I love how the comments are always disabled on videos created by theist propaganda channels such as IDQuest. I use that example specifically because I just watched a video about Dawkins "admitting" to intelligent design - the logic used in it was reprehensible and the voiceover hilarious.

Dawkins tries to convince everyone that science can answer all questions. Science only attempts to answer narrowly confined questions that have a possibility of being answered. Historically, science has not always draw the correct conclusion.

The theory of evolution becomes very problematic at the cellular level and when considering the complexity of molecular machines. Evolution is a theory that developed before we were able to observe life on the atomic and cellular level. Evolution becomes extremely problematic at the level of molecular machines and their various functions. The problem is we now teach evolution as though it were law and not theory.
@ehukai26 I think we are teaching evolution nowadays in the context of large-scale changes in population. That is all I've ever learned about in regards to evolution. It doesn't claim to explain molecular machines. Microscopic phenomena baffle us to this day, and even evolutionists acknowledge that. It just explains inheritance of already extant qualities. That is all it does.

In the lab we play God.

Dawkins tries to convince everyone that science can answer all questions. Science only attempts to answer narrowly confined questions that have a possibility of being answered. Historically, science has not always draw the correct conclusion.
I am not advocating religion, I am only saying that science should not be given a lofty carved in stone status. Such status actually hinders scientific progress.

The theory of evolution becomes very problematic at the cellular level and when considering the complexity of molecular machines. The assumption of evolution being a law as appose to a theory is based on conjecture. That a species will change over time due to survival of the most fit variations in that species can't be disputed, but we can not account for the existence of molecular machines and their complex and harmonious functions with the theory of evolution.

Evolution is a theory that developed before we were able to observe life on the atomic and cellular level. Evolutionists don't need to debate creationists. Creationists do a great job of contradicting and humiliating themselves. Evolutionists just need to be good at wordplay to win debates by turning arguments on their heads.
Richard Dawkins a genius. Even if he couldn't be a scientist, he could be a professor of rhetoric and political debate.

@MunkyDrag0n There are a lot of ridiculous arguments made by people who refute evolution, but their failure to make a good argument does not make evolution law. Evolution becomes extremely problematic at the level of molecular machines and their various functions. It was a theory that came to be when we did not have the ability to observe life at the atomic and molecular level. The reach of evolution to explain life is based on conjecture and not hard science.

@ehukai26 Perhaps you're right. Evolution does clash with irreducible complexity. However, to say that evolution is just conjecture is a GREAT understatement. Evolution is still a theory, because it is the best explanation we have. What could be teach in school if you go further than the creationists and say evolution is just a HYPOTHESIS. What would be your demand of proof? Can humans ever find proof since we've been on this Earth for only a few thousand years?

@MunkyDrag0n I should clarify, I don't mean to suggest evolution is just conjecture, only that there is a lot of conjecture built off the theory of evolution that takes it far beyond the science. I think it is appropriate to teach evolution as it is the best explanation we have, but we can't be afraid to acknowledge that there are imperfections with the theory when it comes to explaining molecular machines. The problem is we now teach evolution as though it were law and not theory.

@ehukai26 I think we are teaching evolution nowadays in the context of large-scale changes in population. That is all I've ever learned about in regards to evolution. It doesn't claim to explain molecular machines. Microscopic phenomena baffle us to this day, and even evolutionists acknowledge that. It just explains inheritance of already extant qualities. That is all it does.

@MunkyDrag0n Yes, we pretty much agree. On that microscopic level we have so much yet to figure out and in a lot of ways Evolution is a nineteenth century theory that has become inadequate at explaining the beginning of life.

@ehukai26 Didn't we come up with alternative theories for that, like how fat globules with DNA and various proteins inside them could become new cells? There was an experiment done by Miller and Urey where organic molecules could have been synthesized by Earth's early, volatile beginnings.

@MunkyDrag0n Yes, we have theories that, based on experiments, would lead us to believe spontaneous generation of life is possible. Those experiments have happened under highly controlled environments and are about as duplicable as experiments that lead us to believe cold fusion is possible. The math creates what now seem to be insurmountable problems with probabilities. Any lab experiment involves as much elimination of variables as possible to control probabilities. In the lab we play God.

@ehukai26 True, but maybe "playing God" is not as difficult as "playing Nature". Under highly controlled lab conditions, we can only make the bare minimum. We can make the constituent parts of living things. However, we'll never be able to make the more sophisticated structures. Nature has had over 4 billion years to experiment under various conditions to make all the different forms of life. No one can imitate that.

I have met him and would shake his hand 100 times over. He is an incredible man and deserves at the very least an open minded listener (or reader). People saying "I am not fooled by him" have been fooled by something much worse than an educated man.

He's just a smart guy who knows that controversy makes a lot of money. The question is: he is helping the world with this noise? or is spreading more hate?

Richard Dawkins is convinced that the majority of people are atheists because he receives quite a few letters from atheists!
and the bible is TOTALLY flawed, because it has lasted for thousands of years and it has archeological evidence and historical evidence and there's really no way there can't be a god...but aliens? oh, yeah, they totally exist. they created us, and if you look closely enough at cell, you'll see their signature of design. they're almost like gods! hahaha............

Aliens is a very broad term, an alien is an unknown, so in technical terms, every religious faith puts their hope in an alien being. However, nearby life would be impossibly far away, no 'alien' could have ever came and left within the time window humanity began.

@dragonking700 But he didn't say that. This is the most outrageous thing of all - the so called "Moral" Christians used a basic quotation mining technique that you would only normally expect from sly, dishonest Newspapers.
Quotation mining is where you take a quote out of context and edit out that parts that put it to context. For example "I hate priests that molest children" can be changed to "I hate priests".
The people who did that to Dawkins are pathetic liars

lol no, dude, i saw the whole interview. I don't take qoutes out of context. Dawkins openly admitted that there are theories for the CREATION of the universe besides God, knowing that the universe needs a creator. he never said "the world doesn't need a creator"
