ooooo this looks damn good! Always love to see a fellow fanatic devoted to his passion! But you better watch out! Some butt-monkey of a neighbor might report you to the politically correct government for suspicious behavior and generally being a lot more cool than they could ever hope to be! lol Leave it to the collectors, the fans and the free market place to come up with idea's and concepts that just put Hollywood to shame! The wrong people are running the movie industry! This is brilliant!
are you useing the belts for driveing your tracks? then use a free wheel to take the slack out of the belt to drive the tracks for steering, same as a rideing lawn mower does for the blades? (a belt clutch?)
@1crazyfocker The "Drive Belt" is actually been modified. The modification isn't in this video. The actual item driving the wheels are chain bolted to segments of belting. Yes you are correct the belting acts like a clutching material. If you look at Gizmo4t videos he lays out the process for construction..... Best Regards...
i want to build a tiger 1 or 2 or the panther and i'm 15 and i know a little about engins and, i'm takeing woods class, and i'v failed metals, platics, and i wanna build one big enough so when i sit in it my head and body dont stick out of the hatch and i told my grandparents and they are yelling at meeeeeeee......
@MrSonic935 Just so you know, building one of these things is not cheap. I have a considerable amount of cash invested in the Tiger. Before you go all out and have your grandparents really screaming at you, do your home work. Get a good education and then a good paying job! Then you will be able to build one with the resorces required. Until then plan out your build and plan carefully. And when you buy a little at a time it isn't so bad on the cash funds... Best of luck to you on your project...
@valttu94 I had the 3/4" plywood for the belly pan laying around and used it. I believe I bought 4 sheets of 1/2" osb for around $8.00 U.S. a sheet. I will most likely have to purchase at least one more sheet. That should be about it. The most espensive part is the engine and all the drive mechanism, and of corse the steel.....
@afterlyfe33 I used a 1/16th scale model and scaled it up. Take a look at Gizmo4t video's, they have all the information on how to build your own scaled tank.....
@RichardLvsHisBabys I am working on it as I can. I have just about completed some improvements to my workshop. I will post a video when I get it completely finished. I dont think you will be disappointed.....
this is incredable.. u sir r completely what i tried and failed at! :D never was able to find an engine and i built the structure wrong but the body was flawless king tiger tank
I'm into WWII re-enactment. I play as a Germna grenadeer. I love tiger tanks alway's have. I love watching this thing come togather a peace at a time . this guy is realy takeing the time to do it right ! I realy want to see the end result. Just wondering if another fella was to try this how much has this tank cost you so for and how much time have you put into it thus far ?
@Herbymac0811 The most expensive part of this build was the diesel engine. Since I am fabricating all of the other parts the cost is kept down. Of course steel and plywood and hdpe pipe, it all adds up pretty fast. If I had to guess what I have in it, I would say around 3,000.00 at this point. Give or take a few hundred. I have found that if you do alittle at a time, with the cost spred out over time. The wife tends to turn a blind eye...LOL...... Hope this helps. Best Regards.
@Herbymac0811 I'm afraid I don't have any (blue prints) just a few idea's on paper. There is alot of folks doing excellent work with turbo cad and scetch up. All you really need is a good dial or electric micrometer and a scale model to work off of. My work is based off of Gizmo4t video's. If you review his video's. You will know how to put one of these together yourself. Also go to Scaledtanks. It is the best site on the web for do it your selfers... I hope this info helps. Best of luck..
@ModelbuildingTANKS Thank you for your kind words. Yes I have worked on some british armored vehicles for a friend of mine who imported them into the states. It was alot of fun clanking around in the woods with the ferrets.....
@nazitom28 I am hoping to have it rolling under its own power by next spring. So hopefully by mid summer I will have it looking like a Tiger. Depends on alot of factors. Sorry I can't give you an exact date. Keep checking back I am working on a short update video... Best Regards
@1995marines You can find out all the info you need to build your own. Check out Gizmo4t videos here. Dave has laid out all the info and how too's in his video's.
Hello bartschultz Looks like the toughest part of this project now will be the construction of both final drive sprockets. Man that bending exactly of the individual spokes sounds kindof scary. Or will they be made of a cast aluminum, maybe gocart type rims then machine for cosmetic appearance ? Things always seemed clearer if you take time to catch a bluegill or a crappie; just because. Seeya from 70bonnie 5/16/10.
