Its weird how people who don't have addictions can't understand it. To me, its simple and complicated at the same time. People get addicted for many reasons. I personally used drugs for an escape, and of course, they felt great and numbed me to things I didn't want to face. For a few years, drugs worked really great. Now, I'm facing the consequences. I am 26 and I've been to 5 rehabs and I still have trouble understanding how to live sober. Its WAY harder than I thought. Its easy to be high.

That Keri Ann, for example, is obviously either bi-polar, has a personality disorder or perhaps both, and yet he continually filters all her aggressive behavior and her fights with staff as being a consequence of her addiction/withdrawal. Anyone who watches this show for more than ten minutes can see that she has other issues, severe ones. Rehabs that use that disease model of addiction all tend to overlook the psychiatric stuff.
@ritter89 and what is your qualification? Drew is a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and a specialist in Addiction medicine.. I'm sure he knows what he is doing!

I am hooked on Celebrity Rehab. I've become so interested in the struggle of these people. Most of them are good people who got a very rough start in life and are predispositioned to addiction. I want to see them "win". I do think it's a valuable insight into just what a battle addiction is.
finally someone who is educated and not just another loud mouth on here talking smack llike "these people are all loser who deserve what they get" atleast dr.drew is teaching a few people out there about this disease... I recommend reading his book Cracked..you will learn so much more about addiction
