this new AVP game is small compaired to AVP2, in AVP2 all character's had 11-12 levels, in this new AVP game all character's had 5-6 level's. i loved everything else about this new AVP but they were still some what lazy with it.
but i hope they make the sequel to this game, and hopfuly it will be longer.

@MrLeft4doom The reason nobody liked it is because they killed the validity of both series, mainly the Alien series. It just dousnt match up with the storyline of either series. Plus it was done without permission or the help of any of the original creators of either series. Also, AvP Requim was just plain horrible. It was supposed to be about the Xenos and Preds, not about some nerdy teenager and his love life, and you never got a clear view of a Xeno in the entire movie.
Aliens have fuck all advantage in multiplayer, only the dark? pfff that's weak, why don't they have vents to travel about in and sneaky holes to hide in? A predator or a marine hits us we fall to the ground giving them plenty of time to finish us off. Marines & Predators have long range weapons, why don't aliens have acid spit? it says in the manual that "O" or "B" doesn't do anything, WHY? And the maps are terrible, way to open (except for refinery, that is the best one for Aliens).
my experience with this game that i got today: coordinating attacks with random people which we used to absolutely decimate marines, a shitload of laughs with these guys, and just a really great time

The multiplayer is so fun and there are different modes like aliens vs humans, predators vs humans, or all species in one game.
Why does IGN claim that 7.0 is a 'good rating' then proclaim in the final verdict that "you won't be absolutely rolling the mud yelling for someone to kill you after playing this" that really implies more mediocre than good, don't you think?
i thought this game is awsome and it is! and ign gives it a 7! they should give it a 8. you should be a facehugger. and the predator should not be really overpowering the other species. i feel that i was the predator and the alien. i hope they make another AVP.
It would be cool if there was only one predator per round, and it randomly picks who gets to be it, or it picks the best person from the previous round. But, it never lets you be predator twice in a row. Also, make it by far the most powerful, forcing you to team up. You'd worry about aliens/humans, but you'd always be on the lookout for the predator. At least, one game mode like that would be cool, anyway...

i personally didnt find any complaints in myself about the melee tbh, the only complaint i have is how bloody long it takes to actually perform an execution, u gotta hold the button for like 3 seconds before anything happens, but i absolutely love everything else about this game, i personally think the graphics are damn good but its not graphics that make a game for me, its the gameplay, which was really good in this game
TBH I thought the melee combat was great. And @theyellowjesters what do you mean by not liking the flshlight? Did you mean the infinite time on it or the poor light that it gives, because I think the latter is meant to be there.
Great game, but I think the Alien and Predator campaigns could have been much better, even if it meant they had to screw around with the canon. That's probably my only complaint about this game.

Fail on the review AVP2 came out two years after AVP1 back in 2001. After that their was it's badly buggy and cheap expansion Primal Hunt that came out in 2002. This is just the FPS AVP games there was also a RTS on AVP Extinction that sadly was Teen rated and only on Xbox1 and PS2.
I agree that the multiplayer is very unbalaced, but the predators don't always win. I can count countless times that my team "Aliens," beating the predators. The only species that has no chance on winning is the humans, which is why the host usually locks out predators during a human alien match.

Predator is not necessarily the OP character. I've played online, and I never use the predator. It just depends on which character you're good with. Master them and you're set (granted, you need to be able to use all 3, just in case). I beat a group of three marines camping together once, and nearly won a match of Species DM on my own team as alien. Marine is good too, you just have to watch your motion sensor, and be wary of Predator players. I've played online some, and I've been content.

Hmm... I really enjoyed the game. It wasn't deep or anything. Just enough to keep me entertained. I LOVED the marine campaign. Hearing the aliens in the distant and paying attention to the motion tracker added quite a bit suspense for my taste. I CAN'T wait for ALIENS: COLONIAL MARINES
i remember when i had this game and i found that the campaigns were pretty average(especially the alien one) but the multiplayer is very fun and addictive and so is the horde mode where u play as the marines tryin to kill aliens..the human is the best character to play as because you really feel like your in the game because its scary and the shooting and weapons are great..predator is also very cool to play as with all of his weaponry but gets a bit repetetive after a while nd aliens are boring
Bullshit. This game had extremely good graphics. It actually made you feel as if you played as one of the species and the gameplay was just intense. That crap about melee in 1st person was bullshit. Have you ever played Oblivion? The multiplayer was intense. On the downside though the campaign was too short and no one was playing on line. So the verdict according to me is at least 9.0
@Thedeadspace13 Dude the campaigns were short and the only thing fun was to play as the marine. The way you killed marines as predator/alien was just simply unenjoyable due to their chubby and clumsy "attacks". In the old games you could ram them down and split them into pieces in seconds, made you feel like a -real- monster.
@Festabenkaj I dont entirely agree with you. For me the funnest thing was to play as the predator. And look in the movies neither the pred or the alien ripped them to pieces in seconds. And the attacks weren't clumsy and chubby. Although sometimes the mouse spazes out. So yeah.

We both know that if you get hit by a wolverine like giant steel weapon, you won´t just be punshed backwards saying "ouch!" as if nothing happend, your entire arm (and head?) would be ripped off. That is that part that made it enjoyable in the earlier games, you felt like an unstoppeble hunter tearing the pathetic humans apart. In this game its just.. meh if you don´t use the "special attacks" then it is just clumsy combat and deaths
WTF IGN i love that game its very good in my book and learning curve is not hard you just need a hour or so per race to get the contals down. also do think the next one will be better. i give the game 8.5 over all.

I would have gottent his game, I enjoy watching the movies as when I see an alien scene where I look at the celing, and behind my shoulder with predators. But this game is dead and i hope a new one releases soon to show the glory of the franchise.
As A HUGE Alien and Predator fan i was quite satisfied with AVP. Sure the story wasn't all that well told and the gameplay here and there more or less lacked, but where the game did have it's strengths was in the authenticity. I liked how the xenomorphs looked and sounded as goes with the Predator, and enjoyed fighting off the alien creatures as a colonial marine.
Saying that I had my fun with AVP and ignored its faults so I really did not complain that much whatsoever about it.

How can a 2010 Game be inferior to the 10 year old Aliens Vs Predator 2 for PC? I bought this game for £5 and was looking to upgrade my PC- but from what I hear its better to cut my loses and run- given AVP3 by SEGA is shit.

Hmm... I really enjoyed the game. It wasn't deep or anything. Just enough to keep me entertained. I LOVED the marine campaign. Hearing the aliens in the distant and paying attention to the motion tracker added quite a bit suspense for my taste. I CAN'T wait for ALIENS: COLONIAL MARINES

i played predator campaign on hard mode, trust me it's more like running away from those aliens and let them fight with the marines.
on ther other hand the alien campaign is much more stealthy. it's like playing splinter cell for me :D

i remember when i had this game and i found that the campaigns were pretty average(especially the alien one) but the multiplayer is very fun and addictive and so is the horde mode where u play as the marines tryin to kill aliens..the human is the best character to play as because you really feel like your in the game because its scary and the shooting and weapons are great..predator is also very cool to play as with all of his weaponry but gets a bit repetetive after a while nd aliens are boring

Bullshit. This game had extremely good graphics. It actually made you feel as if you played as one of the species and the gameplay was just intense. That crap about melee in 1st person was bullshit. Have you ever played Oblivion? The multiplayer was intense. On the downside though the campaign was too short and no one was playing on line. So the verdict according to me is at least 9.0

@Thedeadspace13 Dude the campaigns were short and the only thing fun was to play as the marine. The way you killed marines as predator/alien was just simply unenjoyable due to their chubby and clumsy "attacks". In the old games you could ram them down and split them into pieces in seconds, made you feel like a -real- monster.

@Festabenkaj I dont entirely agree with you. For me the funnest thing was to play as the predator. And look in the movies neither the pred or the alien ripped them to pieces in seconds. And the attacks weren't clumsy and chubby. Although sometimes the mouse spazes out. So yeah.

We both know that if you get hit by a wolverine like giant steel weapon, you won´t just be punshed backwards saying "ouch!" as if nothing happend, your entire arm (and head?) would be ripped off. That is that part that made it enjoyable in the earlier games, you felt like an unstoppeble hunter tearing the pathetic humans apart. In this game its just.. meh if you don´t use the "special attacks" then it is just clumsy combat and deaths

WTF IGN i love that game its very good in my book and learning curve is not hard you just need a hour or so per race to get the contals down. also do think the next one will be better. i give the game 8.5 over all.

Theirs a new Aliens game coming out soon but its only about the aliens and the marines no preds so i just hope that they do better than this dont get get me wrong i thought it was a funnn game i would have thought it was an outstanding game if they would have made the campaigns longer and it didnt take like ten minutes to find a match on multiplayer

I would have gottent his game, I enjoy watching the movies as when I see an alien scene where I look at the celing, and behind my shoulder with predators. But this game is dead and i hope a new one releases soon to show the glory of the franchise.

As A HUGE Alien and Predator fan i was quite satisfied with AVP. Sure the story wasn't all that well told and the gameplay here and there more or less lacked, but where the game did have it's strengths was in the authenticity. I liked how the xenomorphs looked and sounded as goes with the Predator, and enjoyed fighting off the alien creatures as a colonial marine.
Saying that I had my fun with AVP and ignored its faults so I really did not complain that much whatsoever about it.
