No. He is not in the army. Patches are very easy to obtain.  They are no more difficult to get than any other piece of clothing. I own a mil-spec Army Combat Uniform. You can buy them at a surplus store for $60. I also have obtained name tapes, rank, and tab insignias. I no longer wear the insignias out of respect for those who earned them and for fear of my life. (Literally)

Just got one of these M4s from Marui its a nice airsoft gun very fun to shoot. I also have a WE M4 gas blow back and yeah ok the blowback is about 40 % better than the Marui but the Marui sounds a hell of alot better plus up side is it runs of a battery and not gas. Plus the Magazine can be made to hold 30 rounds and 84 rounds for trainning or real style shooting for who ever wants it that way. Plus quality build i got to say. Nice bit of kit
