  • Now then: I am sat here watching this, Boxing day morning, eating 'Cadbury's Heroes' out of a round thin guage steel tin, (that's what I had for Christmas) just wondering what to do with the tin.................

But will 'she who must be obeyed' notice if a fork goes missing from he kitchen?

  • @harryfaber Oh, it's just a fork. There's must be lots of 'em. hahaha.

  • also is the gas can one 4 or 5 strings?

  • @Lawnisg0tmail All of mine are 5 string. I don't play 4 string..

  • would i be able to do something like this with four strings?

also i love the way this looks

  • @Lawnisg0tmail You can do 4 strings if you can play 4 strings..

  • Brilliant. Thanks for sharing this, I really enjoy listening to people who are so good at making music from the most basic things!

  • Ol man I thank you very much. I could not offord a new banjo, I came across your videos a while ago and learned how to make one for very little expense... Thank you so much mister!

  • @SludgeTonic You're wecome.. Glad that worked out for ya..

  • what is that tuning??!

  • @curryspcie Hard to tell.. I tend to just twist around on the pegs to come up with somethin' different and I've sold that particular can now so you might just have to search it out..

  • Hells teeth Sir, you are fantastic. A thousand thanks for your talent and for sharing with us ordinary banjo players. Best wishes Keith

  • @tenchangler1 Shux! Thanks.

  • rock on, good sir

  • I loved this video. I couldn't believe it was an oil can that gave that great sound!

  • @ystorm Thank You!

  • this is awesome, do you have a video of that tune on a regular banjo?

  • @iamzim69 No I don't actually. I was just twisting the strings around to see what weird sounds I could come up with and this came out..

  • this sounds incredible, do you have a video of that tune on a regular banjo?

  • THIS IS AWEESSSOOOOOOMMMMMMMEEEEEEE!!!!!!

  • What was that tune? This oil can sounds better than the gas can did. How about a metal garbage can? Could that be a bass? Where are you? I see the old wood stove, and it looks like you are in an old farmhouse somewhere. In the Appalachians?

    What is your name, buddy?

  • @astrolog7000 That's a tune I made up. Yea the oil can sounded pretty good. I find that every can has it's own sound. I sold that one to a guy here on youtube. I don't sell them very often, but I let that one go. I'll build more.. after a while.. I'm in Maine.

  • THAT

    is true music.

  • @JMB177 Thanks!

  • Wow..!!! Sweet Canjo that is a very nice take on it...Do You sell your Art..? I have a band mate who is teaching me Claw hammer , He would trip out to own one. Take Care Nice Playing by the way... eerily haunting..you can see the Smoky Mountains

  • @MrTimaines I don't make 'em to sell, but I've got videos up telling how to make 'em..

  • how much do you cost to make a oil or gas can banjo?

  • wow. what a great sound! keep up the good work.

  • i like the inventiveness, this is the first time ive seen someone play on a gas can..it sounds great, your a wonderful musician

  • Beautiful work, brother. nice tuning.

  • Dude you inspire me.

  • @xRevoIver Thank You!

  • You are the MAN! Did you make that banjo? I want to get one!

  • @Rogermiler Yep.. I made it..

  • wow that sound is haunting

  • @ibid Thank You!

  • whats song is that ur playing id love to learn it

  • @wrestlerq524 Just somethin' I made up.. Don't think I gave it a name, but it sounds like a worrisome song.. We could call it that.. hahahah..

  • hey did you tune it in e minor?

  • That was great, never seen oil can banjo

  • You are an amazing man!!!!!

  • Shux! Thank You..

  • just great!!

    cheers!!

  • thats was awesome ur definatly gettin a friend request

  • Thank you...

  • Got a new set of strings and made some new friends at a local music store I've never been in. Turns out one of the guys there plays banjo.

  • 'Magine that.. hahha. Now all we gotta do is get you clawhammerin'..

  • I need to give clawhammer a try again.

  • Yes you do..

  • Found some of my old music from back when I was in Raleigh and I'm trying to pick up Big Rock Candy Mountain again. Also took the bridge off the teakettle and the 5th string broke when I tried to tune it. Shouldn't have put that used string on it, I guess. Gotta get a new one today.

  • Yep, need to break a few stings now and then. Good fer ya..

  • i just got a banjo and am trying to teach my self. any tips or hints? what songs should i start off with?

  • You trying to play clawhammer or Scruggs Style? I think about the easiest song to start with is Ol' Joe Clark. There's plenty of tableture online, and lots of ways to vary the song, so it stays interesting.. I've got a great old book at home that I really like, but I'm writing this from away. When I get home I'll try to remember to send you the name of it. If I forget, remind me..

  • Good stuff,I wish I was there listening in person, bet it sounds good.

  • Thanks..
