  • I am so happy not to have facebook. it is a place for narcissistic bottom feeders of this world who need to fabricate their lives to feel good about themselves. who needs it when we have plenty of other communication methods available to us, which are far more private and personal. it is attention whoring at its best, infantile behaviour that carries into adulthood - you are no better than junkies.

  • I'm so proud i'm not anyone of these. I go to facebook once or twice weekly. I'M SO PROUD OF ME,

    BTW Great video.

  • yo creo que esto está disenado por la gente de "arriba" para generar en la gente la idea de que despues de todo Facebook no es tan importante, y como consecuencia logica disminuir la percepcion en la gente de que algo hay atras de Facebook, algo que tiene que ver con control...

  • only cause noone can delete his acc on facebook^^

  • @Dynamexxl You can... just it takes about 2 weeks and getting to the bloody form you have to fill out to delete the account his hard.

  • The world is obsessed with YouTube: In one second... 60 hours of video is uploaded people watch 130,000 hours of video 280,000 comments are made 700 accounts are created 20,000 videos are liked 1,500 videos are favorited 90% of the world has seen a YouTube video 72% of the world is active on YouTube (these numbers would be larger, if it wasn't for China) People on average have watched 37.7 hours of video on YouTube And if you believe that, I have a bridge to sell you. Trololol
  • fuck facebook

  • this video it's depresing, go get a life ,a real life !

  • Dang that reminds me I need to go on facebook

  • mark you rich bastard

  • I think all social nets are moving towards becoming best humor destination in the world. I have seen a new kind of evolution in social nets at "PosterPie" site. Just Google "Evolution of Humor Destination PosterPie" and tell what do you think....

  • Sir, this is the most well made video I have seen on YouTube. (Trust me, if my grammar is correct, then I'm honest :P)

  • i love typography :)

  • 72% of the US is on facebook. I wonder what that means to the CIA.

  • @DejectedDonkey facebook is sponsored by CIA. It is the best and "LEGAL" way for them to spy out EVERYONE, for free! Imagine how hard it would be for CIA to get your personal datas, and how easy it is, if they tell you: "Here you can find friends if you share most of your informations"...

  • the most addictive online tool ever made.

  • World isn't obsessed with facebook, world is obsessed with their own complexes.

  • Such a massive site and yet I am interested to know how many people use Facebook for a better purpose then uploading pictures of their cats? So much potential and yet so much seems to be wasted.

  • @MrConnman18 Then do something about it!

  • Jack.OP38 LIKES THIS

  • what bothers me is people who use facebook instead of msn so now I have to use facebook too...

  • I'm gonna share this... on facebook!!! :D

  • I hate facebook

  • Facebook is a danger to humanity. It is a network unto itself, much as AOL used to be when they distributed copies of their program to millions of people. Facebook is essentially the same, with one terrible difference - Facebook offers far fewer activities, all of which are tightly controlled and monitored and worst of all, Facebook maintains unhealthy relationships with government authorities who use it as a collection and processing resource.

  • @libertechnet so based on this u probably think the patriot act is unconstitutional????

  • haha poor fuckers!!! good thing i do not use facebook!

  • and I thought the world was obsessed with Skyrim

  • Those "20 minutes on facebook" stats were totally bogus, just compared to each other.

  • You know what else the world is obsessed with...Youtube!

  • @mdoerkse Youtube isn't dangerous tho! Righytjxfngn............

  • @mdoerkse or... the comment question of the day

  • @mdoerkse Yeah but in youtube you still have a voice.

  • how come the exact same amount of photos uploaded is equal to the anount of messages sent?

    1:15

  • @mackexr lol coincidence? Or false stastistics?

  • Deactivating my Facebook account was one of the best moves I have made online. The world is so much more positive without it, not having to see all those things people are doing at all times.

I've been Facebook-free for over half a year, and let's just say this is one good feeling

  • 00:03-fuck,is that illuminati symbol or am i wrong :P

  • @andione1000 The triangle?

  • @OhDere its kinda of a piramyd actually

  • @andione1000 Nope not relay the round shape that represents the all seeing eye has to be on top to symbolise the illuminati " the enlightened"

  • @andione1000 no.

  • @iFilmmak3r ok

  • @andione1000 No.

Apparently the Internet is obsessed with the complete delusion, the utter fiction, that is the Illuminati conspiracy theory, as well.

  • @hotelmario510 Illuminati is not a theory, the bavarian illuminati were created by the Rothschild family. The most wealthy people in the world, till this day, they still are and still own your ass like what they've always done. This conspiracy is no longer a theory, but a well documented fact. It's 2012, now. No more denial.

  • @Ruttie2 The Bavarian Illuminati existed hundreds of years ago. Not any more. The Illuminati theory as we know it today was conjured up in a series of satirical novels by Robert Anton Wilson and Robert Shea.

I agree that corporations and the rich do have far too much power (especially Rupert Murdoch), but to me, the Illuminati theory is the fever dream of a paranoid. Sorry, you are NOT going to force me to believe that bullshit, no matter how much you try, so please, don't proselytise me.

  • @hotelmario510 Like the wife of Mayer Amscher Rothschild once said: ''Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not after you.'' And again, it's a simple fact that this conspiracy exists. You can deny it, but then i'm afraid you're an accessory to them. Which i highly disrespect you for. I'm not forcing anyone, but they are forcing you. Remember, just trying to help you, nothing more. Refuse it? Fine, your free will.

  • what song is this?

  • Government spy site? Really?!? Mark Z. might just disagree with you about that.

  • Wooow :O

I have facebook and I love it!!

it's real, everyone's obssessed with Facebook!

  • how did u find out this stuff??

  • @CABx3 same here :D

  • Fakebook sucks, I deleted my account and it is still available with all the info and friends, it is pure spyware and fake people who do not want to communicate in the real world, but just cyber bullshit. defo, its a government site to spy on people and remove the privacy barriers.

  • Facebook is annoying, almost every advert on tv, or the internet, has facebook on it. Ridiculous how much free advertising they get. I remember the days when spending your life on a computer was considered sad, but nowadays it seems the opposite.

  • SOCIALGO

  • I used to have facebook, but it's just annoying.

  • Awesome info graphics... We here at Higher Ground Creative approve! Great work.

  • @highergroundcreative Yep ! Really good presentation.

  • The World Is Obsessed With Facebook.... before!

Go to Facebook now, you'll see a lot of porn images. Soooo annoying..

  • can i embed this on my website please?

  • 32 people dont have facebook

    and nor do i

  • I love how the end has a "Share this on Facebook" button. Way not to promote Facebook. ;P

  • Adicted from FB or Youtube?? What is the diference?

  • WOW!

  • fuck facebook

  • RJD2 - Ghostwriter

  • wich program do you use? to produce this excellent infografia. thanks for the answer, regards from Colombia

  • I don't conform ;)

  • Facebook is for people, who thinks, that everyone actually wants them to share their shit with the world, which is, obviously, false. I used to have it, until I thought about it, and realised, that it had no positives. I can stay on touch via cell phone after all, no need to be an attention-whore updating your status 20 times a day, thinking, that someone cares about it.

  • @InsomniaGuitar What about actually "putting itelligent stuff, like quotes, into your status", keeping in touch with your friends since people are online half of the day and seeing what other people you care for do...? Also you can't get in touch with all the people you need via cellphone/skype/something else, thus facebook is a lot easier sometimes. Also with unlimited internet...

(not trying to troll or start flame war. just saying what I normally do)

  • @pokestep Im bad at english, so I really hope, that "putting intelligent stuff into yo status" was irony. As for the other things - cell phone is much smaller and comfortable to take with you, so its anyway alot easier than wait for someone to get computer and go online. Ofcourse, you can go online via cellphone, but that won't disable its ability to receive calls, so facebook is not easier, than a cell phone. Also, friends, that spend half of the day online is not the best friends you can have.

  • @InsomniaGuitar No, putting intelligent things in status was meant for real (I oftenly put some nice/funny quotes). I also said "people are online at almost all the times", not my friends. So it's in general. Also living in another city... I think facebook is way easier.

  • @pokestep what is the point in putting some nice funny quotes into your status? regardless of what you can anwser, there are two real reasons - and both of the same ground. show off - either you try to look intelligent\with a good sense of humour, or you try to show, that you understood the intelligent quote and it fits you, which makes you look as though its not the quote, but you are intelligent\joke, and laughed hard at it. what's the point in this cheap showoffs?

  • @pokestep also, what is the point of keeping in touch with those living in another city? i mean, if you are so far away from each other, you have entirely nothing to talk about but

    y: hey, how r u doing?

    x: im fine, tnx, how r u?

    y: im great.

and that's it. in the better case you or ur friend can tell a story happened to him recently and you can share your opinions on this matter or laugh at it, but nothing new or interesting anyways. for this kind of talk phone is bttr, bcz u have to pay for it

  • @InsomniaGuitar I's dy you are an American by this. Cities don't necessarily have to be THAT far away from each other. I attend school in another city, capital city, which is around 30 km away from where I live...

  • @pokestep i'm not American, and what is "I's dy you"? also, this is pretty far away anyway, and you didn't reply to my post about quotes.

  • @InsomniaGuitar "I'd say".... anyway. 30 Km is not far away at all... It's only twice the length of our capital city.

And I didn't notice the thing about quotes... so... Well one is to make people know about something. My teacher posts every single day about what day is it, for example once it was a Day of fighting against McDonalds. Or so. The other are jokes, intelligent things, thoughts... And it's easier to find out stuff about school through FB messages (when you need 20 people at once)

  • @pokestep Im not American, but our cities is 200-500km far from each other. Also, what makes you think people don't or want to know about something? I mean, if I were ur friend in facebook, last thing I would care about, is that today is a Day of Fighting McDonalds. Its tasty, but I dont eat it, so I don't care Jokes\intelligent things\thoughts is nothing but a showoff anyway, as i written earlier. Also, youre attending to school everyday, why would you find out anything about it via facebook?

  • @InsomniaGuitar What if someone is not in school and you have to tell them about an exam coming? Ffff... And maybe people care for random stuff about days, because it may give them better mood or things. That's what we, complicated people, do, you know... laugh at completely simple things that we find interesting maybe. (not like we don't laugh at complicated things/things other people don't understand. Like Schrodinger's cat jokes.)

    weeheeheee~

  • @pokestep you can tell them about exam without facebook perfectly. also, random stuff wastes time and doesn't give you any good mood, at least not for long, that's why it is useless. unless you're simply collecting jokes to tell. also, this is invalid argument if you're trying to prove that facebook is useful. you can tell a joke in real life, and u can search jokes on the web, not facebook. also, am I reading you right - you think you're more complicated than me? then i have a bad news for you.

  • @pokestep also, you're trying to speak like if you only attend to facebook because you feel bad about somebody, who doesn't know, if there will be an exam next day\week\whatever. this is also very unlikely, because im more than sure, that you spend alot more, than it is needed to inform someone about whatever then need to be informed about. so, come up with something more convincing about facebook being necessary.

  • @InsomniaGuitar Why should I? I see my points and the reasons why I use it, and I am not convincing you to go and do so. I am just saying that it might be useful. And whatever I say you won't do it anyway, so why should I?

But contact with peopel in general is way easier. You can tell 4 people at once through facebook, like group messages, what you can't make on your phone, and not everyone has aforementioned skype. But you don't care, do you? You wouldrather send 30 messages on cellphone.

  • @pokestep no, I actually use skype. Also, UMAD? Skype has group conversations too, not to mention instant messengers. Im just saying that facebook gives you nothing for that they collect your personal information. Nothing not replaceable with other services, ofcourse.

  • @InsomniaGuitar Why should I be mad... there's nothing you can do to make me mad. Anyway, I know that Skype has group conversation, but out of 30 people in my grade, just... 10? maybe, have skype, while 28 of them have Facebook. It's a lot easier to communicate with them that way...

And yes you can replace it, but you can replace anything, can't you... ?

  • @pokestep its not easier, it is more popular to communicate via facebook, gotta feel the difference. also, you're speaking like if you communicating with ALL 28 PEOPLE EVERYDAY. I mean, not just communicate, but you NEED to communicate with everyone, that's why you prefer facebook. I mean, come on.

also, yeah, facebook provides nothing unique in communication, but the reason you and your friends are all there are the same - you think somebody cares about stuff you put on ur page, which is false.

  • @InsomniaGuitar Yes they care about what I put there, otherwise I wouldn't be getting 20 likes everydayly (on the intelligent quotes I put there, or personal achievements which are important to me).

I guess I know more about my friends through facebook than you through your cellphone.

Whatever. I don't really care for whatever you say. I don't really have to give you any reasons why it's better. But yeah communicating with people through FB is easier and cheaper.

I don't even have to reply...

  • @pokestep they care because they did one mouse click over like button? haha, tell me more. also, real friends doesn't need like button to express their feelings, and your "liked" things doesn't help your friends know more about you, but helps collecting information about you, and based on this, what would you buy. human is egoist, there is noone who truly would be glad about your personal achievements. also, skype is AS easy and AS cheap, fb is useless, ure there not bcoz its ezier but popular.

  • @InsomniaGuitar That doesn't even make sense. Facebook is popular, but I still have Skype. Because not all people I need have skype (like my class teacher. And tell me she is not important contact).

And I feel like you are forever alone lol. I spend most of my time with my friends and then we share thoughts on Fb/Skype.

  • @pokestep this makes sense because in case of 'int quotes' if somebody clicks 'like' button, they 'like' the thought, because they double it, and by clicking 'like' they are promoting their vision of the world, in other words, they are acting for themselves only. if it was ur personal achievement - nobody but you can feel the satisfaction after achieving it, therfore nobody can possibly care about it but you. also, it shouldnt bother you about how much alone am I, thought I am not.

  • @InsomniaGuitar That doesn't mean they can't like me achieving something. I guess you support your friends when they did something awesome and help them when they are sad? Yeah that's it. Peopl for example support me in me being our country championship runner-up, you know, they are quite glad I am so good in something, and for example I am so happy from my friend drawing so awesomely etc. Whatever, hm?

Also I don't use FB 'cuz it's popular, I had it before it was popular and mainstream.

  • @pokestep You know what, I was thinking I'd reply something proving my point again and this discussion could go on forever because it's not about the truth but about personal prefers (and therefore it's not clear why did you even start it :P ), but I decided I won't, because im feeling all positive now after cleaning up some mess. Have a good day :) And week. And year. And life. Yeah :P

  • @InsomniaGuitar Oh yes that's true. I actually wrote it two comments back :3 Anyway I was just giving good reasons why to use facebook, it's up to you if you will or will not use it. (for example, just yesterday I made a group conversation with 5 people, from who only 2 have skype, about our tomorrow school, because we are going to theatre :3 Facebook:skype:cellphone 1:0:0 :3)

    Have a nice day/wee/everything too :)

  • 500,000,000/7,000,000,000 = 1/14

  • Me and mu girlfriend cancelled our facebooks. Eventually people get the idea that its a waste of time. They really should drop that networking thing because its not a networking site, its a dating site that doesnt work that well....although i will be honest, i did meet my girlfriend of (of 3 years now) on myspace. I love my girl, but i am not proud of how we met.....

  • the world isn't obsessed with facebook, they just dunno what else to do on computers/at home.

  • @beasleyy4 A lot of people are obsessed though. When something happens, their first thought is "Omg gotta post this on Facebook!" They think everyone cares-_-

  • @beasleyy4

Wrong, I always run facebook in the background when I'm gaming...and I game alot.

  • @beasleyy4 Good thing when you are a programmer ^^ :D

  • the typeface is good enough but sentences- form made the information hard to understand.

  • I'm now a facebook user but I will soon quit it, I'm tired of people posting gay status , writing shit all day. I'm going out because I want to live in real world, not on FB. Too bad, my friends all live on FB, I miss them :((

  • these numbers aren't really the interesting ones. I mean, yeah, they are global numbers relevant for the platform as a whole. but it would be neat to know the in-depth statistics. Right now it's like counting all the trees in the world (rough analogy) - you're feeding me some useless numbers if you don't put it into context for a serious analysis.

  • the music was also very fitting,

    as was the type

  • your entire presentation was great, but what really stood out to me was your animation of the pie-chart around 00:30 in, it was very lively and original

  • thumbs up if face book is a tab right now haha

  • This was good but the word went really fast LOL

  • 0:40 - hold it right there. You mean 57% talks more online than in real life? How could one POSSIBLY test this on accuracy? Right after that; 0:50. This might be true, but for other reasons. As people obviously check their facebook more often than the news, people are bound to find out about news through facebook. I stopped watching here, these numbers all seem sketchy and I don't even use, nor care about facebook.

  • @aapinator

Of course 57% talk more online than irl. Didn't you check your facebook this morning?

    /sarcasm

  • nice presentation but ur an idiot

  • this is going on facebook lol

  • i don't even have a facebook account

  • Thumbs up if your on facebook....

  • I was really surprised that in a 20 minute period there are only 1.8 million status updates. With over 500 million users I would have expected the number of people updating in any 20 minute period to be at least 1% ... Goes to show, there might be 500,000 user accounts on facebook but not all of them are active.

  • ........totally

  • I don't even have a Facebook...

  • @CrazyLazySnazzyJazzy HO....LY....SHIT you must be an alien

  • @Lilcon1000 I must be.

  • Excellent design and great use of typography! Loved the blue, orange, white color scheme.

  • this is not inspiring. it is frightening...

  • Lovely music! Check our social media humor on my chanell, you'll enjoy it! =)

  • Fantastically done video! Despite the buzz created by Google+ on the last months I think Facebook is still the place to be when it comes to social networking. And I must say that the world is "still" obsessed with Facebook . By the way, do you like the recent changes on Facebook interface?

  • Comment removed

  • I fucking hate facebook.

  • I love your videos, and i was wondering if you would ever do a tutorial for a video like this? Could you? Would you? Will you?

  • i am ten and i have my own facebook that doesnt mean i use it that much

  • my mom would rather text ppl than talk on the phone, all these new things might be good for some, but it has made the world less family orientated, more robotic. When we go out to eat we see families the kids arent talking to the parents because the family is on their iphones texting or on facebook my mom checks her facebook every hour like wtf !! shes probably cheating on her spouse or just freakin pathetic!! sorry mom but its my opinion u need to get the hell off ur phone and have a life

  • What font did you use for this? I know FB is really skiddish about their "true" font.

  • @cliffwjenkins klavika

  • @alextrimpe brilliant! thanks.

  • @cliffwjenkins you're welcome :]

  • @alextrimpe Just a note that while klavika is the base, facebook make a few minor changes to the glyphs for it's logo, especially on the C and B.

  • Problem -- THIS, from about 0:35-0:37, is obviously wrong: "There are 206 million internet users in the US. That means 71% of the US web audience is on Facebook."

To clarify why, this is exactly the same as saying "all US internet users are on Facebook."

Not only an error, but a dumb one -- and renders suspect everything else in the video.

  • Google+ is the next BIG THING

  • the world is obsessed with facebook hey wait people where are you going google+ wait what is that? oh forget this fuck you facebook lol

  • Hi Alex . . thanks for sharing. THIS IS AMAZING . . GREAT WORK!

  • @urhed foot or toes you understood me :)

  • I love the song best!

  • For those who are interested about the psychological effects of Facebook, I find this video more descriptive than most on this site.

    /watch?v=rdZ4S0o6sPI&feature=channel_video_title

  • 0:42 is a sad, sad, but truthful statement. I don't let Facebook ruin my life, but I feel sorry for those around me who use it religiously. So much more out there than social networking, like the friends you grew up with next door.

  • thumbs up if you shared this on facebook

  • When i watched this video a ad for facebook layouts popped up lol.

  • Hello Alex great video i will be using this for my thesis presentation which will be on Facebook and the new consumer, however could you please provide us with your references to all the information posted on the video? Thanks!

  • I would like to show this in a meeting, but it's just a tad too long. Is there a shorter (1 min) version? (I realize it's funny to say 1:45 is "too long," but that's my reality for this audience. :)

  • I would like to show this in a meeting, but it's just a tad too long. Is there a shorter (1 min) version? (I realize it's funny to say 1:45 is "too long," but that's my reality for this audience. :)

  • hey bud nice video can I use this on mynew facebook and youtube course ? would be very much appreciated indeed, kind regards Louis :)

  • Anyone knows which font is used in this video??

  • can i ask you from which sources did you get these information?
