...a fan with my knowledge would know and say that without the chase, Jimmie Johnson was NOTHING. It was a good year (especially earlier in the year like this crash) for those who don't like the 48 to see him crash.
@KKFan9 2002- finished 5th in points. 2003 - finished 2nd in points. 2004 - finished 2nd in points. 2005 - finished 5th in points. 2006-2011 - There is no doubt he would of won at least once, or more. In Johnson' first 5 years without the chase, he finished in the top5 at the end of the year 4/5 times, the chase just sped up how fast the championship would come.

@snikerscamry18 He always has slumps in the middle of the season. Right around Indianapolis he hits his stride and consistently starts winning and getting to5s. The reason he's had a feast or famine season (3 wins), is because he's in a good enough points position that him and Chad are being very aggressive with how he drives the car, and what set ups will work. So come chase time, they will KNOW exactly what they've got to work with. Where as you have some people who aren't pushing as hard as

Darlington he had a fast car, he had Dover dominated till he sped, and he was top5 easily at Charlotte until he first hit the wall.
Jimmie Johnson is a 10 race champion & a product of NASCAR's chase. It's a shame that NASCAR considers their champion somebody that ran well for just 10 races.
