Wow. Even though her musical focus may have changed since I saw her on tour for Short Sharp Shocked so many years ago, Shel can still rock a song. While I've never been a follower of any faith, the joy and energy that bursts from good gospel music is something to be treasured for its own sake. Arguing over faith isn't going to solve anything. Adaptation means, through science, we have to figure out how to cure the cold. That's why life is only plant and animal, everything else not living, you can't categorize. Everything living needs food and water.

Wow. Even though her musical focus may have changed since I saw her on tour for Short Sharp Shocked so many years ago, Shel can still rock a song. While I've never been a follower of any faith, the joy and energy that bursts from good gospel music is something to be treasured for its own sake. Arguing over faith isn't going to solve anything. People choose different paths through life. That's part of what makes the world so interesting, and in some cases, so musical.

It isn't God I have a problem with, it's most of the people I've encountered in my life that claim to speak for him, without a clue as what his thoughts and intentions really are. God is, by His very nature, unknowable and unfathomable. It seems the height of human conceit to say "I know God's plan for life, the universe, and everthing." How in the world can you say the "more secular the world becomes the more messed up it becomes" when so many problems we are having in the world today, from Islamic Jihadists, lack of Gay Rights, women being forced to cover from head to toe and submit to men, trying to take away a womens right to choose, etc, COMES from Religious ideas? I love Michelle Shocked, but as a Secular person I was turned off by this video.
The USA's religious citizen's need to realize that there are many of us who don't play or believe in this religious game. We don't believe in god, your holy books, your dogma, your heaven, your hell..none of that. And we are totally happy being this way thank you very much, and don't need you trying to "save" us or teach us your way.
When the world becomes more Secular, then we will truly have Peace on Earth.

Religion is not God. Religion is a way in which people try to make themselfs right with God. God is the one who came from heaven through Jesus to us and died for our sins, and God made it right for us so we can live with God because of the forgiveness of sin. Jesus did it all for us. All we need to do is accept HIM into our hearts. That what this song is about, praising the one who is really in my heart. Religion can't put God in your heart. You can say Yes to Jesus if you want Him in your heart

Then I must thank you from the bottom of my heart (because your are a Jew). The rejection of Jews' towards Jesus Christ is what made it possible for me to be grafted into the Vine. I am just a gentile, not 1st chosen like yourself, but I came to know Jehovah throught Jesus. The G-D of all creation, Yahweh, The I AM. I went from being a gentile dog, to knowing who the one true G-D is, worshiping Him in spirit and in truth. No longer a stranger in His presents.

JC met none of the criteria for the Messiah. The Messiah isn't supposed to be God. The Tanakh states clearly that ALL the world shall recognize Messiah with NO DOUBT when he comes, and not for the second time. You are misled.

I am not a Biblical scholar . You are right. Messiah is not GOD. The term Messiah is a job title, a description of the person, not a name or specific being, but is it not GOD who makes the choice on how He wants to bring salvation to us all - Jew & Greek? Read this: Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
