  • Do we keep using the toothbrush on the bump until the bump dissapers?

  • @toushiro555 yes, repeat daily. (I have gone twice daily on bad ones and it worked well.)

  • @kaylapaiam@ what's the drug called?

  • great video... will try your tips... :)

  • see heres my problem I have disgustingly curly hair especialy on my face. any advice for the hopelessly curly?

  • @scumbuddy yes, use a razor with as few blades as possible, make a really good lather, do not shave against the grain.

  • @mantic59 k thanks ill give it a try

  • @mantic59 hey another question, I ues a straight razor now but its one with replaceable blades, you know the ones you have to break in half to put them in the razor. I just want to know is ther a proper way to break the blades in half? you know what I mean?

  • i've had issue with this for a long time and found this video very helpful. thank you!

  • Great upload, thanks for the insight!

  • hi man can you plz send me an url or info of were to wach some other old vids like this with the man climbing the tree? i liked very much the tecknick:) thank you

  • hey im tired of buying gillete's stupid mach 27 blades, I want a cheap safety razor (50 bucks or less), please recommend me one.

  • omg why has he got foam on his lips?

  • I'm Latino & I have this problem as well. But I get them in the back of my neck it so irritating. I was using BUMP STOPPER 2 & they would go away, but would return if I stopped using it. I would buy the stuff at Walmart or Target but now they don't carry it any more at least where I live.

  • Will ingrown hairs grow back normally? Do I have to deal with them or can I leave them to sort themselves out, and in the future shave with better technique?

  • @XiaoPow after treatment ingrowns will *usually* grow back normally, unless you have very curly hair

  • ATG stands for Against The Grain.

  • You definitely know what you're talking about. The using a single blade is 100% effective (as far as I'm concerned) & I'm gonna try exfoliating with my old toothbrush. Shall I use the aspirin/paracetamol before or after shaving & can you recommend something to mix it with 'cause it doesn't stay on with water

  • Whats a good single blade razor i get tonnes of ingrown hairs..

  • @trema12345 Try the Bic Metal razor. It has to be be BIC METAL. This a single blade razor, the blade is SUPER SHARP an it has a metal guard. The problem is not many stores carry them you might have to order online. Usually $3 for a 5 pack.

  • wtf?!?!?! i have it like right next by my penis its not cancer or anything because im 14 years old and i went to the docters and they said its a ingrown hair

  • how should i use shaving oil? i made my own with canola oil tea tree and eucalyptus oil. whats the process of putting it on. and would i was it off with soap and cold water after the shave to put my after shave on? because i want to use my aftershave the oil is just a pre shave tool for me lol. ooo and will those oils harm the brush? i read that that's basically whats in a lot of shaving oils so i figured it was OK. do you know?

  • lol @ men of colour ahaha

  • I have always struggled with this. Do you think that with proper prep and technique it its possible to eliminate ingrown hairs shaving ATG?

  • @salazch12 no guarantees but it works with many people.

  • @salazch12 __what does ATG stand for, please?

  • I heard that single blades work better than several blades. Why is this?

  • @MrLukec16 multiple blades tug on the skin pulling the hair out prematurely. That can create an ingrown hair

  • the "aspirin" solution is often used in dermatology, it's softens keratinous layer of skin. wel, just wanted to say it's no mumbo-jumbo, it really works.

  • Hey mantic59,

Really like all your videos, very informative. I'm thinking on getting a new DE, can you recomend a good and easy model? ($50 -$100 budget), Also do you think a DE will help on combating ingrown hairs? I get them around my cheeks. I've tryed The art of Shaving and Menscience with a 5 blade razor, and still get them. I shave in the shower with the grain and against, but no matter what they show up. going crazy here!

Why dont you use the pre-shave oil?

    thanks for your help.

  • The few times I used a single blade razor,it tore my face up.Maybe it was a cheap razor. What razor do you recommend?

  • @napalm940 probably not the razor but the blade. Be sure to try a variety: they're not all made the same.

  • @mantic59 Thanks for the info.

  • SUBSCRIBED!!!

  • after I shave I put after shave on and is there anything else I should put on cuz my skin always gets dry

  • If a hair offends you, pluck in out.

  • Im building the ultimate shaving experience i got my perfect single blade stick and blades, my gilettes Mach 3 and 5, got the lather, and the gillete preface scrubs would u recomennd me using compressed air to remove the hair instead of water

  • @highjump44 no compressed air would not work nearly as well.

  • I have to agree with your preventative part. As a person of color (lol, political correctness), I always had ingrown hairs after shaving. Once my brother taught me about wet shaving and I went through your videos. I noticed that I haven't had an ingrown hair on my face at all in weeks.

  • why only single blade razors?

  • @wardubo the "lift and cut" action of multi-blade razors can promote ingrown hairs

  • Why, men of color? Does it matter what race you are? I had no idea.

  • @tmib92 dark skinned men generally have curlier hair which is more suseptable to ingrowns.

  • using an electric razor, i've never experienced an ingrown hair. you wet shavers seem to get them all the time.

  • Hello, I really like your videos. The ending is also very nice (Thanks for being with us...). Please keep it

  • AMAZING. How does he know all this? he said he's not a barber. maybe he just KNOWS a lot of barbers, lol. good job mantic, but how can you tell between an ingrow hair and just a pimple without a head on it? it's tough.

  • never seen acetylsalicylic acid in any of my shave-related product, but i have seen normal salicylic acid. while aspirin is the same as acetylsalicylic acid, normal salicylic acid is actually a completely different compound than aspirin, since it lacks the aldehyde functional group (salicylic acid's only got a hydroxyl group instead)

my question would be: what difference does that functional group make in chemical exfoliation?

  • mantic is back, good to see another informative video, thanks

  • I just found 2 ingrown hairs this week and was wondering about this. Perfect! And welcome back, hope you're felling well.

  • AWESOME guess whose back... back again... Mantics back.... helping men

  • @bigbadbyrnes That should be his theme song lol

  • I watched a solid video that suggested two things... One, use an exfoliating face wash to remove the top layer of skin and then moisturizing before the next time you shave. This exposes the ingrown hairs and gives your skin time to heal. The other suggestion was to put the aftershave on 10-15 minutes AFTER your shave as opposed to immediately after in order to stop the skin from healing over the hair. What is your take on this?

  • Thanks for the toothbrush idea - I'll have to try that one! Great video as always.

  • Great video, thank you!

  • Great video like always! Most seem to get ingrowns on their neck areas. For me , shaving with a Fusion razor seems to help when going ATG.

  • More great advice... Thanks Mantic, I'll have to give these a shot. Any idea why the aspirin works?

  • Profit187 - it reduces the swelling

  • @mantic59 - salicylic acid works as an exfoliator, sloughing off the dead skin cells above the ingrown hair, and allowing it to release.

  • @mantic59

oh also can blades (the ones for safety razors) dull over time even if they were never used? that might be my problem because as i said i tried the safety razor we have and it cuts decent but not enough at all to see the results that i see you getting. do they dull over time?

  • Aspirin inhibits the enzyme cyclooxygenase which is involved in the body's inflammatory response. Stop cyclooxygenase, reduce inflammation.

  • Good advice Mantic, ingrown hairs are a problem, i'll give your suggestions a try.

  • like mantic said, prevention is key to avoiding ingrowns. Don't set yourself up for uneeded grief.

  • And shaving at precisely 6:05am keeps you from getting ingrown hairs too.

  • It's great that this works for you but for lots of people shaving requires more effort.

  • Fair enough, but why subscribe to a wet-shaving channel if you're not interested? C'mon - you're amongst friends here; you can admit to being a real man and shaving the RIGHT way.... ;-)

  • great vids as usual,,very good tips i also have some sort of allergy to my cheeks when ever i shave i might try this method hopefully it works

    cheers

    ahmad

  • Thank you for another useful video. Great to see you are still producing them!!

For me its always been the "against the grain" thats caused all my problems, once I learned simply not to do it the ingrown's have gone away!

  • Thank you for the tip good Sir! I am a man of color. Nothing seems to work for me. I use a Mach 3 and a Merkur Futur.. But nothing eliminates my shave bumps.

  • Try pre-shave oil. I'm a generic white guy, but have similar facial hair to African Americans on my neck, thick and curly. I started using some pre-shave oil on my neck and face and have noticed a drastic decrease in ingrown hairs.

  • @lettersfromtheleft

What kind of pre-shave oil would you reccoment.?

  • Personally I use the pre-shave oil from Art of Shaving, its a bit pricey but I noticed a great improvement in my shave quality. I have heard good things about baby oil but I haven't tried it yet.

  • my two cents: kiehl's "Close-Shavers" Shaving Formula #31-O. its "rinseable oil" of rosemary and other essentials. it defies logic, but works very well

  • Agree. Using pre-shave oil can help reduce ingrown hairs. It does for me (using AOS pre-shave oil, but I think any good pre-shave oil should do the job).

  • keep 'em coming!

  • Gotta love the Mantic videos, thank you good Sir!

  • Thanks for the tips!

  • Mantic is back !!!!!

  • Glad to see a new video! Five stars
