I was born with ankylosing spondylitis that developed at an early age in my hips, and I'm an engineering student with, so I have a lot of interest in leg enhancing technology, i really love concepts such at this that are so simple in design however I don't think I could never use such a device because the impulse on my leg would cause them to become inflamed, any idea on how to cancel out impulse force to prevent wear on joints?
@iknowmy3table U might try using an exoskeleton from with powered and/or shock-absorbing pivot point joints.at the hip. the exoskeleton would probably need to go up to at least the waist in your case or even higher, to by pass the putting so much load on your hip joints.
I think Powerisers may be faster. I can't tell for sure, though. Do you know? I got Powerisers and I'm afraid to sprint because one time I fell over running and knocked myself out through a helmet. If you know for sure, pls tell me.
powerizers/power stilts movwe you at 22 mph, these move at 25. these were designed to jump further per step, for in disaster situations where the floor beneath you might be few and far between... but what it REALLY does is let you run long distances without tiring, which the power stilts dont do.
pistons boots lot less safer and expensive to keep running, but theres trade off's either way. civilians will be better suitted with powerizers, piston boots need more work.
not the jogger is running at 1/4 the speed and at more the twice the pace of the runner wearing the power boots. You can be sure his oxygen requirements are significantly less than if he had to run at that speed, if he even could, with out the boots.
i know this invent posted 30 years ago -i have that old tech magazine -finaly, done , but chum running not so fast i expected -why? that's all what he can?
"running not so fast i expected -why? that's all what he can?"
He appears to trotting. And he appears to not be a trained runner. It may be a different situation if he was running at full sprint and an olympic runner with them on. Even so, he is running at sprint speed, at casual walking pace.

It would SUCK if he tripped

i think i figured out a way to boost the power of those boots without bigger pistons but the fuel i would need costs alot more

No matter if they are Rocket-Boots, Piston-Boots or whatever, I think using them would quite be fun^^

Had a set
Energy requirements to maintain that speed are *massive* not possible for more than 20-25 seconds
Pegasus202 3 years ago
really... you know these are powered by diesel and aren't like those pro jumps or whatever they are. Light cushioning down and combustion upwards.

they need fuel, but you can fuel it with pretty much anything, ecofuels, diesel, cooking grease, waste fuels, etc.

Wait... I checked the other vids and they need fuel? Powerisers are way cooler, sry, even if you can't run as fast.
IMPERATORTIBERIVS 4 years ago 2
these are made so you can run 100 miles and not get tired, not to jump high
SlavaVB 3 years ago
i think initially they were made for Soviet infantry to attack faster. a cool stuff though. how much it costs?

maybe we could see them being used in a marathon run as a test for speed and distance endurance.

It looks like he i going about 25 miles per hour. Speed can be increased with longer legs and faster steps.
