The arguments are all moot. This song is good enough to transcend either artist, but both are necessary for it to truly shine. Gilmour's voice and guitar are absolutely required for the chorus/solo, but none of his solo performances have felt right without Waters' delivery on the verse. I wish the band could have set aside all the animosity and done one last tour of The Wall before Wright passed...

Waters is good on the storytelling part, it's more into lyrics. On the other hand, Gilmour has a better voice and guitar technique. Nevertheless, both are true artists and both have outstanding works.

Would you please stop the war on who is best? Does it really matters? Best on what level? Both are really good artists, with different styles, with common roots.

Gilmore has offered to play the comfortably numb solo at one of the gigs on Waters Wall tour..and Waters has accepted !!! No, I couldn't believe it either, but google it you will see it is true

You do realize everything in this is song besides the lyrics, are from gilmour. Every member of pink floyd played a part in their whole era, Roger didn't realize this till he left the band and last i heard he regrets it. He treated his member like studio musicians which they weren't. Pink Floyd would be nothing without rogers, but rogers is nothing without pink floyd.

Gilmour came up with 3 great albums after pink floyd and with pink floyd without Roger. Roger only came up with 2 shitty albums which proves without gilmour Roger is shit all, and david gilmour came up with alot of fucking sweet songs when they were together
