im going to buy either t2i or the t3i and Im leaning towards the t3i. I just watched a video on youtbe and its said the majic lantern works best on the t2i and is very limited on the t3i. I find this very disapointing. I am hoping is was an old video and advanments have been made on the ML. Could you please let me know if this is still true.?

@TheParodyPirate Install new firmware even if youre already on the new one. Then do a low level format again then follow instruction on installing ML.

@MediaUnlocked same happened to me today. I have the T2i/550d. Tried to install, & it gave me a black screen with the red LED light blinking. I've searched online, & turns out all I had to do was take out my battery.. and now, good as new :D

Can You please help Me!!! I downloaded the magic lantern for my canon t3i but I decided not to keep it anymore so I did what you told me and updated my firmware from the canon website and inserted the files to my SD card. Everything was going well and it was updating but a lot of a sudden my camera turned off and now it doesn't want to turn back on. I can still turn it on when the SD card is not inserted but when I place my SD card it just won't turn back on. Please Help!!!

@MediaUnlocked Do you know anywhere I can find a link to downgrade back to 1.0.1? Following the install instructions for ML, I installed firmware 1.0.2 and cannot get ML to work on my t3i. Canon only has a link for 1.0.2 and I can't find any mirror links. Ideas? Am I going to have to wait for the next ML version that works with 1.0.2?

Everyone who has been having problems with the screen turning black and the red led flashing, all you need to do is install the firmware 1.0.9 even if you already have it. it worked for me

@callmewaffle If you add more light you can shoot at a lower ISO with less noise. Since you are increasing the light and dropping the ISO you can make the final image appear the same level of darkness. Upgrading to a better camera with a full frame sensor will also get you better low-light performance (5D MkII).

I have a 64SDXC and i'm having all type of trouble running the ML firmware... I used my regular 16sd and install it and every works fine... but it only being 16gb doesn't give me enough space... i would like to setup my 64SDXC.. can some give me a step by step link.... i've tried macboot and everything but just not sure if i'm doing it right...

@MediaUnlocked According to the install.pdf that comes with the firmware (11.12.22 FW) you need to use a regular "SD" card for first time install... but once the firmware is installed you can setup the "SDXC" card using Macboot for mac and EOScard for win. But for some reason its not working for me and its probably because I have a "64gb" SDXC...maybe a lower GB would work, like a 32gb SDXC card... Buts thanks for replying and your help...

i have tried this on a canon 600d when i have it on live view with magic zoom ALW, MedX2, NW i get a small window top left it flickers alot then freezes my camera then i turn it off and on i get the red led light bottom right flashes off and on every 2 secs and camera dont come back on i have to take battery out for a few minutes then camera goes back on i have removed ML and had another go it done the same thing

ok i have gave this another go all working fine if i turn magic zoom off as soon as i turn that on and go to live view then press the trash logo to see ML menu again thats when it freezes then have to take battery out to get going again.

I just downloaded and played with ML on my Kingston class 4 16GB card, works like a charm, even in video. (16mb read/10mb write speed)

Only problem I had with ML was some screen flicker, and some heat.

Decided I shall probably not use ML, as the features are pretty overwhelming, and probably wont be used much.

if you're in doubt what a function does, just press disp and there is a lot of info about the funcions. You can also go to the last tab in the ML menu and check out all info, like short cut buttons etc. That feature means heaven to me!

Oct 17 build was an exe. file (one file only) I thought? but this one has many more files... I'm now confused... I'm strongly considering installing this but if its updating like every week like this it doesn't seem stable enough for me.

I managed to get CBR 1.4 on my SanDisk Extreme 30 Mbps. Would love to see with the bitrate pushed to its limit. I believe that only SanDisk Extreme III can handle this at 45 Mbps and no sound.

Thanks for the video. I think that both you and the other guy on Vimeo forgot to mention a very important point which is that you need to. E on the latest Canon firmware for this to work. Trust me I figured it out the hard way. The actual firmware required in on the ML webpage.
