I do just about every horse sport known to man so I know it's all hard and it takes a lot, and your bond with a horse has be very strong and trusting, but out of everything the rodeo world is the place I love on my 16.2 hh 8 year old or my 16.1hh 22 year old, I couldn't ask for better and truth be told everything is difficult and these two sports and both equally intense as everything else :)

i do western and english and wen we do western poles barrels etc. its not all money. i compete in all those western events and we have a HUGE bond with our horses just like u do!:) plus the horse enjoys doing barrels and pole and all that and we respect our horses just the same as you do!! :) pls dont hate i have my opinion u have yours lol

I totally understand...but us barrel racers have a very strong bond with our horses! English is just as dangerous as western. Jumping a horse could hurt the horse badly. Im not an english rider and will never wanna be one. Every horse sport out there is equally dangerous but we all share one thing in common...we love our horses and our horses love us!

@1hottbarrelracer I do english and I totally agree with ya :) I have had a 16hh horse jump and trip landed on me I was sooo close to being paralyzed and im 12 turning 13 this year and that was when i was 9!!!!!!

I think every ascpect of riding a horse isnt easy, but I personally dont favor western aspects,pole bending,barrel racing etc

I just think its rough and there running them too hard

and thinking its just all money, I have my opinion and so does everyone else but

I've never taken to western riding, Im a english rider western's too rough

english, we go fast, we jump huge, etc but we have a bond with the horse

I dont see the bond with ragging a horse through poles and barrels,

I love all horses tho

ok well there are some shots in this video from ohio state fair or congress ? right?? lol i show thr well if i qualify i show thr and it is a blast i love connecting with my horse and runningas ONE bc that is what u have to do u have to trust them and believe that they know what tey are going to do there best just as they trust you are going to guide them through the pattern... it is a team sport. u need both members to patisapate as ONE.

i have done rodeos since i was 2 and i love it!! i also do CMSA! i love that 2. but i'm only 12 and i'm already trainin horses for rodeos and CMSA!...tht;s is how much work i put in2 it and how much i love it and how good i am! like i'm training 4 horses over the summer. tht's how much people love me and think i'm good. i'm already chasing my dreams!!!:)))))))

Yeah, I have been racing for years and the kids in my school who don't ride horses think it's an easy thing to do. I tell them to come get on a horse and see how well they do. They usually shut up after that!

My horse, Bosko, once had this pole run in a dusty arena. When I turned the end pole to head back through the pattern, there was soo much dust that I could barely see where I was going! We still got a time of 22.204 or something like that. AWESOME VIDEO!!!

It does take a lot of practice, some people think that they can just show up and run it and do well. you know its funny... everytime someone asks me what it takes to do pole bending and barrel racing, there are two things I say and two things only: A Great Horse and Determination.

Everything else is something that is second in line. But having a great horse that trusts you and you trust them, a skilled and powerful and athletic horse is important. And Determination is also important. To be able to fall off and get back up and finish what you started is extremely important.

im a english rider (hunter/jumper) and sometimes my friends and i decide to give our horses a break in jumping and we set up a couple barrels and poles and around with those xD

NO sport on a horsesback is EASY lol :D

i agree...no horse sport is easy...its all about team work and trust and it takes alot of time and energy to get barrels and poles and jumping down with out getting hurt...

Really cool video. Yeah a lot of people if they're not interested in something they just say that it's easy or stupid but I don't think that what barrel racers and pole benders do is easy. It doesn't interest me personally but I definitely have a respect for it and the people that do it :)
