OK,OK all jokes aside,this was a great movie back in 2001 and i seen it 3times at the movies,the bad thing is that it made everyone think that adding a wing to a civic would add 50hp lol.
to the douche under me the MKIV's come with the ge motor as well. in essence the ge and the gte are the exact same engine right down to the cast iron block. im talking exact same crank, pistons, conrods etc.. the only difference was the twin turbos and extra oil nozzles and a few different bolt-ons on the gte. as for the intake it makes a very minute difference in power output its not even worth mentioning. this is a multi million dollar production i think they would have done their research
@SuperFred1991 The "R34 GTR" was actually a GTT with a body kit. The computer was beeping and said on screen "WARNING: DANGER TO MANIFOLD". Then the passenger floor pan fell out. Don't even bother defending the realism of these movies.. haha

@SuperFred1991 um the gte has low comp pistons?? the ge has high comp so no they are not the same..the bottom end is different also which is why people who boost the GE like to swap GTE internals(pistons) for lower compression and some go as far as getting a GTE bottom end bc it is stronger(only needed for High HP ge's)
@marinecope24 yeah i think you're right there's a slight difference in piston dimensions hence the lower compression. but why the whole bottom end you just need to replace the pistons everything else is the same apart from the oil feeds and returs as for the cylinder head a thicker gasket will do the job. i went for a full gte swap and have since learned it was a big mistake as the ge can handle the same torture with a few cheap mods espesially if doing the job yourself.

What is funny is that the n00b is so suprised to see a 2jz engine under the bonnet of the supra- The supra only came with a 2JZ engine. why is he so amazed, what engine was he expecting under there, A Chevy small block?
...He says 2JZ engine, he doesnt actually say 2JZ-GE or 2JZGTE or mention anything about it being a N/A o TT engine. Its possible to make a GE into a single or twin turbo conversion anyway, as the blocks are basically the same with some differences. The 2JZ engine in both normal aspiration and forced induction is an amazing engine either way as its so damn tough and was the first engine to do 1000bhp on stock internals.
@Al88CZ but dont forget about the common problem the 2JZ has with blowing out the crank seal and dumping all the oil, its funny how a $10,000 motor can be ruined by a $15 part failing.
The greatest thing this movie ever did for the mk4 was keep the little kids who didn't know shit about supras away from them by driving up the price. It's like having an investment in the garage nowadays.
Dear God that scene never gets old. The fact that I laugh everytime he opens the hood and it's a GE despite later claism that it's a GTE makes me giggle. Movie was so bad, that it was good.

Even though they did go "cheap" if you're gonna rebuild a 2jz for a single turbo, why not get the NA? Makes more sense to me anyway
