  • ROTOTOTOTOTOTO- DADDY-DIE-UGH

  • Rough landing, not, bad landing. "Bad landing" is one you don't walk away from.

  • are u a pilot

  • That was way too fast.

  • :20 the circus has just arrived!!!

  • LMAO ..this is fffing hilarious

  • uh bad job. What language is this btw?

  • @Julman75

Yo dawg y u harpin on my couzin? He be chineze and Cubano. Jerk...

  • OH-to to to to to to daddy daddy oh!

  • That landing sucked!

  • If you place your prompter on :17 and click it every three seconds, the devil will come to your house......really.

  • Is your dad used to landing at wider/longer runways? This can happen to anyone who tries to land on a shorter narrow runway who is used to longer/wider runways. It's a matter of perception. He recovered things well. These things happen all the time, and they can happen to anyone.

  • @RicardoNY1 I was just going to say the same thing when I saw this... I trained at CDW, which has some pretty big runways, and occasionally landed at smaller fields like Aeroflex (12N) which looked TINY after CDW... Had to fight the urge to continue descending...

  • Well... at least the tires didn't blow out!

  • hahahahh wow well at least you made an attempt to stop it

  • I don't know what he was saying at 0:18, but I'm guessing it had something to do with sink rate :)

  • @Tomcat101alum

the guy is on short final, the landing checks should have been done in the downwind. You could offer some inciteful comments instead.

  • @Tomcat101alum Dude, a checklist would in no way shape or form help with to shallow of a flare.

  • OMG way too fast on approach - gotta watch the airspeed indicator REAL close guys.

  • this reminds me of many flight simulator x or 2004 videos on youtube

    REMEMBER KIDS, FLARE!

  • Very instructive video. Thanks a lot for that one. It feels like you were landing too fast or on a tailwind?

  • Any pilot who hasn't bounced just like you did is lying. We all learn from our mistakes.

  • @forestryprof i never did, sorry chap

  • Second on the trim setting

  • @bijan41796 No but it ensures you have no extra trim in when landing.

  • Impressive bounce...looked like you guys got a good 6-8 ft back in the air.

So how many hours does your dad have?

  • Back then he probably had ~ 80hrs; now we're both tied at ~120.

  • lol i didnt think somebody could say "up" so fast!

  • lool the man sounds like he listened to too much ringtones xDD

  • interesting video. i'm not a pilot but i have pilots in my family and i want to get my license soon! your reaction time was impressive, you were saying up up up right when he should have started flaring. i'm glad everything is okay!

  • good landing man.. this cessna is retractil gear now?

  • cessnas are good for people like you

  • haha nice one

  • haha... its difficult to butcher a landing in a 172, but apparently its possible

  • Let's be pragmatic. If the aircraft is still usable, the landing is acceptable.

  • yeh but u can take some hours off due to high G landings. I have a friend who did that once through aero's.

  • how does this guy have his license?

  • LMAO!!! HAhaa that was great .."up up up daddy oh!! HA!! I almost fell out of my seat laughing so hard!

  • hope it was a rental :)

  • he said up up up up daddy ohhhhh how dumb are you people?

  • haha, "Closed Captioning provided by gescoboza"

  • rofll

  • Bloody hell what was that !!

And what was that guy say......TTTTTT..tt.Aaa.aaaa YY..yy.ooo.: what does that mean!!

  • I learned the value of nose-up trim in FS2004. I was having the same problem, you get acclimated to yoke position on landing when you keep doing it, and when you forget your trim, the yoke may feel natural but the ground rushing up to you says something different. A last-minute cope would be more backpressure on the yoke.

  • FS isent realistic when it comes to landing the thing.

  • hahaha, i've been once at that airport, but rwy33 was in use. Had to made mi first approach a go-around... kinda tiny and tricky that rwy, the next appr nailed it nicely.

  • Approach angle and speed looked shallow and speed looked high. I bet he forgot to put in flaps. Stall warning horn went off just before touchdown so he had sufficient flair, maybe just a bit high in the flair and sunk into the runway. I also didn't see much crosswind correction.

  • You lost your bet; flaps were at 30 deg.

  • From a Ryanair pilot sat in the Stansted crew room with all his mates...

    LMFAO!!!!!!! DADDY NO!! lol sorry...

  • Looked like too much speed mixed in with no flare. I think if he held it off for another few seconds it would have been fine. I have even bounced, not quite that high, but I have.

  • 60-65kts- I think

  • You flared too soon. Don't shoot for the numbers. Let her go a bit, use all the runway you have. Did you have your flaps set? Not so bad, we all have to learn. Keep working on it!

  • My dad did it; not me. He didn't flare at all; it touched down hard on the nose gear, and that's why it bounced.

It's only a 2,400ft runway so you don't have much.

  • @bijan41796 only 2400'? you dont have to worry about running out of runway with a 172 on that. we have all seen worse landings from pilots with more time than 80. it happens.

  • Too Fast

  • thats the worst landing ever

  • You try it

  • im a private pilot. It seems as if you dad was trying to land to close to the beginning of the runway. Even if he had flared correctly, touchdown still would have been fairly early. A good rule of thumb is to try and shoot for about one third of the way down the runway. In addition, landing a third of the way down is a good buffer for engine failure. If you ever lose your engine on final, you will still have some altitude to help get you to the runway.

  • Or- you could shoot for where you want the plane to land, preferably towards the threshold. If your concerned about loosing an engine, then just pretend like your landing over an obstacle (keep it high and slip or use full flaps to get down) Remember: You can't use any runway before your touchdown point; landing at the threshold gives you a greater margin of safety. (I'm a pilot also)

  • I'm not trying to attack you or be rude but that's unnecessary and can put you in a bad situation if you're not touching down til the 1/3 to 1/2 of the runway. It's putting you in a nasty situation if something goes wrong, like running out of runway. In my opinion, and the way that i have been taught is to fly at the numbers for a good glide slope then reference the end of the runway to judge your descent through the final stage of the landing.

  • lol.. I love the uppup thingy.... it develops as the situation lol... we have all had our shameful landings.. by the way, I love you flying with your dad.. I hope I can fly with my son one day.. when I have him of course..

  • This is a tricky airport to land at especially for a beginner.

  • Don't feel bad, my ex killed a Cherokee six on a three bouncer at Albert Whitted. The Spinner flew 120 feet into Tampa bay which gives you an idea of how bad those bounces were. More proof dont let a girl fly

  • this is why Americans should fly in AMERICA

  • What's all this talk of foreigners and Americans? Last I checked there were pilots across the world and all of 'em make mistakes! I've not yet seen proof that one country's training is better than another (and I've flown with 'em all)!

  • I'm confused as well

  • Sublime, that was a PERFECT quote. Tears are rolling down my face from ROFL !!

  • This is EXACTLY why foreigners should stay OUT of the cockpit.

  • way to go.... nice and smooth

  • hahha

    uppauppauppauppaadaddydahhOH

  • lolololol that's EXACTLY what he said!

  • "Up", as in, pull up, level off, flare, etc.

  • the spring steel in the landing gear will bend backwards so the body hits the ground before it breaks. cessna = ultimate newbie plane!

  • Actually, the newer(>1970's) have a tubular steel landing gear. The nose gear will collapse before the main gear dose anyway.

  • Did this break the landing gear?

  • No, these planes will take a lot of abuse.
