@k0smon I am not an evangelist either. However I know that Jesus said someone can only be saved by a belief in Jesus Christ. So according to the bible an atheist will not go to heaven unless they believe in Jesus. This is what St Paul preached and why he was martyred.

All the same, personally, I much prefer the Bible itself to a book about (or even claims to be about) the Bible.

Christian living is not living "your best life now", it is doing the father's will, witch is in reality the purpose of our earthly time. Jesus himself did it... Mathew 5; 19 "...the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does."...which shows that nothing that we do should be for our own wealth but it should be to glorify the father witch consequently will bring THE true blessing.

I can't believe so many people buy into this crap, it's all about JESUS, Joel. I think he forgot one very important element in all this God talk....JESUS is the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father but through HIM!!! Why don't you preach that Joel....oh because it'll hold people accountable to their actions and you won't sell as many books, well then stop calling yourself a preacher and close down your church

@k0smon I am not an evangelist either. However I know that Jesus said someone can only be saved by a belief in Jesus Christ. So according to the bible an atheist will not go to heaven unless they believe in Jesus. This is what St Paul preached and why he was martyred.

@mknight717 Joel addresses his sermons to Christians who already believe. You are correct that the bible does specify belief is necessary. But then what shall we do with the revelation that Carlton Pearson had that Christ died for everyone, and no one goes to hell for unbelief. Could it be that the bible is wrong? Yes, the bible is wrong in many respects. Look how it describes a perfect God as a spoiled child, how it unjustly condemns homosexuals. Contradiction and errors reside within it.

@k0smon Given that Jesus Christ who is the Son of God, said that salvation is only possible through him then I will believe Jesus Christ over Carlton Pearson or anyone else for that matter. Given that the writers of the bible Mathew,Mark etc were inspired by the Holy spirit I believe the bible is NOT wrong.There have been many holy men or saints throught the centuries who where filled with holy spirit so if the bible was wrong they would have pointed this out.

As many Christians are, you are long on faith and short of knowledge. Not all Christians believe in the Trinity. The quality of the bible does not speak to it as being the word of God. God could have done a much better job of it had He actually written it.

Jesus said Mat:24:14 "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come." Yes Jesus can see into the future and He said the gospel will be preached unto all nations. Therefore the gospels are NOT wrong.

He addresses his sermons to Christians, they already have "the truth of God's word". You just can't quite get it that he is not an evangelist, even tho you think he should be. He has a specific aim to his messages, to teach Christian living. Listen to him without such a critical attitude. He is guided and blessed as he serves.

There's is something definitely wrong with anyone that thinks he can escape sin or that God doesn't mean what he says, it can also be noted that Jesus was illiterate and got others to write down his words, the writen word is very important but not as much as having the belief in it, you can know every letter in the bible back to front but if you have no faith in the words then it matters not.
Jesus greatest commandment is "Lord thy God with all thy heart and thy neighbor as thyself" I try this.

Has anybody even bothered to question Larry King's line of questioning? From what I've heard and seen so far, Larry is asking very many, very leading questions. In other words, he's answering the questions for Joel and limiting Joel's responses and giving him a chance to confirm what Larry has said. I imagine that it would be difficult to fully evaluate Joel's position without keeping that in mind.

He CLEARLY states that he believes that Jesus is the only way to heaven and he CLEARLY states that that is what he preaches, all he says is that he WON'T decide or say who or who will not go to heaven because the fact is it IS up to God. God did not send anyone to Judge or condemn, he sent them to simply say the good news. And that is exactly what Joel Osteen does. He talks about the good news of his God and how to be positive, happy things. Nothing wrong with that.

It is not our place to condemn each other, but to build one another up in Faith in Christ Jesus. @manoffaith3112 I live in Georgia, so do not attend his church. I do listen to him on the TV when I get a chance. That is how I first found out about him, from accidentally watching his TV program. He has a metaphysically oriented message which I like. To find out how I think one gets to heaven, free download the book "Life in the World Unseen". You will find it very interesting. (No one says you have to believe it.) Thank for having a good attitude.

I would like to look at the book you suggested because I enjoy studying other people's beliefs and faiths. It seems a truth that every person has a spiritual side to their being, and that side of humanity interests me very much. Thanks for putting this up, we need more exposure of these prosperity preachers. Unfortunately they do draw in crowds because his kind of "Christianity" is easier than living as Christ has told us we must. The road to Heaven is narrow, like it or not, it's true. It's predicted in the Bible, many will follow this sloppy Christianity and unfortunately to their own souls' demise.

Just for the record, I have NOT read ANY of JO's books only heard hearsay of them. I have heard bits and pieces to his sermons from time to time. I do NOT follow JO, only JC! :) And, I am NOT defending JO just stating my opinions.

I think that even though people may EXPECT JO to write specificaly about Christ and His love and salvation, he doesn't HAVE to do that. And too, a christian can read his books and get something spiritual from them. But take a sinner, and they may get a 'self-help' book.

It seems that we are trying to kick someone around. Joel is not denying that Jesus in not the way. He is saying he is not being Judgemental. That is why he speaks looking in the heart. Too many Christian say they accept Christ and then walk right back to doing what they have done before they lied to themselves. That is what the looking in the heart is. He is speaking to proffessed Christians not The nonbelievers. His isn't a preaching salvation all the time, You accepted Christ now live in him

With only the hope of glory who is Jesus. These are not just words to me but; repenting, trusting, and laying down my will for the master who has given me every thing I am and have.
