Der Langrisser (SNES), Langrisser 2 (Mega Drive), and the remake of the original langrisser for the PC Engine are all amazing games.

Langrisser 2 for the Mega Drive is the best though.

Hmm.. The Genesis version, or maybe it's 32x, seems alot better than SNES. The music and graphics are way better.

that's a rather bad demo, pointing out flaws of game play, since you're on the light path, you should aim for horse 1st w/ Elwin, DO NOT! use Rouga cause he ditches you unless you don't go light path. If you're going to cast offensive magic, its definitely better to cast it earlier. you should only atk with hero units if you know you wont lose lots of lifes.You could be stronger by now. i didn't notice till later but, he either used redo begging bonus glitch, or he used secret shot to get items.

are there secret levels for this? i couldnt find any, id like to know if there are, also if you have played Warsong for the genesis Jessica is Calais from Warsong, almost the same picture plus jessica is over 700 years old

There are like a 100 secrets in this game. The main one without over killing, would be the secret tiles, which if you don't want to spend lots of times looking for, just find it on gamefaqs.

Then the ones for overkill would be stage jump or the special shops.

he don't use scenario select like u. he like challenge and play using his brian and that's the most fun part of the game

Hahahaha! You need a brain to player Der Langrisser? This game is so easy that if I play FF7 after playing this for a while, I find that hard. Langrisser 2, on the other hand, is a beast of a game. This game is still so damn fun though.

@nextsvp when I beat the game I did use scenario select to access the other scenerios to see how they played and such the game was quite the beast back in the day. I will play it now just to relieve the moments of beating high level bosses with under levelled characters.

I agree. You should be better than a low-level Lord with Erwin once you get to S5. If you know how to munchkin character creation, you can get a Warlock with 31 - 21 base stats. You only start with 1 MP, making the spells useless, but what counts is that you will have the spells later in the game when you have enough MP to make use of them and that you have a very short level bar to get through in your initial class.

Actually the first official English translation of this game was on the Sega 16bit MegaDrive back in about 13 years ago. It then came out to PS1 as a combo of Langrisser 1&2.
