i predicted your dumb use of the 1% share to try to get an advantage in an argument. which you with your little sad retards on youtube did like 10 times now.

The target market I consider are advanced users who actually need something like terminal with complete access to the OS root which windows fails to provide. I'm ending this nerdy argument you freak. Get a life

  • @ernis1100 LOL. You fucking fool. LiEnucks is a piece of shit at everything, let me demonstrate:

Windows runs OpenGL opensource games twice as fast (We're not even talking about DirectX here):

    bit . ly/9O4OeD

Windows consumes less power than LiEnucks, giving notebooks more battery life (60% more: 3 hours instead of 1.75 on LiENucks for example):

    bit . ly/fvBxJk

Windows is better at running Flash 10: watch?v=aof9D7Z2EbQ

  • @LiEnucksFAILS Your facts are absolute bullshit do you even own a net/notebook?

I get 5 to 6 hours of battery life on windows 7, and 6 to 9 on linux. no matter what super power saver i set on windows 7 it never gives more battery life than ubuntu running on normal performance.

Windows gives me around low fps on flash programs online, while it doesn't lag a bit on ubuntu. So don't give me this bullshit I've been a Win user all my life. I'm still using it but you - are a blind angry windows fan.

  • @ernis1100 LOL. Here is a really hard decision, or do I believe a rabid LiEnucks fanboy or a professional neutral benchmark by a reputable source? Wow. Really hard decision. Sarcasm.

    Windows is better at everything.

Also, if you want to see proof that LiEnucks gets hacks, viruses, and trojans, let me know. I love it when it coughs up root access privileges :)

  • @LiEnucksFAILS So? what's your point? I still preffer using linux over windows for work even though at the moment im typing over windows. I'm not a fan of anything. Grow up. Windows has it's good points so does linux. You choose to be in some kind of a rebelious psychopatic secta and rage over everything that's not windows but I chose to use the advantages of all the interfaces to my comfort.

    Take a chill pill.

  • @ernis1100 Just know that you are using an inferior OS. That's all there is to it.

  • @LiEnucksFAILS

I can dispute or approve any fact you throw at me - but you ignore my points repeating your little lines over and over again like a religious maniac

    Better gaming on win? OFC

well how about no access to root, How about FRAGMENTATION, Linux doesn't have defrag because it's file system never gets fragmented. How about security? windows security is absolutely inferior to linux.

Ubuntu's battery life is better than win 7. Flash 10 - same.

    that's linux-windows 5-1 so far.

    Sources? ME.

  • @ernis1100 That's why no one takes the opinions of a fanboy for anything. Let us look at what the reality is (professionally done benchmarks):

    Gaming: Windows

    Productivity: Windows|

    Flash 10/Multimedia: Windows

    Battery Life: Windows

Security: same (LiEnucks gets hacks, gets viruses, trojans, etc). Same. Windows has a higher volume of viruses due to having an exponentially more present.

  • @LiEnucksFAILS Stop contradicting yourself. 1% market share, but then you attack Apple for owning the world in your channel description.

And lastly I don't give a flying fuck about your nerdy statistics. I installed linux along with my windows 7. I prefer using linux and i don't care if the performance is 0.0041% better on windows. I find it better for me to perform the daily tasks i need, with the help of many free open-source programs, while a decent video editing soft on win costs 600$

  • @ernis1100 1% market share, imbecile, that's all I have to say, on and..it's 100% free...yet at 1%....Free market doesn't lie. If something sucks, then it sucks. That's all there is to it.

Windows comes with a free video editing software, you fucking moron. Owned.

  • @LiEnucksFAILS windows?-closed source shit Linux-open source

spelled linux not LIEnucks yet you call ernis1100 a fucking moron.... get a life fanboy

  • Bruno ist back!

  • to be honest you sound like a german scientist

  • whats the purpose of having cloud os? depending of internet and cloud apps isnt very practical.

  • which one is better? jolicloud or moblin?

  • This looks better than chrome os

  • @aero2146 it is by 1000000%

  • @APVangeli it is ubuntu based, so you can install pretty much the same stuff in it, it's designed to be cloud based (ebuddy, google docs) but you can install some good things (pidgin, Oo writer) i triple boot it with mint and vista, just for fast internet browsing

  • Wow, really cool OS. Super fast! Thank you for showing this to is

  • are you dutch? you talk like goldmember.

  • @richo12345678

i'm dutch, and dutch people definitely don't talk like this.

  • I just downloaded the jolicloud on my mini 210. seems to be be running good. just learning how to use it. the youtube app runs pretty fast.

  • So cool. I will install this rigtht now :F

  • anyone knows if its good for desktop pc? i need something like that for sisters pc

  • eh.. windows is way more productive than "jolicloud" even the name is a joke.

say you don't have internet? then what? you're stuck without any of you're important files (college final papers, important business documents, etc.) i think they should concentrate more on a light os that doesn't require internet to be used, but more as an internet option on the side.

i can see this form of technology being used in the near future, but wifi/wireless internet is just way too slow for practical use.

  • @bmw2go11 it has local apps, including open office (for those papers) ....

  • Great video! Thanks for taking the time out!=)

  • so can u play any games on this os?like cs-1.6, DOTA and that

  • While using joilcloud OS can i use my netbook offline? Is it necessary to be online?

  • Does jolicloud support the accelerometers used in the intel classmate netbooks?

  • WOW very impressive OS. I even seems much easier than ubuntu netbook edition.

  • Installing it now! This looks awesome!

  • German ?

  • I know this sounds absolutely stupid, but... how the hell do I get to Terminal? I can't find it ANYWHERE. Is there a Control Center on JoliCloud? I can access the filesystem (via the directory/nautilus browser) but... under what folder(s) is Terminal?

All I'm trying to do is install Java (update 21) via Terminal. That's all. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated :)

  • @NEXTLOVER

    Hit the Menu key>Accessories>Terminal

  • Thanks for this! I love the new JoliCloud! I'll probably use it as my main OS on the netbook (instead of the dualboot). We'll see.

  • COOL!!!

  • So you can't startup without internet?

  • but the most important, is there any program like word or power point that can be used in jolicloud?

  • @seamusfing openofficeorg . Remember, it's just linux os with custom GUI and totally rebuilt.

  • Thanks for the vid. I'm trying this out right now on my acer aspire one A0A110 once I finish burning the iso onto my disc...

  • The update sucks so hard ! Where's my desktop, can't even switch it ! I hate the update !!!

  • hey i bought jolicloud but i cant install flight simulator x on it. why? thanks. :(:(

    pliz help:(:(:(

  • @beberia Jolicloud is free, and flight sim x is a windows game so it wont run on jolicloud.

  • Don't believe the hype, Jolicloud is incredibly poor. Win 7 pro and Firefox/Opera/IE run WAAAAY faster on my Dell mini 1012 HD and takes advantage of ALL installed hardware.

  • @LurkingCrassZero sorry that's just not true. Obviously you never had the chance to compare these systems. Complete BS!

  • @minipcpro If I hadn't had chance to compare, I'd obviously never have commented in the first place!? I've yet to see a single Linux variant that can be installed on any system without some hardware that isn't implemented properly. Every now and then I will see another variant that is touted as some marvel to behold, and i fall for the hype - again - as with this latest offering. On the plus side, Jolicloud is VERY easy to install (Even without an optical drive) and more importantly UNINSTALL!

  • @LurkingCrassZero so which hardware isn't implented properly? Just your arguement that any Browser under Windows 7 pro runs and renders faster than the Jolicloud/Chrome combination tells me, that you just haven't tried it.

Jolicloud 1.0 is only delivered to the early beta testers of Jolicloud. Shall i go on? :p

  • @minipcpro My Dell mini has a Broadcom Crystal HD accelerator card, and the build of Jolicloud I have does not support it, so no HD video. It can play 720p video files, but just try playing a 720p or 1080p Youtube vid! The Chromium & Firefox browsers all but lock up. Maybe the 1.0 version supports the Crystal HD card? I doubt it though. It a fairly big downer not supporting the accelerator card, as it is the most popular card your likely to find in a netbook.

  • @LurkingCrassZero as i said, you don't have Jolicloud 1.0, that's why you can't make any comment about performance issues. Thanks ;)I

  • @LurkingCrassZero i wonder what Windows 7 you use cause my Ultimate version isn't supporting the Crystal HD card out of the box. Which makes your arguements kinda confusing in general!

  • @minipcpro Well I just tried the 1.0 version and he's right. Crystal HD card isn't being utilised, and general rendering of Youtube streams is OK at best, and 720p streams are very stuttery, with 1080p being straight slideshows. Positives: the interface is very nice - much better than the old one - and the way you add app's is cool. It's a great shame that hardware is not implemented. It's not quite all it's cracked up to be at the end of the day though. Good but not great ;)

  • @minipcpro hey how long does the installation take man??...& does it really take like 51 gb of space???

  • @LurkingCrassZero it's pretty obvious that you have no clue what you are talking about!

@minipcpro don't feed the trolls! this guys is a weirdo.

p.s. Jolicloud 1.0 rocks! i am using it for a week now and it's by far the fastest OS for netbooks

  • @Hoopermazing Jolicloud never had a desktop, so i am not sure what you are talking about. Crappy web apps? obviously you never used it cause there are tons of local apps you can download and install locally.

  • @minipcpro The pre-release one had a "dashboard" or whatever they call it, on which you could place icons to launch regular Linux applications. On version 1.0 that functionality seems to be missing (no doubt to try to force people to use web apps.) A Linux distro where I have to hunt for the terminal--and where other apps installed with Aptitude--is useless. If I wanted a useless un-customizable toy made by a company insistent on forcing me to do things their way, I'd have gotten an iPad.

  • @minipcpro the pre final release had the ability to switch to desktop mode either way i use it for its ease of use on the netbook not its sophistication

  • @minipcpro Hooper is right, the previous desktops (2) where so good ! Jolicloud is limiting everything they had and what was good about it ! I'm going for Linpus lite 1.3 .. Jolicloud is crap to the bone

  • Comment removed

  • @minipcpro I used the pre- 1.0 versions. They might not have called it a desktop, but those versions absolutely had one, and you could arrange links to locally installed programs on it. That said, you and your fanboy friends, who seem to have some bizarre fanatical loyalty to this piece o' shit cloud-app nightmare, can all go fuck yourselves. As for me I'll be using Ubuntu... which I can configure in any way that I see fit, as is appropriate with a fucking Linux distro.

  • @Hoopermazing fail

  • @Hoopermazing As I recall, you can change to a more "desktop-like" view using desktop switcher.

  • @theallcanadian Thanks... but I've already installed and configured Ubuntu Netbook Remix.

  • @Hoopermazing Jolicloud apparently was not designed for you. It's a conspiracy I know but hey someone had to be excluded and better you than me.

  • @shall1028 At this point, I couldn't care less. I was only inconvenience for about and hour... which is how long it took me to install and configure Ubuntu Netbook Remix.

  • @Hoopermazing ...inconvenienced, rather...

  • @Hoopermazing FUCK YOU!!!!

  • so the the whole OS in the USB? so if you boot from usb u'll have that OS but if you boot normaly u'll have your normal os like windows7 right?

  • @claudiokool i've installed Jolicloud on my harddisk

  • @minipcpro but u have 2 os?? jolicloud and the other one like windows 7 right?

  • @claudiokool yes, i have a dualboot-system

  • @minipcpro ooh ok thanks!

  • It would be nice if it had support for GPS out of the box in the app store. Any chance of getting a GPS app in Jolicloud anytime soon? By the way, Jolicloud does seem to suspend -- somewhat. it spins down the disk and blanks the screen, but leaves the fan running when I close the lid on this Acer Aspire One. A newer kernel should fix that.

  • Sweet downloading this now for my moms netbook :D

  • wow is that thing slow .... sticking to xp

  • "never seen such a fast netbook browser before"

Uh, you clearly have not tried Opera, then. It destroys Chrome, especially on slower systems.

  • @bubbah sorry that's not true. It's the combination of the OS and the browser that kicks in here. I have around 20 netbooks here with XP, Windows 7 SE, Ultimate, Ubuntu, Gentoo and 2 Hackintosh Dells.

This is by far the best speed i ever experienced.

  • @minipcpro Sorry, but Opera is faster than Chrome, especially on slower systems. Use both in the same OS, and you'll find that Opera gets faster compared to Chrome the slower the system is.

  • hows video playback in flash.

  • Does the 1.0 version suspend correctly? I have an Aspire One AOA 150/ZG5 and when I close the screen, the hard drive spins down, but the screen does not turn off and the fan does not turn off. This is with Jolicloud .9. Ubuntu had the same problem until the latest 2.6.32-23 kernel. That suspends as it should now.

  • @j0hj3ff I get a flashing backlight when I come out of suspend / hibernate on my MSI wind Jolicloud .9

  • wow!! really like your video.. can i ask u something??

how many space do you recommend to use on this Jolicloud??

what is the difference when installing Jolicloud from exe and iso??

  • @letmeknow96 there is no difference besides the fact, that you can install the exe version straight outta windows.

i am using jolicloud on a dualboot system. it's installed an a 250GB HDD but you can easily use it on a 10GB partition

  • so how is this better than what we have? seems to me like a downgrade and a way for jolicloud to tap into the internet and use it to make money. please correct me if im wrong

  • @alienodio jolicloud has been a cloudcomputing os from its first alpha.

  • This os looks very interesting, looking forward to installing it. Nice video!

  • How was the upgrade accomplished? Did you have to do a full, clean install from iso? Or did you do an in situ upgrade over the pre-release? If an iso, how about posting a link my Teutonic brother?

  • @allenbeme you will be able to download an iso-image or an exe file over the jolicloud website. Jolicloud will update your account to 1.0 but this might take some time. they are opening 1.0 to the founding members first

  • why the hell would ya get an axxo rip?

  • Du hörst dich Deutsch an?

  • What netbook is that?

  • @georgetims1 it's an Acer Aspire One 533 with Intel Atom N455.

  • @minipcpro Thanks

  • does jollicloud use the internet when in idle?

  • @whatamidoinghere101 just like every other OS

  • the vlc app i saw, was it cloud based, or installed locally?

  • @angelusp777 it got installed locally

  • uhmmmmmmmm!

  • hmmm this looks like a major step for the world of netbooks and laptops... JC 1.0 is like HTC right now !!

Im like waiting and pressing F5 waiting for the upgrade option -.-

P.S. running pre-final on laptop, tweaked just about everything for several months now. So im sure JC 1.0 will run a hell - fast on 2.17ghz DC processor!!

  • @pele2378 i promise you, it will fly. this one was just installed without any tweaks at all on an Intel Atom N455 system with 1GB RAM

  • @minipcpro thanks for your reply. Also, my main dig at JC during pre-final stage was the battery life vs win7. Although i am using acer 5735z laptop dual boot with win7, i get around three hours with wifi lowest brightness and general browsing, while with JC robby about 1,30 min which is appauling !! unless i go through the hassle of using PowerTop etc.. whats the battry life like under JC 1.0 now compared to robby? Thanks in advanced.

  • Of all the netbook OS I have been impressed with Jolicloud the most, I have been running it from my my main laptop too just because it works so well, This is looking great

  • @michaeljking you will love 1.0 - It's much faster, the interface looks great... it's like your netbook got a new engine. After just playing with it for some 24 hours now, i can already tell that i am gonna use it way more often than the previous release.

  • @minipcpro Looking forward to it!, Thanks for the review

  • i apologize if my question sounds stupid. Can I install this luncher on windows XP? is it a free luncher? where can I get it from?

  • @ammarns yes, you can download it at the jolicloud website. check out the link in the description of the video. you will be able to launch the installation process under xp but don't expect to get this version now...

  • @minipcpro Thanks :)

  • Oh Dude,Sascha is 210 years old, maybe his last name is Mccloud xD

  • @lakicar1989 someone is into Highlander... call me Connor :p

  • How does jolicloud work with SSD? Does it run TRIM or GC?

    Can you show off touch?

When you first turned it on it asked you to connect to the internet, can you not use the OS if you are not online?

  • @LoftyCuber i will install it on my Eee PC T101MT tomorrow to check out the touchscreen support. I have no clue about trim support for SSDs right now, sorry. You can still use locally installed applications when you are not connected to the web.

  • @minipcpro

Ok, sweet. I tried out the beta version of Jolicloud so I'm looking forward to testing out 1.0. It looks really nice in the video.

If this OS has full SSD support it really will be the best netbook OS out there!

  • @minipcpro

I just read the website and it says it supports SSD tho I do no know if that means that it will simply run on an SSD or if it actually optimally supports them with trim. Cause an SSD without any type of trim or gc or wiper gets slow in not too long a period.

  • @LoftyCuber oh i am aware of the trim feature, i have around 10 ssds here and i am using the new kingston ssdnow v+ right now because of its' trim support

  • @minipcpro

Talking to some people from Jolicloud I do not think it supports trim at this time. However MeeGo uses a slightly newer kernel than Jolicloud so I think it may support Trim. I actually have my.jolicloud loaded now in meego. :-)

I'm using an OCZ Vertex :-) SSD's are the best!
