It's funny how Nikon has sent you their new line up of Mirrorless cameras. They aren't selling them, not because they aren't good, but because they are entirely way over priced. Especially the J1. The V1 is actually a decent camera. Would rather have a d3100. - Pro Photog, D3s User

It seems like a camera just to blow $600 on. I never could understand mini cameras with removable/mount lenses, they take up just as much room with a lens on as would a t2i would and 1 is harder to hold since its smaller.

Cameras have become completely and utterly disposable (like laser printers). It's the lenses (like toner cartridges) that have people locked in and taking it up the back-end. So yes, targeting interchangeable lens cameras to the low-end market is marketing 101.

I have the Sony one, Nex-5 and it's a really good camera. I almost bought the Nikon instead the Sony one but i think that Sony has more experience in EVIL cameras that Nikon. However, in my opinion, Nikon is the best with reflex cameras together with Canon. I'm sure that, within a year, Nikon will improve their EVIL cameras strongly.

Great review Mike, you've really found your niche with quality camera videos with added humour. Gordon Laing does good camera reviews but he's a little dry and formal.

Re the Nikon 1 J1: its a wee beauty, i would consider it if it had a hotshoe, as i have a few Nikkor lenses and sometimes dragging a DSLR about is a pain.
