I don't believe in the whole thing about tribes having "peace with the rainforest" I just think that they did what they needed to in order to survive. Now the demands are just higher.
This is the price we pay for having "educated" the Congolese out of the forests and into our own corrupt way of life. They used to live in harmony with the forests that would sustain them and their families for generations into the future, but our interference has led to this heart-rending destruction of our brothers and sisters of the earth, the trees. The delicate balance of nature is like love; we cannot improve it, or increase its value or productivity, we can only live by its laws.
