Just because she says that it should be illegal does not mean that anyone caught having an abortion would receive a jail term. It means that abortion clinics would be illegal and anyone performing an abortion would face a jail term. Abortion is illegal in Ireland (certain circumstances allow it, for example: If the mothers life is in danger from the birth) and we have never thrown anyone in jail. Abortion is too free and easy in the US with the result that it is abused!

Now don't get me wrong, I don't believe we should criminalize women for having an abortion. Doing so would lead to more inhumanity, worse crimes than an abortion. But we should make it clear, what constitutes a fetus and a baby..When is it not OK to have an abortion.
I personally don't have much respect for women that choose abortion, after they choose to open their legs, but that's just my personal opinion. And you know what they say about opinions, they're like assholes.

One more thing. You could argue that she's not correct that no pro-lifers want to criminalize abortion. The are plenty such people. So, she may be wrong on that point. But her being wrong on that point would not at all make her position inconsistent. It is still perfectly consistent to want something to be illegal but not criminal.
She may be wrong for other reasons, but she is not wrong on the grounds of consistency. She may be wrong but her position on what the law should be is not confused.

(2 of 2) you would know this too. In Canada, many pot activists argue that pot should be decriminalized. That would make it illegal, but not criminal. This is what the woman in the video wants: abortion to be illegal but not criminal. Illegal but no jail time.
You can criticize the idea of making abortion illegal but not criminal, but not on the ground of it being inconsistent. Any lawyer with half a brain could tell you that this woman's position is not confused but is perfectly consistent.

This woman thinks that abortion should be illegal but not criminal. That makes perfect sense. Not everything that is illegal is legally classified as a crime. Littering may be illegal, but it is not a crime in most countries. The same goes for speeding 10 km/h above the speed limit. You may get a fine for these activities but they are not criminal activities.

I argued that, since the terms “illegal” and “criminal” do not refer to the same thing, it is perfectly coherent to say that an action should be illegal but not criminal. You can find it on Amazon. I think that they're in the 9th edition.
It was a big help to me and my peers in our first year of law school.
Black's Law Dictionary provides the following definition for a term that gives me an example of a class of illegal activities that are also not criminal.

Read it very carefully. Civil infractions are illegal activities (i.e. activities that are prohibited by law) but are not crimes. They give the example of traffic violations. I gave that very example in my post to "queerveganliberal".

@juliewashere88 The punishment for such offences is typically a fine.Yes, I know, some traffic violations can be criminal violations, but those would not be infractions (given that the definition of infraction precludes the criminal element). Thus, traffic violations can be crime and can also be mere infractions. In the section case, i.e. as in cases in which traffic violations are infractions, they are not criminal. The woman in this video seems to want the same thing for abortion.
