I saw those lights above my house in saltcoats. They could have been almost anything. Or they could have been flying saucers just posing for your camcorder.

They were large, distant objects, not close up small ones.They were spotted all over the town, and on the basis of that, it was most certainly Unidentified! Doesn't mean there are little green men flying them, but as of this moment, no one knows, not even eye witnesses so I think you are wrong on this occasion to say you "definitely dont think its a UFO"

Definitely not birds. I have seen birds at night and this it not it. Not Chinese Lanterns either. These lights were flashing. Not swamp gas. No swamps in Scotland. Prestwick airport is very close to Ayrshire and that is a base for USA air force. Go to googlemaps and zoom into the airport in Prestwick UK. You can see the USAF planes parked on the runways. Ayrshire to Prestwick is about 10 miles.

Swans, geese, ducks and other water birds most certainly do reflect light. Intensity of the reflection will vary, but an oil in the feathers (which prevents them from getting water-logged when they float) will create a sheen of sorts and can create a reflection. In this case the brightness of the object is more due to their color, white! Any white surface catching the sun will be seen for miles. Plus you can watch the consistent flicker of the objects. Wings flapping people! Birds.
It was short as my wife was using her mobile to video it. During the filming, a few kids and neighbours were out talking, and a car stopped too, so we were more concerned with watching it real time rather than through a video screen. That was as close as we could get anyway.
your video will be a huge contribution to ufo research , you may not as yet have any idea how important it is as your video shows the ufos working on their alignment program as they travel in formation. this prevents collisions,usually it is the triangular separation often seen and is seen as they make that adjustment at end of your film. very timely recording. you can see my ufo research in youtube that is trying to warn people of the serious danger we face from massive arrivals of ufos/aliens

I wish I could believe those were UFO's but sadly those are really chinese lanturns sent up at a garden party.
