Glad you appreciated it! People tend to just assume that the first person they hear play a song is the writer. . . although if they'd listen to the track on Unplugged, Kirt Cobain says it's a Leadbelly song.

it dates back pre Ledbelly as a folk song. just led was the first to sing it in a can.
