It's hard to believe that this was one of the early MTV videos! Nothing cheesy looking about this. Way ahead of it's time, and has always been one of my favorite videos. Back then this album (yes kids,album) shared space in my record collection with disparate groups such as; Misfits, Chet Baker, JoyDivision, Bowie, Handel, Clash, Miles Davis, Stranglers, King Tubby, Black Flag, Frank Zappa, Roxy Music, Wagner, The Damned..etc. All quality. The artists really reached in trying to be creative and to have meaning in their music, sometimes they reached so far that nobody could get what the hell they were talking about and this is a good example, and really that's what are is, isn't it? open to interpretation. Today's music is not artistic in this sense at all. Hip-hop for instance, which has become the most popular genre is completely unambiguos. Great for a good time and dancing, but is it art?
