  • I must have watched this 100 times by now and it never gets old. That guitar work is phenomenal...Hats off to the greatest band there ever was, or will ever be...

  • This shit today can't even compare, this is rock n roll at it's best!

  • wooooohhh, skip to 0.00....i wanna see allen do that slide again

  • THE GREATEST BAND EVER!

  • LS is IN YOUR FACE!!!!!!

  • Workin' for MCA should be mandatory listening for anyone offered recording deals. So many don't have a clue.....

That said, much appreciate these; they were unbelievable in concert and this may let our kids (and grandkids now ;>) understand. Combined w/the other great FL bands (Outlaws, Molly Hatchett, etc.) and folks like CDB and the Allmans, it was proof that the disco movement wasn't the only activity in the 70's. :D

  • was in 11th grade at this time. Seen Skynard a dozen times or more. THe were great. seen them with the outlaws. Great southern rock and roll. Havent listened to the new LS once since RVZ died in planecrash.

  • this is what they open with in west palm beach fl last night was in third row!! GOD got me in ! for !BILLY POWEL 's! REST IN PEACe !PEACE~march june 20th central-park new york 10 to 12 noon

  • I was there.........never will forget how many people said they blew the Rollin Stones off the stage that day! Long live Skynard!

  • damn i wish i lived back then... i hate that i didnt..

  • their keyboard player is fuckin great

so is the rest of them

  • Thanks for the memories.

  • My first concert but in 97' still had Rossington,Powell, and Wilkenson back then and maybe Artimus Powell but I was so fucked up in Charollet N.C. that night I was only 17 but had a hell of a time.

  • yea steve was a hot add to the band

  • Ed King kills on an '61 stratocaster...Man ,whatta band..I got chills from watchig this one

  • Ed King does kill on Strat. But if you think this is Ed on strat in this video, you are mistaken. This is Steve Gaines. He was incredible

  • Yes,I was wrong..Thanks for that info..

  • this is fantastic. the editing sucks though. god forbid they actually focus on the person playing guitar solo. we might learn something! oh no!

  • I was lucky enough to see them 2 weeks before the plane crash...RIP

  • WOW yup just WOW

  • The debate is over. This their greatest concert. Ever.

  • @MrArchieBunker I was there - it was brilliant and I remember it like yesterday.

  • They didn't all die! GOD! And u call urselves Skynyrd fans! In fact the band still DOES live on! Ronnie VanZants bro does lead vocals. Man i hate posers! DO UR HOMEWORK!

  • Posers ? The band touring under the name Lynyrd Skynyrd today have absolutely nothing in common with the band in this video, any comparisons are completely reaching ,for all intensive purposes Skynyrd DIED with that plane crash. Huckeby had "Skynyrd" on his show last week end, they sounded good... but so do plenty of cover bands. No Bonham no Zeppelin no Moon no Who no Bon Scott no....

  • Give it a rest, line-ups change. Skynyrd's changed often even before the crash. I prefer Ronnie (most people do) but Gary Rossington and Billy Powell (who recently died) remained a part of the band. Ricky Medlocke had his moments with the band prior to the crash. Johnny is Ronnie's his little brother and does a good job on the old songs.

  • lineups don't change completely,I'm familiar with Skynyrd, name dropping means nothing,I can read too,

Lynyrd Skynyrd is long gone, reminds me of the latest Chevy Malibu...old name that was once on an exciting product .... now on a new bland product .

  • @tjfreak so fucking true...wish it wasn't but it is.

  • foda!

  • God I miss all of them. Music lives ON!

  • rip bp

  • i really appreciate Lynard, it was a huge loss to music when these men died, they gave america the sound of freedom

they are americas music, long live their music,

  • I wasn't there. Before my time. But, I wish I had been. This was Fuckin' Rock and Roll before MTV dstroyed it.

  • hi i was there tell me all you remember about it if you have time lol XX

  • Best band of the day by far - I was 20 and having the time of my life - thanks for the memories! I still remember how hot, tired, filthy, drunk and happy we were by the end of it! Hi to everyone who was there X

  • YES! Im afraid i wasnt there but youve hit the nail on the head! That is rock n roll baby, "hot, tired, filthy, drunk n happy!" i think u may have been a little stoned too? lol I wouldnt blame ya if u did! Peace x

  • All I've ever needed to get stoned is the music! I feel very lucky to've been young in the 70s - we had all the best music, not just Skynyrd but Zeppelin, Alice, Purple, Lizzy, SAHB, Robin Trower, Free ...and they're all on Y.Tube making me young again!

  • that is the best drum roll ever i can watch it over and over for days

  • oh yeah
