  • Nicely done! She looks a lot like how I imagined Christine. Good lip-synching, too! It looks quite convincing.

  • couldnt they hav actully gotten her 2 sing, not emmy rossom

  • Well done actually :) I think the phantom was kinda cool:) He should of maybe been a little more brutal though, you know, kinda crazy-ish but still, well done!!:) Seems so fun to get to do something like that as a school project!!:D I bet you they had fun:)

  • lip synching!!!!!!!!

  • Dude, you sound like a robot. Phantom is suppose to be smooth singing not word by word. That's my take on it. But either way, you did good.

  • Was this lip synching? because if its not. This has to be the most perfect voice interpritation in the world.

  • Christine reminds me of Charles Dance's Christine.

  • this is so gr8 :) well done

  • i was throughly impressed and really tomahawk360 it takes a lot to impress me with reinactments i applaud many of your choices you were very into the character and i liked the movement choices of both you and your partner

  • Amazing, u should really do more things like this.

  • que que ele fez ali com ela no escondidinho? Oo

  • I love how you used the blonde hair and followed Leroux's description of Christine! ;D

  • very nice,

but i don't get what the cape thing is for?

is it just to signal the scence is over?

  • That was really good, like the bit just before the unmasking. Seems kinda sneaky of her. >:3 The ending was odd.

  • *claps* Brava! I think you did a wonderful job with the scene :)

  • very clever, well done. even the synching works.

  • do more do more!!!!!!!

  • I found a mask that looks like the real one at hot topic. Not bad though, did you make that one?

  • Yup, hand-made.

  • How did you do the set? It's amazing!

  • Haha. Are you kidding or is this a serious question?

  • I'm serious, that set is AMAZING!!! =-)

  • A fog machine...??

  • Of course! What cheesy college production is complete without one??

  • Dude she has a tattoo on her back shoulder and she doesn't fit the part of christine at all This was really bad, and the guy playing the phantom is really bad sorry but thats my opinion

  • Thanks for your opinion man. All are welcome. This was a college project, so the details you're pointing out aren't the ones that were being graded. No biggie though; we had fun and made a great score -- that's the most important thing.

  • Hey. I'm sorry if the comment sounded kind of harsh but I do thank you for not biting my head off about it. I think that for a school project though the video was nice.

  • Did you get permission to do the production?

I hear ALW guards the rights strongly and you need special dispensation to do any version of the show or they'll take legal action

  • yeah ALW is very strict when it comes to ppl producing his work.

  • You mean he's greedy. He wants to get a payout every time someone wants to do his work.

Many other productions people can just do, but with ALW he has to have strict rules so he gets more royalties.

  • I don't really know too much about how writers set up rules for ppl having rights to perform their work, but if nobody is making profit off of doing this, then it should be fine.

  • It's non-profit and was purely for educational purposes. ALW should be flattered, not offended.

  • lol at 1:$& it looks like hes a mental guy askin for a hug lmao

  • i like it but i don't like the acting

  • Can you post more?

  • that was AMAZING really well done

  • not bad. only thing i found wrong was christine give the mask back to him later on. i dont know about the guy playing erik though i wasnt really impressed with him...but not bad

  • We understand it's a limited budget and it's just a student's class project, but they couldn't spend five bucks on some foundation to cover up Christine's body art? ...nice shot of it at 00:46

  • thats gerard butler's voice to

  • it's emmy rossum's voice over the blonde girls

  • I dunno, I don't think he's really that good...she, however, is. I really like it, but he could've been better.

  • i was impressed i wan't sure that it would hav been done well to be perfectly honest but you guys were great. the acting was done very well and the stage and customs were great. but the cape thing at the end was a little weird but besides that it was awesome!!

  • Yeah, regarding the cape at the end -- one thing to take into consideration is the fact that this piece is a standalone production. Yes, it's awkward I will agree, however the scene doesn't directly lead into anything else. Thanks for the compliments!

  • Yes...but still...did they HAVE to do that cape thing in the end? Couldn't he have just...I dunno, caressed her so she is in his arms?? Or even just fade to black with both of them standing apart? It was almost like a dance move or something... All that aside, thank you for posting this and it was well done under the circumstances :)

  • If I had it to do over, I'd have done away with the cape maneuver. It was just bad, last-minute improvisation, that's all.

  • That was wrong. She gives the mask later back to the Phantom.

  • You should have cited that the singing and music were done by other people. "Utilizing a track" just indicates that the lyrics and ideas were done by others.

You've put alot of good effort into your video!

  • She's not "miming it", stupid. She's lip syncing.

I think you guys did great, beside the fact that the lip syncing isn't necessarily believable, I really like it.

The set, the actors, the acting.

    :D Great job.

  • Leaving aside the fact the phantom is quite...too sexy...this is quite good. I think the budget lets this down and not the acting.

The acting is quite good (just remember: the phantom isn't meant to be a bonkable twink).

  • LOL... bonkable twink. Wow. :) Hey, I was just happy to have a body in the Phantom's role! I think my cousin did a pretty good job, considering the circumstances. ;) But I get what you're saying, and agree. An ideal scenario would have produced a better production, for sure.

  • where was this scene made? Is there any way i could get this girl to make a simular viideo

  • I've never seen a blonde Christine.......

  • Can't ever say that again! ;)

  • someone please upload the scene where The phantom plays the organ!

  • I thought it was cool, and Erik was cute, but the cape thing at the end was kinda odd. Other than that...good job. XD

  • I thought It was pretty good. Not the best but Pretty good. Christine was great, but The phantom... not exactly believable. Some of the shots felt randomly put together, like it jumped from close up to far out too quickly.

Over all probably an 8 out of 10. I would like to see it with a different actor as the phantom.

  • that's not her real voice that's emmy rossum's.she's miming it!

  • Way-to-go Captain Obvious! :)

  • She's alright lol I like

  • i'm just disappointed that they aren't singing their own parts. if i hadn't listened to the soundtrack so many times it might be ok, but it makes it seem kind of corny to me. idk...maybe it's just me, but i didn't find this very good.

  • You're taking it out of context, I think. Trust me, you wouldn't have found it better had they actually sung their own parts. ;) That said, there have been over 60 comments on the piece, and yours is the first negative. :)

  • I'll take your word on the singing bit. :) And I guess I'm just a downer, I'm sorry. No offense meant at all to the actors.

  • No worries... it was, after all, an exercise for a grade. We also only had 3 days to prepare, as a part of the curriculum.

  • O_O three days?!? that's crazy. we did a play for our drama final and we had two months to prepare and, trust me, some of the people were abysmal. knowing now that you only had three days, i give you a brava for good work under pressure. again, my apologies.

  • DUDE WHERES THE REST!!!THIS IS AWESOME!! THe dude playing the phantom is a greatt actor..isnt there more?:(

  • they are lip singing..were they normally lip singing..or did u just add music instead of listening to their voices..?

  • COOL!!!

  • verrrrry neat!!

  • hahaha...this is reallly goooooooooooooood!!!

  • Pretty good for a student reproduction. Phantom's a hard play to do and it looks like they did pretty good, especially for a low budget.

  • That's Emmy Rossum and Gerard Butler singing.

  • It was cute! Were they really singing?Or did they lip synch?

  • i love this song and you guys made it kool with a "K"

  • I have to agree with everyone here: Yea for a BLONDE Christine, like she's SUPPOSED to be! ^_^

  • yes yes yes dere is hope for me yet a blonde christine

  • I dunno...there's something lacking in the acting.

  • Well, considering we rehearsed only once... not a bad job. But yeah, it certainly has its flaws! :)

  • WoW! I love how that was done. BRAVA! And Christine is blonde!! YAYS! *does Happy Dance* Again, LOVE IT!

  • I totalyy Agree! FINALLY A BLONDE CHRISTINE! YAY! *jumps up and down*

  • christine looks like a common pretty girl. Not like one from the 19. century.

  • wow this gets surprisingly intimate towards the end, I like that touch! Always enjoy remakes done with different ideas :)

  • Props to the director. Great use of color, lighting, and staging.

  • Thanks man! First time someone's really commented on the visual aesthetic of the piece. Much appreciated.

  • Wow! You guys lip synched better than in the movie! Great acting - well done.

  • Now if only they weren't lipsyncing to the craptastic Emmy Rossum and Gerard Butler.

    LOVE that dress, btw.

  • Christine looks beautiful...the effects are amazing...but a blonde Erik? naaah.

  • Haha, well - the guy playing Erik is my cousin, and he's naturally a brunette... he wouldn't dye his hair! The irony... ;)

  • Hi, is this from CSULA? the College I graudated from?

  • Yup, shot and produced at CSULA studios! Go Eagles!

  • This is how lipsyncing should be done if at all. Good actors.

  • I love it it's the best performance i've seen. Don't you have other songs?

  • Eww. Erik is NOT blonde, and if Christine is blonde, his mask has to cover his entire face.

And tuck in your shirt, damnit!

  • Ha, well whatever. If I hadn't uploaded this to YouTube- no one would see it. So who cares... it's just an exercise in live-television production from a college course.

    Thanks for watching, regardless...

  • too bad this is the music and voices from the piece-of-crap movie

  • is this their REAL voice? because if it is, then it's WONDERFUL.

  • This wus awesome!!!They make a cute couple!!!!

  • OUGH! I can't see it!!!!

  • The set was VERY nicely put together, as was the costumes. The acting was quite good for a student production too. Bravo! Kudos to you for your bravery and doing a rather effective job.

  • So beautiful! Brava, LOL! xDD

  • well I think what they're doing under there is that she fainted because of his voice like she did in the movie after "The Music of the Night." and he catches her...my opinion!!

  • You know I liked it but it'd be cuter if she looked away more times and he moved her chin so she could look into his eyes...and maybe beckoned her with his finger that'd be cute!! =D but it's your vid I don't wanna ruin it but you so KNOW I LOVED IT!

  • When he said dalila (I don't think I spelled that right but it sounds close...) it didn't look like he knew it...kinda annoyed me but otherwise VERY VERY VERY WONDERFUL!! It's always been a dream of mine to do something like that but I can never find a guy who has enough guts to do it...lucky you found him!!

  • You're serious this was for a project?! Dang...I hope it got an A because it sure deserves one!!

  • It was mezmerising absoulutely hypnotic well done! Please bring more!!

  • OMG IS THERE MORE?! THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL!!

  • This was really good. The guy reminded me of Cary Elwes. :)

  • Very brave for y'all to take on the scene where Erik has to flip his lid! Good!

  • I'm impressed. This is one of the best camp productions I have ever seen. Whoever played Christine and Phantom are very attractive. Nice choice ^_^ *claps* Very good job! (*shouts* BLONDE CHRISTINE! Hee hee!)

  • Yes! Blonde Christine! *chants*

  • The girl who plays Christine is cute! ^^ As was the one who played Eric. ;) The effects in it were great. Y'all did a nice job at making this vid!

    PS. Christine's outfit was gorgeous!

  • Erik*

Sorry, it just bugs me when people spell his name wrong. :P

  • wow awesome job! OSCAR!!!

  • This was REALLY good. I never expected something that awesome. Usually student reproductions involve over-acting and crappy lip-syncing. Good job. Really, really good job.

  • *claps like a maniac* That was beautiful! I love it, very well done.

  • Alw hasnt realsed the play rights so that was illigail! I liked it tho. I like the Christine but the phantom's voice isnt waht i wanted. Great lip syncing!

  • I'm pretty sure ALW would be flattered... this is after all a student production, a fan piece at the core. No profit being made, so I see no copyright infringements happening here. :) Thanks for the compliments, glad you enjoyed the piece.

  • Sorry about that before.I was werid, er werider two mounths ago. Anyways now I love this. The smoke, candles, coustumes, syncing all are beautiful!

  • And it doesn't seem you've learned how to spell yet either. : P

  • I like it a lot! Brava! the phantom's kind of hot too.

  • Bravo! Excellent!

  • I must say it would have been much more effecting if it was sung live. But as you said, time restraints. Bravo! on the Lip-Synching!! Not many people can pull off good lip-synching. I liked it, esp. the ending... like one person said, makes you wonder. ;)

  • Haha, trust me you wouldn't have wanted to hear their real voices. They were actually singing along with the track just so they knew they were being accurate with the vocals. ;) Thanks for commenting...

  • Remember to rate the video!

  • but anyway good job

i wonder what they'r douing under he's cape

    lol...

  • Thanks! :)

  • why are you using the track's from the cd

    i am really mad now...>:(

  • Hi, as said in the description this is was a student production... short time frame to actually get it done, so lip-syncing to an already produced track was the most efficient solution.

  • It's like how I remember it when I saw it in NYC.
