sure there are, and this is a common question that comes up. Unless one is racist, I don't know why someone would ask it. Children are children, and we're all human. The mortality rate for a female infant in a Chinese orphange is 40%. If you're not racist and you love children then why be pigeon holed to your own country and in the process take a child out of a less than desirable situation?

So for argument's sake we'll lower that by 10%...... for a mortality rate of 30%. doesn't make me feel any better. China isn't undeveloped, either. This death rate is due to underfunding for an issue to which the government has become desensitized. While it has gotten better, if you can find sources that negates the stats, please feel free to post.
The infant mortality means the number of deaths of infants under one year old in a given year per 1,000 live births, so it is usually presented in the way of "xx deaths/1,000 live births ". Maybe another system uses percentage to present the rate.I am not sure. I just post the information i get
China--- 17.27 deaths/1,000 live births (2010 est.)
India---50.73 deaths/1,000 live births (2010 est.)

Your adaption is really worth being respected.
However I doubt your so call 40% mortality rate.
Even in those extreme undeveloped countries, this rate is still unbelievable.
