It wasnt on here, but there is another Sportscenter where the broadcaster says something along the lines of, "He's about as central to the team as Chuck Garvey is to moe."
I wanna get this guys name...he did another clip where he was dropping grateful dead references, like ramble on rose and shake it sugaree, for a Memphis basketball game in last years NCAA tourney.
I hear the story goes that someone that is a huge Moe. fan filled in last minute to help write the broadcast. Also, I think ESPN encourages these types of references so as to keep things on the edge. That's what I heard anyway; who knows these days, everyone seems to be full of shit!!! See you at the next show...
I think that was the implication, but the term was chosen because of the theme of the replay. I'm sure he was implying it was a mow down, but the context of saying the pitcher "held his own moe.down" gives the impression that he was using the festival name.
wow...justin verlander is feeling ok, alright...how the hell do these anchors know who moe. is? i mean, they should, but i would think that the reference would be lost on the average sportscenter viewer, except me of course!
Right on, sports dude. I think the only thing on tv that would make me more happy would be a 24-hour feed of Rob gettin' down. Damn. Might have to start watching the sports.

Actaully I have a few friends who work at ESPN...one of which does music production, and he's definitely into some good tunes. He's a skater kid, but he's been known to throw some Phish into the rotation...I know he's thrown Tweezer Reprise on NHL tonight a few years back before the shutdown happened

Neil Everett. He's also the guy that drops the 'one man gathers what another man spills' when basketball players snag rebounds.
