Unfortunately Paul's version of the "Free Market" is too literally free. If a minority is refused service because of that freedom of the owner, that can leave a lot of the minority all over the country shit out of luck. It makes the market more free than the people, and that's what the constitution is for, fair and equal protection of all people, especially in cases of the majority vs the weaker minority. And most often the minority is too small to sustain a local business in light of others.
Ron Paul doesn't take the 10th Amendment to an extreme... he takes it to the level that our forefathers intended. States rights leave all matters that are not vital to the running of our country to fall to the State government ONLY. Ron Paul is totally in the right by saying that the free market will sort all of those problems out. Gay people won't live in Texas and minorities will go to another bar.
I, for one, would rather have all of the racists in that one bar instead of mine.
Ron Paul personally believes that marriage should be between a man and a woman, yes. However, he believes the government has no say in who gets married. He also believes that the government should have no say in what happens inside your home. He believes that the government has no say in how someone wants to govern their own business. He is a supporter of individual liberty and that is a concept that I don't think you're quite grasping in your view points. Please tell us who you think is better.
No, it's not complicated. The constitution was written so every citizen can understand it. Luckily I can tell you're so apathetic about your politics (in contrast to Ron Paul supporters) that you not voting for him will be completely meaningless.
Good luck. Maybe one day you'll come around to the message of liberty, peace and sound money.
Seriously, some day, very soon, reality will slam you in the face. Here's my source, take a 1 dollar Federal Reserve Note, and go try to buy 1 thin 1964 or older silver dime, then you can get back to me on why you trust your "Federal Government." If you own any real guns, please turn them into your wonderful United States Inc. they may even pay you in green toilet paper.
I respect your opinion, but disagree with it. I am a Ron Paul supporter. Ron Paul is NOT perfect, and even some of his supporters dont totally agree with every single issue at hand, but thats just how it is. I mean, you have friends and family whom you love, but you may not always agree with everything they say or do.......RON PAUL is the only cadidate that got me interested in politics again..before that I was a dumb sheep who voted for "Change" 4 yrs ago.
Gay sex, that's all you care about? incredible. So letting the Federal goverment make law or overturn state law is better? How about if the federal Gov. gets overun by Muslims senators what do you think they will want for the whole country? you think they will be as nice as lets say Mass state law or Cal. laws................ Stop lisping
I understand the dumbing down of America is rampant, you won't win them all, he has a right to say it. Perhaps I would blame the public education system and perhaps the foods he eats.... He is largely uniformed about the banks and the Ponzi scheme and how there is NO POSSIBLE way to pay back FDIC backed derivatives $100 TRillion! Who else will fight/ stop this. I admit this whole video was bad, and I feel sorry for what passes as legitimate dialogue instead of tripe.
I guess this guy doesn't want a real conservative in the White House. So I guess he supports one of the big government phonies who will lead America further into ruin.
This kid is a typical dumb ass american! Ron Paul is the best thing to happen to your contry and the majority of you are just to stupid to see it. America will fall one day like Russia...
hi im lov ron paul he so cool im immigrate from south sudan an he promise me in dream "hello masquez whiteman you will be america citizen and proud shopman of walsmart" and I throw my family in to the sea to come to americas. gods bless an americas im happy+proud thanks ron paul u make my fantasy come true
Dude, you are so right. I am going to turn a blind eye to the police state, Obama getting $1,000,000 from Goldman Sachs, the killing of an American citizen and his 16 year old son without a trial, war with Iran, and the NDAA because of this video. Thanks.
I like to put glue all over my body and wait for it to dry. sometimes ill use a fan or hair dryer. then I like to pretend im a snake on the ground and try to get all the hardened glue off without using my hands.
dude.. youre an idiot.. and the source for this claim is this video. LOL
At least you make an attempt to present your case in an intelligent manner but unfortunately your logic behind your reasoning is flawed in many areas & youre missing the forrest for the trees, i dont have the time or interest to peck out on my keyboard multiple 500 letter comments to point out where & how its flawed because it would take too long & too much effort, so i will let other do it for me, as im sure they will.
@cooler1011: umm..yeah..a bunch of wikipedia links..i guess that shows your well researched and well versed on the topics of which you speak. LOL. My friend we are the United STATES of America, we have states for a reason, if you want the govt to control all aspects of your life perhaps you would feel more comfortable in China or Russia. The Fed is the head of the poisonous snake that is squeezing the life out of america, Ron Paul tells the truth, unfortunately not everyone can handle the truth.
Pollution Cross State: Property laws - You havent really heard anything he has said coz he has covered that MANY times.
State by State laws on drugs: Interesting point, and worth discussion.
Unjust in 1 state should be unjust in all: NO!, that approach is part in parcel one of the worst approaches to anything. What you believe is not always what others should, you argue that your belief in whatever should override everyone elses. In that can u should throw the constitution out the window.
Thanks.. I was undecided til I saw this... Go R.P.! We minorities prefer honesty over lies anytime.. I don't care if I'm not allowed in a place that don't want me...why would I wanna be in there? You can't give rights to others without taking someone else's.. so better to have rights for all than rights for none no matter what...
Racist bar: It is likely a freemarket approach would have a large effect on having its business. But people of that view will still congregate. But to force it to close is to dictate moral values rather than to educate. I live in the UK, I'm Bi, a minority and a sociologist, and the UK is steeped in such laws and yet there are still many pubs racially biased even if its illegal. Prohibition doesnt fix things, education does.
This vid is well presented, but u should take another look at RP.
Texas Sodomy law: I think his argument was that it should not have had to go to the Supreme Court because the law was unconstitutional (thats my interpretation going by his history of constitutional arguments)
Civil Rights: I dont agree with him about being against the action of the civil rights movements. But his perspective is still valid, as a constitutional (As i think he sees it based on his arguments) would have had a similar outcome though taken much a longer....
U have raised so many points there is not enough space to respond. So in short, the Economy, i think your wrong, but there is more than enough information and just even vids on RP rebutting that argument, you should probably just check that out.
Abortion he has said on may occasions it should be down to the states. And if you hear his argument on abortion vs criminal prosecution when a pregnant woman killed, I did make me question my pro choice attitude (i am still pro-choice but have....)
So self-ownership rights are not the same as other property rights? A bar catering to black homosexuals can't refuse service to Westborough Baptist Church members, even though they actually have a right to?
You don't understand the difference between the private and public sphere, legal jurisdictions, legal precedents, stare decisis, much less between a Republic and a Democracy.
You clearly prefer to keep war deaths going as long as a hypothetical sex act can still happen somewhere in Texas.
settle down everyone if he wants the government to tell him how to live his life and how to be moral thats fine. not everyone can think for themsleves it hurts way to much to try "rational thinking"
Almost everything you said (that Ron Paul actually stands for in the way you explained it) I liked! But your logic doesn't always hold up. Don't ban abortion because the woman might hurt herself in the process of killing her baby? Would you not prevent someone from killing a child if you had the opportunity? Women's rights? Nobody has the right to kill someone else unless they're doing it in defense. I don't know why you have so much faith in big government, most of these people are bought.
@cooler1011 The only claim I made was that most of our representatives are bought. That's pretty easy to see. You don't raise tens of millions let alone hundreds of millions of dollars for a campaign without there being an implicit agreement that the investment will pay off. Obama's #1 contributor 2008 Goldman Sachs, they've done very well throughout the recession because they get to trade T-bills that are needed to fund stimulus programs. Just an example.
You're so typical. Keep talking about stupid issues out of context and no alternative rationale. While you were making this video the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 6th amendments were grossly violated. Tell me the name of the presidential candidate who prioritizes the protections of your civil liberties.
The economy is beyond screwed, and the fact that you don't understand the injustices that occur in our fractional reserve banking system proves that you're extremely misinformed.
@cooler1011 Google NDAA, Patriot Act, SOPA, PIPA, and ACTA.
The President now yields the power to assassinate U.S. citizens at his discretion.
We are in $15 trillion debt which is larger than our GDP (never happened before). There are "bubbles", like the real-estate bubble, that are going to burst sooner than later, and they are caused by progressive legislation. The real-estate bubble was caused by progressive legislation.
ugh so much of this is just wrong lol.... you make it seem like Ron Paul is very anti Gay... NOT TRUE... he's for states rights on most issues like marriage, or medical marijuana. You really think if a racist restaurant opened up they would make a profit? lol who would sell them food? who would work for them? the list goes on and on... the government can't make us more moral people
Leftist liberal socialists really have no concept of how important it is to minimise the power of a federal government. Read your history. Learn that national socialism is another word for corporatism which is another name for fascism which ALWAYS leads to totalitarianism. Ron Paul is supporter of the constitutional republic. As in the rights of the individual trump the rights of the state. Its not pretty but its freedom baby.
Constitution= dummies guide? You are an idiot! RON PAUL is the only candidate that isnt a liar or a thief. Sodomy is now legal and also beastiality so you dont have to worry, have your fun! Why are you talking about racism, that issue is completly out of date! Why dont you talk about the NDAA EUGENICS BPA FEMA CAMPS HPV CHEMTRAILS JOBLESS HOMELESS BANKER BAILOUTS REAL ISSUES IDIOT, REAL ISSUES IDIOT, REAL ISSUES IDIOT! You are completly ignorant!
At least you are somewhat knowledgeable about why you will not vote for Dr. Paul unlike the sheeple that just listen to the MSM. I do however fill your views are incorrect on many levels and you take his stances on states rights and the other topics you discuss to the extreme to make your point. 1. States are sovereign, 2. He supports competing currencies. 3. His abortion stance is state based as well as many other issues you bring up.
Unfortunately Paul's version of the "Free Market" is too literally free.
