Same thing goes for campbells hit on umburger try to guess why Brian dosent light people up any more? No matter what it's a big hit but deff charging could u imagine if the hawks had Sean Avery when this happend (I know Avery never played for the hawks didn't know how to word it any differently)
@Kartracer6 definitaly legal. I've been refing for 3 years now and as long as you dont leave your feet and the opposing player had intent or is within his range of playing the puck (especially if its under his feet) its a legal check, its not kronwalls fault he's a beast and havlat has now learned to keep his head up. thumbs up if you agree.
@greyknightsrule No it's not. What rule states that if it's within range? He has to touch it. Oh and by the way he does leave his feet. But that's charging not interference. I've taken officiating classes believe me this is 100 percent illegal.
hey stpngrvld i have no idea what u r talking about because 1 he never had control of the puck and 2 if u watch the video again, kronwalls arm clearly was extended into his face.
I can't believe anybody would still think this was interference. Players shield the puck with their bodies without ever touching it, and they often get plastered to the boards, with no penalties called. It's because they made a conscious decision to NOT play the puck even though they could have; plays like this are NEVER called interference. This is essentially what Havlat did. He could have touched the puck, instead he decided to try and get cute with it--a decision I'm sure he regrets.
If it was a "clean" hit why was the no name Knonwall tossed? Live with the call...Can you not see him jump into the air as he charges at a vulnerable player. Just because a puck is with in 2 feet of a person doesnt give you the right to potentially ruin a career or life of a player.
The puck is at the feet of many players all the time and they dont get blind sided at full speed with a leap in the air like that cheap shot. It is not an open ice hit with a player in full possesion of the puck
He never had control dumbass if you watch the video the puck bounces off the wall havlat trys to get possesionn but the fucking idiot unessary hit him before he could get control this hit was cheap and kronwall i hope he gets fucked up this year
Absolutely clean hit..No doubt about that..skates on ice, shoulder, and havlat had the puck under control and was looking for someone to pass..I wouldnt give Kronwall even 2 mins..Fuck Blackhawks...Go Wings!!The Stanley Cup is yours!!
I didnt said he had the puck on stick! but he had it under control I mean he knew he got the puck. And how can anybody say it was totaly not necesary??? In Play- off everything is necesary to win!!! and such a hit has to be routine!!
Yes, he was ready to Collect it, however you can't hit a player before he gets the puck. This situation is why. Because they are looking at the puck 99 out of 100 times to see where it is going then they look up just before getting it. Kronwall was going for an injury type hit, no doubt about that, and he just timed it wrong, even if he would have timed it correctly, the hit was just uncalled for and is why Kronwall is known as a dirty player.
I wouldnt say kronwall is dirty player..Then What about Stevens or Pronger?? Huh? xD This was classic Play-off hit :) and there should be more of them then the game is more interesting ;-) Havlat did wrong that he didnt look up like you said. Yes it was bad timing youre right..But not dirty hit :)
Is stevens and pronger dirty, of course, there are alot of dirty players, including Kronwall. There are many that will agree Kronwall is dirty. This was a dirty hit because it was with intent to injure with out a doubt. And Havlat wasn't wrong for looking down, how else are you gonna see the puck. He did everything right, he just didn't expect Kronwall to come and hit him before he had the puck. It was an illegal hit and a deserved penalty.
And by the way, your comment of there should be more hits like this. Your talking about senseless cheap shots that nearly knock someone out and could lead to a end of a career. That is one of the most idiotic things I've ever heard. Hits like this are not good for the sport what so ever, but then again it would be a redwing fan to want something like this. Sad, real sad. A disgrace to the game.
But at least not misconduct...Such hits are routine like I said..and havlat was lookin for someone to pass not at the puck..It was nice hard hit..But not everybody thinks dirty ..Everyone has different opinion :)
Its a misconduct because of the injury, thats the work of the rule book. Also he wasn't looking for someone to pass too, he was looking to receive the puck like any player would. Kronwall hit him too early and he hit him with intent to injure. It was an unnessary hit considering kronwall could have just poked the puck out and had a wide open break away. Instead he decided to go for the massive hit and that to me is what makes it dirty.
If you pause the video at the time of the hit you can PLAINLY see....Shoulder makes contact, skates are on the ice, and the puck is 1.5 inches from his skate. Godzilla you are blind and it was a necessary hit, HE HAD THE PUCK!!! The hit was as clean as Bill Cosby's stand up comedy. We got our payback in Game 4....LET'S GO RED WINGS!!!!!
im a hawks fan and ill admit it was a clean hit but it was totally not necissary and thats why it was called there was no reason to hit him he had already lost the puck
That was a textbook clean hit. It is unfortunate that Havlat was in the wrong place at the wrong time. But that's the risk you take when you play at that level. At least he walked off under his own power. I credit a clean hit and good equipment. Whiners should be glad he's not paralyzed. Go Wings!
Look at other YOUTUBE videos of Kronwall & his checks. He has MANY crazy checks & he does it for the benefit of the team, not do it to be dirty, that is just the physical type of player he is. When you make hits like Kronwall does, it changes the momentum of the game & causes an odd-man rush. He is known as a heavy hitter and players should keep their head up or theyre gonna get blown.
Kronwall is great but I do hope Havlat is ok cause he was in shock. Kronwall didnt deserve what he got tho
yeah if you look at other youtube videos of Kronwall you will notice that every one of his hits he has his hands/elbow up....clean? i dont think so buddy
pay attention. he uses his shoulders, not his hands and elbows. using your shoulders is clean. why do you think he rarely gets called for these types of hits? dont be biased cause youre solely a hawks fan.
This hit was completly dirty on many levels. His skates left the ice and he hit him in the face. Kronwall is going to get his fucking ass kicked while he is here in Chicago.
Havlat touched the puck with his skate. Watch the frame by frame. No elbow, it was all shoulder. His skates didnt leave the ice until after he made shoulder contact. This was a perfect hit. Perfect. Too bad Havlat was staring at the ground when it happened. But The hit was legit.
Ya the ref had a much better view on the goal that got called back game 3 against the ducks. Even if he didn't touch the puck, that was still a clean hit no elbow.
How? Chicago fans are pussies. Thats why you are crying about a totally legal hit. Maybe if you knew something about the game, your opinion might be more informed.
Detroit fans are the biggest morons I know. Rule book says interference is when a player hits another player who doesn't have possesstion of the puck. Possesstion is defined as the last player who touched the puck with his stick. Maybe if you knew something about the game, your opinion might be more informed.
