these newer high end eminance speakers will hold their tone longer and age better than the celestions. The Jesen speaker company is up there too but its all preference. Good thing about eminance is the price/material/quality ratio is amazing and their durable construction will have them lasting for years and years holding their sound beautifully
nice playing great tone. i love my avatar cabinet. Has a g12 and governor which covers all the lows and highs. The key is my george dennis mighy mouse 30 watt head.
I find when dealing with Eminence speakers you need to be careful with theirs speakers. Especially if you get "Fat bottom end" if you go to their website and you see that in the description be careful. Maybe would sound ok with strat pickups, give those pickups some body.
I am not a big fan of Eminence speakers in general as they just don't have the clarity that Celestions do but for your tone you make it work great! Very nice demo and excellent sound.. what kind of pickups are in your Strat? Thank you
My favorite eminence speakers are as follows; Red, White, and Blue, Tonkerlite, Legend V128, and Wizard. Very cool. Prefer celestion speakers, but the ones I previously mention are the best from eminence.
@PrsFenderJackson1980 May I ask a silly question? What's the difference between Celestion and eminence? I'm looking for a nice pair of speakers, I use a Fender Deville but I find it to bassy and muddy, I want something with more life, more like a crunchy-crystal-twangy sound. I play a Telecaster 72 custom.
hows the bass response on that speaker because i've got on eminence's website and that one definately sounds the best to me, but im a metal player so i was wondering if it could work for my style
Rotren, got to love your playing. The videos with the Valvetronix weren't very good as for some reason they all sounded the same, but the Mack and Reverend ones are awesome.
hey chief was lookin at wizard speakers and came across your vid, are you playing sofa no1 by frank zappa at around 1 minute onwards? sounds alot like it
Wizards are a good cross between a Vintage 30 and a Greenback. They have tighter bottom end and the balls of a Greenback, good raw mids and are not as strident in the highs as Vintage 30's. Plus in a 2x12 or 1X12 you have a higher watt cab, they are 75w each instead of 60w each for Vintage 30 and only 25w each for GB. The magnets on Wizards are massive and they can get as dirty loud as you want to push them.
Hi nice sound, but I have question I know metal isnt one of your main genres to play but do you think these would be good for it? or and suggestions I'm looking for a tight bass with more mids and highs and rather versatile because i love to play everything
Hi...I just bought a pair of wizards myself...they are on their way. I've heard they are good for mixing with other speakers for a nice full sound with a raw edge. I am pairing them with a set of Celestion G12K-100's. My main interest is Metal and classic rock. I'll keep you posted on how they do and maybe post a vid if your interested.
Sounds awesome thank you very much Ill keep them in mid over the black powder eminence speakers I found those were supposed to have extended highs and mds and a tight bass with raw edge so I dant know yet but Thank you very much
hey, im thinking about changing the speaker of my peavey studio pro 110 10" 65W. i've been thinkin about a Eminence Ragin' Cajun Patriot...but im not sure...how ever i like the sound of my amp, but it starts to 'buzz' with the low sounds.. and i dont crank it..i dont know whats wrong...i think it may be the speaker, thats the main reason i've been thinkin about changing it, can somebody help me??
Great playing and nice tone! Question... I'm thinking of replacing the stock speaker in my Fender Blues Junior with a speaker with great lows. I find the Blues Junior a little too bright for my taste. Do you think that the Eminence produces enough lows to complement the highs of the Blues Junior? Or at leas cut back on some of the highs of Blues Junior?
That is a good question, but I don't really know. Do some googling of blues junior and speaker swap or speaker change and see if you find something useful.
hi, i have 2 eminence wizards in my laney vc30 212 combo and they sound great!only problem i find when the treable is set to zero on my laney the sound is still quite bright and treabley! and i dont know if this is due to the wizards or the amp itself!do you find the wizards to be treabley on your amp? cheers...
My bro just got a Laney AOR 100 and he has access to way more treble than necessary (my Avenger has even more than his) . How's the VC30 combo, is it rad or what?
It's funny that you mention that cause that is exactly what I did. :) The Texas Heat has definitely done the job. The Blues Junior sounds great! Thanks for following up!
Nice jam!, say that looks like a players strat am I right? im curently geting an eminence speaker for my princeton, the old speaker is ready to bite the dust, sometimes it will hiss at you while playing lol
Never seen anybody with the same guitar as I have. Noice!

Sounds a little funky; have you tried Celestion G12 Vintage 30's (60 watts), or the Hellatone 60? It would be more clear and realistic sounding.
Surfn8565 1 year ago
@Surfn8565 I completely agree with you.. Eminence don't measure up to the speakers you mentioned..:)
I would love to hear this guy playing thru some serious gear..:)

Did you just tilt it on it's side, or can you actually order Avatar cabs so that the speakers are stacked vertically?

CELESTION is overpriced & less overall quality + lesser flexibel sound versatility compared even to their clones !
EMINENCE offers you more overall-quality & the most desired vintage clones for lesser price including EV-types, OK ?
Exept the cloning FANE is the other excellent choice ! HIWATT * LANEY * ORANGE beat original-marshall-BS by using them......
get my comparison-table of famous speaker-clones to save cash !!!

and can I use an extension cabinet with a head that does not have any other cabinet plugged in?
rockwizclown 3 years ago
Extension cabinet mean a separate cabinet. We usually use amp heads with these. Combo amps have the speaker(s) and amplifier in one single cabinet.
