  • have you ever used vege-gel? I need to make a mousse cake and as I rather not use real gelatin I bought vege-gel, but I read someone review of vege-gel and is meant to taste repulsive. Know anything about it?

  • if you dont have icing sugar can u use regular sugar instead

  • ben is so thin here

  • LMFAO! Whenever Ben said "masurate" (however you say it), the lads cracked up, tehe!

  • @sortedfood Is there something you could use for the fruit besides wine?

  • @MoonlightChrysanthem Hi! I'm not sorted, but I do know that you can use sugar, or juice to use. it's just to kinda get them syrupy and yummy. to enhance the fruit flavor. Happy cooking!

  • can we use gelatin crystals instead of the sheets?

  • @emergencyme1 yep you can, just follow the instructions on the back of the pack :-)

  • @emergencyme1 gelatin crystals = powdered gelatin?

  • What else can we use instead of gelatine please? I'm a vegetarian.

  • @LameLikeEric I think there's vegetarian gelatine?

  • @LameLikeEric you can use agar agar, it's plant based instead of animal based. perfect for vegetarians. It does react differently to certain things. and it usually comes in a powdered form, so always whisk it in with the sugar when using it so it doesnt clump up in your dessert

  • I've been looking for a panacotta recipe! When I went to Greece, at the end of a meal, often restaurants would give you their version of panacotta on the house.

  • Lol, master- what?? Haha...

  • Dirty joke 0:58! Don't worry Barry I thought I heard what you heard the first time too! Lol.

  • Can I use some other form of starch instead of gelatin?

  • I have been leaning on my left elbow for so long watching sorted videos that my hand has literally gone numb.

  • @jessigirl102 they're so mesmerizing! i don't even bake/cook, but i love watching it :D

  • @jessigirl102 ditto lmao

  • barry and jon seemed to be impressed with themselves for far too long about that joke!

  • Gay threesome after cooking? I think so.

  • the guy in the blue and white striped shirt is adorable XDD so confused :P

  • if we use vanilla essence how much do we put in?

  • How come almost all the gluten free sweet recipes have alcohol in them?? Just a thought.. (:

  • For anyone wanting a vegetarian alternative to gelatin, there are several substitutes, but one that I'd recommend is agar agar. In most cases, I've found that a one-one ratio of agar powder in place of gelatin works just fine :) It's also unflavoured, so no need to worry about gross aftertastes!

  • Yummy but I didn't want to know what gelatin is made from ew

  • What happened to your finger in this video?

  • Yeah, gelatin is not vegetarian.

  • @shiZGFX but you can get vegetarian gelatin

  • How much agar agar should I use, if I were to use it as a substitute for gelatine?

  • Yummy!!

  • how much vanilla essence should be used to substitute the vanilla pods? o.o

    aww it stinks!!!

    *smells it again*

  • that beginning high five was legendary

  • @sortedfood how much icing sugar with the cream ??

  • Brb, gotta macerate some berries...

  • @sortedfood what substitute can i use for the alcohol

  • @fasulia67 a diluted elderflower cordial works really well with the berries... try that.

  • @sortedfood thanx ill try it

  • @sortedfood And can you put chocolate into the pot as well? if yes, powder or melted chocolate?

  • the plaster started a solo career after his time on sorted

  • "master..what?"

    "macerate" LOL

  • i thought you weren't supposed to put really hot stuff in the fridge...

  • Comment removed

  • you seemed to have cut your index finger sometime in the summer of 2010

  • @TheSleepingangel56 oh dear! Something tells me you need to be doing the cooking not him! :D

  • why is there a blue plaster on your index finger for like almost all the videos? :P

  • @muaxmuaxmuax A nasty accident with a knife last year that took a few months to heal. So appears in quite a few videos! LOL. It's all grown back now though so no need for plaster anymore! :D

  • @sortedfood And here I was thinking the plaster was like a decoration or something. Lol Im kidding.

  • You really should stop masterating unless you want hairy palms xD

  • MASTURBATE berries!!! haha@-)

  • i heard masturbating berries! i love your videos where do i make a request? kisses and hugs from italy!

  • @Meridanae haha! Make a request anywhere... we read all the comments! Although would be awesome if you are able to make a video response to our 'New Kitchen' update from a few weeks back. That way we can include your video within ours when we get you SORTED! :D

  • @sortedfood oh, thank you :)

  • I can't have wine. Alternatives?

  • @alexis474542 A great alternative is using an elderflower cordial, diluted with water to a drinking consistency.

  • Aw that stinks! lol

  • ooo, Chef jacket unbuttoned....

    saucy

  • Is there any gelatin alternatives?

cos i've heard there's vegetarian jelly so i was just wandering =D

  • @Jorna321 There is indeed... think it's called veggie gel. Does exactly the same job... simply follow the instructions of the back of the packet

  • @sortedfood oh ok then, thankyou XD

  • =0 im openin a restaraunt when i grow up

im makin some of this stuff lol

  • is there any vegeterian geliton or any alternative

  • Haha, Barry. :) master-what??

  • hey guys ,, can't use wine in my food ,, any idea to replaces it ? :S

  • hey guys ,, can't use wine in my food ,, any idea to replaces it ? :S

  • @TheSleepingangel56 ahhh... mine wasn't as fancy as lobster... I was cutting a leek a little too quickly! :S

  • Wow, some of the comments on this video...well, despite them, you guys are awesome.

  • that's not jelly! xD sew cayute! x3

:OOOO don't put anything hot into ur fridge! :O

  • Watching Sorted just makes me want to spend my life cooking with friends, and also to be friends with everyone in the Sorted crew. You guys are fantastic, and your meals look delicious. :D

  • @nathpollen :D

  • ur gonna what the berries?

  • luv it

yum yum but we dont have mine in our country any thing elas ?

  • @nannALHAJRI an apple juice or elderflower cordial is nice too!

  • @sortedfood thnx :) <<333

  • What happened to your finger? :(

  • @ilikeitspicy22 bad accident last year - took months to grow back! :S hence why there's a plaster in so many of the old videos.

  • YUM!!

  • Hi! could it still work with a non-alcoholic substitute to the wine? any suggestions? thanks! it looks lovely..

  • @mslynx810 Yep... it just needs a liquid to marinate in that has a great fresh flavour. An elderflower cordial diluted to a drinkable level is amazing for fresh berries :D

  • Can you use powered gelatine?

  • Can you use vanilla essence as well? (cheaper)

    If yes how much?

  • @abiii321 yep... absolutely! About half a teaspoon should do it. But taste the cream mix to test it before leaving to set.

  • You guys are like kids watching their daddy make dessert

  • lol i like how barry says it stinks.. and then goes and smells it again.

  • those guys are cute and charming

  • ahaha im not sure but i think the guy in the hollister polo was thinking the main chef said masturbate at 0:57 :D

  • My goodness Ben, you must get all the ladies.

  • what kind of rose' wine?

  • I'm trying this for a dinner tomorrow!

    Very excited!

    It looks lovely.

  • Berry wears a lot of Hollister clothes

  • Love this recipe. I'm definitely going to try this out :)

  • what's "icey sugar" is it powered sugar?

  • @allison10sunny icing sugar... yep a very fine powdered white sugar. Not sure what you guys call it?!?

  • @sortedfood confectioner's sugar?

  • @sortedfood In the US, Icing sugar is also known as confectioners sugar, powdered sugar or 10x sugar. 10x sugar because the sugar is so fine that it's 10 times smaller than regular white sugar.

  • @FeitoVlogs That's cleared that one up... really helpful... thanks! :D

  • @allison10sunny yes powered sugar

  • I really wanna try making this. Just gotta get a few of the ingredients from the store.

I also wanna try your jambalaya when I can.

  • "we're gonna macerate some berries"

    "sorry what?!" LOL

  • @xEchoelle "we're gonna master-what?"

  • @xEchoelle Masurate.

  • Instead of the berries, I'd strongly suggest making a coarse berry-sauce out of 2 random berry sorts plus some strawberries, lemon juice, tropical fruit (passionfruit, pineapple, papaya, you name it) and some sugar and water. It is absolutely godly!

  • @eliten0Ob certainly sounds it! Anything that is naturally sweet but a little sharp as well to counterbalance the rich creamy panacotta! Yum, yum!

  • @eliten0Ob Make it to your taste, then!

  • Lol, first time i saw that poster, " Feed me NOW!!" :D

  • hey!, I was just wondering what you could use as a substitute for that gelatin sheet because I'm vegetarian. xoxoxox

  • @JwenJwen It's a great dessert and not to be missed out on, vegetarian or not! Using agar agar works instead of gelatine (it's made from seaweed) or even easier still, get yourself some 'Vege-gel'. Should be able to get it from most supermarkets, made by supercook I believe. That'll do the job! :D

  • Absolutly brilliant mate.

  • loving ur videos, love he setting, cooking with ur friends n the food is great too

  • @eggnogs thanks - we're pretty sure that's what food should all be about! Cooking with your mates! :D

  • Dude, why is it in all your vids you have that plaster? Unlucky with the knife a few times? Lol

  • @babybubbly not unlucky a few times... just very unlucky once! Took the end of my finger off, is healing well but doesn't look so good. But hey, occupational hazard!!! Just remember, safety first ;)

  • nice one

  • awesome

  • Smashing! This could be something for when my parents come round for dinner! Cheers a million! :-)
