This statement is supposed to be encouragement: DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO WORSHIP GOD. In my church outbursts of cries are very much discouraged. Remember that the church does NOT JUDGE YOU!!! NOBODY HAS ANY AUTHORITY TO JUDGE YOU ON HOW YOU SHOW YOUR WORSHIP EXCEPT GOD ALONE!!! If you feel th need to get up and dance before the Lord. DO IT. Nobody is fit to judge you except God and ONLY God.

They went from being a church where you could be, well, YOU, and express your praise as you wanted, be it dancing, singing, or kneeling... It didn't matter... to a church that was way too button-down and lacked vibrancy and enthusiasm, and you couldn't express yourself, not even with arms high.

I left real quickly when that happened... So sad... I have some awesome memories there...

Hillsong writes great music.

I just have concern for doctrinal beliefs of their church -- and the Assemblies of God in general.

I believe in eternal security and AOG churches do not. AOG teaches the prosperity doctrine, while I find no such doctrine in the Bible.

Still, I have more in common with other believers in Christ than I do with those who do not.

It shouldn't matter what's so different from our doctrine than yours. What matters is that we love Jesus and we'll be in heaven with all other Christians, no matter what kind of doctrine they have, as long as they're saved.

This is true, but doctrine is key AGAINST false teaching. It's one thing to believe as one, but it's another thing to believe because you've been told that life will be cookies and cream afterwards (prosperity doctrine) because Jesus says the exact opposite, in fact.

I agree that we need to recognize Christians have more in common than we have differences.

I am AoG, and while there are AoG churches that preach prosperity (that nothing bad should ever happen to a Christian), that is not official AoG doctrine.

We do believe that salvation, based on faith, can be lost; because faith can be lost. But security of the believer is never a feeble thing; because our confidence is in Christ, not in ourselves.

I appreciate your concern, and keep seeking the Truth.
