I bought a Whirlpool washer, Model # 1CWTW4740YQ 8 cycle 2 speed top load washer that also has this start and stop button. Got all the necessary pipes attached and plugged it in. It does absolutely nothing! i hear the lid lock and 'fill' light is lit and it just sits there. after fiddling for a couple hours, it finally started filling with water. the different lights lit up showing that it was supposed to be washing, however it did not agitate or spin, the water just eventually drained out!
@libragirlification I'm sorry to hear about your experience! I'm very sorry to hear about this matter! Make sure you are using only HE detergent and the proper amount for the load size.
If that does not resolve your concerns please email me directly at Whirlpool.Digital@Whirlpool_._com (disregard the underscores). Please include your YouTube UserID, your full name, physical address, complete contact information, along with the model & serial number of the washer.
I just bought a new Estate TL washer made by Whirlpool, Model Number ETW4400XQ0. The water in the rinse cycle just barely covers the clothes. I used half the recommended (by Tide) amount of detergent, but the rinse water still comes out soapy. I also ran the wash through an extra whole cycle without detergent - still sudsy. I talked to the dealer who just shrugged his shoulders and said that's the way all washers are now. I am frustrated as I am allergic to detergent. Any comments appreciated.
WOW THAT IS JUNK!!!!!! DO NOT BUY THIS WASHER IT HORRIBLY STUPID AND TRASH!
WHY? BECAUSE THIS HAS ELECTRONICS! YOU CANNOT PAUSE THE CYCLE FOR AN HOUR! IT WILL DRAIN THE WATER IF PAUSE TO LONG!!! THE ELECTRONICS WILL ONLY LAST ONLY A MONTH THEN IT WILL BRAKE! I WOULD STICK WITH A REGULAR DIRECT DRIVE WASHER! THIS WASHER TAKES AGES TO WASH YOUR CLOTHES! WARNING THIS WASHER JUNK... I WOULD RECOMMEND STICKING WITH YOUR OLD WASHER! IT WILL LAST LONGER THAN THIS... -_-
I am sorry to hear about your dissatisfaction with your washer. If you are needing assistance please email us directly at Whirlpool.Digital@Whirlpool_._com (disregard the underscores).
Please include your YouTube user ID, your full name, the model and serial number of your washer along with your complete contact information and the physical address where the washer is located.
These new Whirlpool-made machines just don't wash like the older models do. They take forever, futzing-around with the load, and don't use enough rinse water to flush-out detergent. I would rather have a Speed Queen top-loader, those are old-fashioned, well-built machines! There's nothing like 'em!
I am sorry to hear about your dissatisfaction regarding your washer. My recommendation would be to visit our website then visit the "Owners Section" then Product Help and follow the troubleshooting help.
If that does not help please email us directly at Whirlpool.Digital@Whirlpool_._com disregard the underscores. Please include your Youtube username, complete physical address, model and serial number, along with the best phone number to reach you at.
Who has time to jerk around .. Like that with a washer .. This video is all wrong .. Washers today are simple not complicated like they make it seem in this video
Depends upon the model of the washer. If you would like me to look into a specific model please email me directly at Whirlpool.Digital@Whirlpool_._com disregard the underscores. @WhirlpoolCorpCare I didn't buy another top-loader, I got a Samsung WA448AAW in May 2010. if I could have two washers, the SQ would be my choice, I don't like the strange sounds of the new Whirlpool-made top-loaders, nor the spin-spray rinsing! HATE IT!
This particular machine is a belt driven machine. We do still manufacture some models that are direct drives though to answer your question. Please let me know if you have any other questions you may have regarding our washers.
Great vid Whirlpool!! Love the new "belt-drive" washers!! Very much improved over the old direct drives! They are a joy to sell as well. Thankyou for such a AWESOME product!
Explain this to me: Why did you close the Maytag plants in newton and herrin? BECAUSE WHIRLPOOL WANTS ALL THERE SPIN OFFS TO THEMSELVES! and they werent making any money of parts when washers usto work for 15 years without so much as a belt change!
We manufacture several different models with various features and designs in trying to provide washers that not only meet increasing government restrictions on energy usage but will be versatile in meeting the needs of most of our users while still providing the best performance in the industry. We regret if some operating characteristic or feature is unsatisfactory, and we apologize for any inconvenience this concern has caused you.
The best performances were the "old" washers ones!!! The ones wich REALLY wash and flush clothes through the water!!! Do not let me talk about HE and front loader wich are the hugest crap on the market you can find, if you look on craiglist more than half ads are of people that is selling their brand new front loader and HE because they're bored by! These washers does not get clothes clean!!! Thanks for response anyway.
@jmc6000 Open your eyes......believe I'm not the one who need to open the eyes! They really wash? I don't think so, and like me many other people think the same, these washers as well as HE and front loaders just leave your clothes as dirty as you put in it, they does not move and flush clothes properly like old washers did , like a washer MUST to do!!! These do a kind of "slow stirring" just damping your clothes and leaving them as dirty as they were!
@MrFreddy2189 I really don't know who these "many other people" are, but all of the ones I have sold these washers too love how they clean and plus there are many reviews out there by people who say these washer do a very effective job at cleaning.
And much more reviews of people saying: "who the hell made me do to buy this?", I personally know a LOT of people, anyway.....let's talk about us not others, I conclude everything saying and suggesting to people in need of a new washer to look for an old model one, they fortunately still can be find for others brands for Ex .Speed Queen!

Hi my name is Kyle and I am a representative of Maytag. I am sorry to learn of the issue you are having with your appliance. If there is anything that I can do please reach out to me via Facebook (Maytag) or Twitter (MaytagCare). Or contact us directly via e-mail Maytag_Digital@maytag.com.
@WhirlpoolCorpCare I dont like the way it cleans my clothes, its noisy, belt drive and most of all i just hate the fact the whirlpool took away all the good reliable Maytags just because they were to good and they werent making any money off long lasting dependable washers were they because washers were good and lasted too until whirlpool started making appliances designed with flaws so that they can make money off parts and new machines every year!
@WhirlpoolCorpCare might as well remove the Maytag logo because Maytag's arent Maytags anymore!! oh and thats not all i have to say, you discontinued all direct drives!!!! why? because belt drive saves people a few bucks on the energy bill? well i tell you one thing is it good for the environment when you have to junk these new washers every 4 years? you couldn't just leave well enough alone and make your stupid front loaders but keep the good old reliable direct drive washers going???!!!
@sincladutch Why keep the old, lod and NOISY design that tears up cloths and it not very effective in how they wash them as well. You live the stone age bud, you might as well clean your cloths against a rock if you use the old-school DD washers! This new design is MUCH more realiable than the old DDs were, I know beacause I sell the news ones and no problems at all compared to the old DDs.
@jmc6000 If a direct drive washer is tearing up clothing, then it is being used wrong. Remember, ours is 21 years old now and still working perfectly. If this machine was damaging our clothes, we would not have kept it for 21 years. Plus, it is a 3-Speed model, so delicates are never a problem.
@jmc6000 im not even talking about the direct drives im saying that they are shit and they took over maytag and actually they were quiet for the most part. at least they had steady agitation not start stop start stop. the old belt drive maytags from 1980-2006. but stupid whirlpool took them over!!!! and for what reason:Because they wanted to take all the quality appliances away. Before i got one of these stupid belt drives a had a good direct drive kenmore from 1986. yes old but a good washer!
@sincladutch If you want a good Maytag (if that's what you're looking for), go with one of the old Dependable Care models. I used those at a laundromat, and at friend's house and they do a superb job of cleaning. Curious, what went wrong with your 1986 Kenmore?
@Sharkie626 My 1986 Kenmore stopped draining and it would immediately start spinning instead of first draining then spinning. I still have it outside with a tarp over it just in case i needed it and i think im just going to bring that one back in and get it fixed unless its the motor or transmission.
@sincladutch That is a problem with the neutral pak inside your transmission. this vid here.... /watch?v=ieZ5y47TAMk should somewhat help you! It really isnt TOO difficult to fix. If need be, you can buy a new transmission. I do believe that the cost for it is not all that bad. You should check out the channel: Repair Clinic, that will definitely help you with that.
@jmc6000 oh and by the way i put my BRAND NEW kenmore belt drive on ebay because i couldn't take it anymore. i wash my clothes in the tub and it cleans more effectively than that washer did! now im searching for a good old quiet 90s maytag that i can depend on! i hate u whirlpool i will never buy new appliances again!

This washer seems to use as much water as a normal top loading washer. You even have to choose your own water level! It just agitates different.

The old school washers are the best. I just got rid of my front loader and got me a speed queen. They are old school and wash very good.
