In the original comics there is no spider girl. There is a completely seperate character named spider woman whose powers have no connection to spiderman's. In fact I believe she was invented first.
As for mary jane, well I haven't gotten that far yet but i'm very skeptical.

They could have done the same with May. The science of it is totally off. Getting radioactivity in your bloodstream doesn't make the powers genetic. Even if the "DNA transformed," (which WTF that's not even remotely accurate) they should have don better research.

What universe it takes place in depends on the character the comic book is being written about.
For example (if I'm not mistaken), Sensational Spider-Man is about Ben Reilly (Earth-616 universe), Amazing Spider-Man is about the regular Peter Parker (Earth-616 Universe).

@CyberBlz Most comic villains are men period. The ratio of men to women is probably about the same as in Spider-Man, and why should that change? Gender of the main character shouldn't have any relevance to how they decide what the gender of their enemies will be.
I read the some of the comics specifically this part was in it (more or less) Osborne long ago had stolen some spiderman DNA and a sample of the venom symbiote and fused them together then later on when May "Mayday" Parker (Spider-Girl) was born he got newer samples to work with and even stole the babe, because of the kidnapping and some ofther stuff that apparently happend he cloned the girl then infused her with his new symbiote DNA but not even Osborne knows for sure if which he infused.

@WaliceInThunderland Not fake or photoshopped. There really is a Spider-Girl series, and in it there really is a clone of Spider-Girl with symbiote powers. As far as I know, the clone stays good the whole time.

It would've been great if Mayday and Ben Reilly survived! The mainstream universe (the current universe, where she died after being born, thanks to the Green Goblin and Kaine's doing) is SO cruel to Spider-Man and Peter Parker... But we have to remember, he's an every-man, so he shares almost all of our problems, including losing loved ones and children.

@CyberBlz Most comic villains are men period. The ratio of men to women is probably about the same as in Spider-Man, and why should that change? Gender of the main character shouldn't have any relevance to how they decide what the gender of their enemies will be.

I read the some of the comics specifically this part was in it (more or less) Osborne long ago had stolen some spiderman DNA and a sample of the venom symbiote and fused them together then later on when May "Mayday" Parker (Spider-Girl) was born he got newer samples to work with and even stole the babe, because of the kidnapping and some ofther stuff that apparently happend he cloned the girl then infused her with his new symbiote DNA but not even Osborne knows for sure if which he infused.

@TheNinjacat10 um supergirl could crack a planet with one hand. She's not as strong as superman it's true, but i'm pretty sure that she's proportionately as strong. If she had the same muscle mass should would be as strong and she's one of the few characters that can hurt him(if she gets the drop on him or something).

Here we go again, another one of those true hero characters "stupid woman clone". Why do each cool character must have it's female version: Super-man and Super-girl; Bat-man and Bat-girl; Wolverine and X-23; Hulk and She-hulk etc. Why can't they create something knew instead of making stupid copies with tits. This is sick if you ask me. Thank God Iron-man and turtles remain without the sex change, but I wonder for how long?

I am all for it. The Spidergirl legacy is sweet and I am glad she went with her Dad's costume instead of the gay spiderwoman one from the old days. I have always felt a chick looks better in such a costume than a dude. I hope that Marvel runs with the idea. I would buy them!
