I Still Got a Jukebox Zen I actually turned one into my first external Hard Drive i think it was 32gb ,but my friend thought I was being all McGuyver .Anyways still Runs in 2011 so rock on.
never rly had problems with creative i just love the soundcards the are the best!!!! :) headphones and speakers are good to but the mp3 hell no sounds so bad the older models of them was better xD
I've been using the Audigy/Audigy 2 Zs platinum line for years now - still works great. AWE uses sound fonts (wav tables) to produce very good reproductions of instruments, etc. Since Chris seems to be mainly into Apple he has no need for Creative products. Luckily for Creative Labs, PCs still make up 90% of the market. He does make a good point with regard to Creative's software - it's not very good...
I had a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtrememusic until yesterday when it broke. Running with my onboard AzaliaIntel High Definition Audio and it sound almost better than the Xtrememusic did ^^
Random question here, but is it possible to build a GOOD desktop, just the desktop e.g. case, CPU, video card, sound card, etc...for under $400? Nothing really fancy when it comes to the case or cooling system (liquid cooling), but some ups^ on the CPU, and video card, without sacrificing too much on HDD space, and some cheepo motherboard. OK its out, any responses would be appreciated.
Yes, go half Ebay half good online retailer. Buy motherboard and memory from retailer as you have better fallback if its broken or doesn't work right and the other bits from Ebay, set budgets for every part, give it time and it will work out fine. I built a decent PC running Ubuntu for around the equivalent of$250 adding a non manufacturer specific copy of XP from Ebay is only around $50
I like past Creative hardware. Here in Croatia, iPod and Apple hardware are very expensive. Very much! So I bought Creative Zen Nano Plus 1Gb 4 years ago (that cost 220$). @Chris: I don't get you. You could only sync your mp3 player to WMP or you could access mp3s over the Explorer. You don't need any software at all. And 8 years ago I bought great 4.1 surround sound from Creative that cost around 100$(!!). Quality is great! Today here in Croatia iPod Shuffle 2Gb cost 220$!!!(?) I hate iPods.
I only ever used their sound cards. Never had a problem with them in my custom pc's, but being a mac user chris.... I guess that limits your customisation [ correct me if i am wrong in saying this]
I personally like Creative, I've got a creative sound card as I have 7.1 creative speakers which would be a waste to use with on board audio. I like both the sound card and speakers, I'm also planning to get a creative zen. However I've never owned another brand of speakers or sound card so it's kind of hard to compare them to anything.
He had the Creative Zen Jukebox. I had the 30gb version and it served me well for the time. It is primitive compared to the stuff we have these days. I hate to admit it, but he's right: if you have a mac or a ipod/iphone. You don't need anything creative offers. Though I still use their sound cards for my pcs.
I have a audigy 2 zs and it works great. the eax console makes music sound like 20 times better they just need to learn how to make stable software.
when enabling and disabling EAX enhancements since the card can do eax for music and on a game at the same time
the EAX console likes to randomly crash with a ntdll.dll error which is very annoying and has been reported to creative by many people for the past 4 years and creative doesn't seem to care. thus the problems never been fixed.
I agree. I don't know whether we have the same mp3 players (mines a 2GB Creative Zen Stone) but I think they're durable, easy to use and have awesome sound quality. Not many other mp3 players can boast a speaker louder than that of the average mobile phone either
This was the most geeky video, and abstract i have ever seen my boy Pirillo get down. In the beginning God created the cosmos and Chis Pirillo. The oldest geek i know. COOL
i own a creative mp3 , 2 sound cards and speakers. all of them sucks. my muvo mp3 player dies in less than 3 months, my 5.1 speakers now is a 3.1 speaker appearently 2 died lol. the sound cards is still working but then there is no point to it cause most mother boards offered quite good quality sound and i am no really a gamer so not much need. anyway creative service is not up to par and i dont have to explain why. ps i am a singaporean lol
Ive had 3 SB Live 5.1 sound cards 8 years ago, served there purpose, now they dont like any of the computers in my house, detect/wont detect half the time and studders now. Onboard is the way to go (maybe not for some but at least decent sound)
i bought the Creative Zen and it was good but the software for my computer was bad so used windows media player but after that i got my self an ipod touch and now i dont know where is my zen.
I have the creative zen stone plus with a speaker built in. I have a hard time turning it on, and the integration with mac is god awful. I really enjoy the fm radio, its screen, tiny size, and how great it is for exercise. Like Chris said at 9:33 the user inter face is bad.
Part 1: with my experience with creative, It just isn't good, I got an Mp3 Player Zen thing and it turns off after every song or even during the song, I tried new batteries several times and even with new batteries it did the same thing. After that I don't use Creative Products anymore.
Part 2:Now i use my Nintendo DS, I bought a games n music card for the DS which is about $20.00 in Wal-Mart and a little more online. B ut with the Games n Music card you can put music games videos and applications on the Nintendo DS.If the music is not the right type you have to download ds organizer and play it with that, the only bad thing about the ds is it is a bit hard to figure out, but once you understand how to do it then it is really good.
I haven't used there Soundcards in years (486 days), but I have found that the onboard soundacards that come with most motherboards today have been more than acceptable quality wise. Also Creative speakers, I just don't like, they sound weird, Sound artificial? like they are trying to create sound?? its hard to really put it into words, but I prefer Logitech Speakers.
i have a 512mb creative mp3 player that i only use for podcasts on my morning drive but its over 5 years old, been through the washing machine, and dropped on a daily basis and its missing buttons but it still works. so yeah i say creative makes good products
not anymore. creative drivers on 64bit OS are the wrest. i have and still have but do not use the X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Pro and the X-Fi XtremeMusic pci cards. i also have the Creative Nomad Jukebox 2 mp3 player, used it for a year or so. i am done with creative. wasted to much money on ok hardware and sad software. wrest drivers ever. onboard sound 5.1 works for me. no more creative now that i am on 64bit.
RealtekHD is..well okay it isn't Creative but for most situations their HD solution. On board is pretty darn good!
And that is the issue the only person who is going to buy a creative soundcard now..ends up being one of those.. pro gamers that haven't yet switched to console!
I've to the creative webcam and the mp3 player. I love the software that comes with it; so many good things for a musician including being able to change files to any format. cool.
I liked creative. I use the Creative Mp3 Zen V Plus player and the Creative Web Cam Pro. The software with both are ok. Thanks for posting. Long Live Creative.
I bought three Creative MP3 players way back when, because I thought I'd be anti-establishment and go against the iPod. After struggling with product support and the fact they always crashed, I switched to iPod and never looked back.
The monopoly Apple hold may be tiresome but at least Creative doesn't put out firmware updates that actually bricks your player then doesn't acknowledge, remove or apologise for it at all.

I had a Creative Zen Mirco, worked great, software was okay, but the headphone jack crapped out on me.
I got a Zen Mirco, worked great, sucky software, then it got stolen.
I got a Creative Zen (just the Zen) Best MP3 player i've had yet. The software sucked but that's okay because I was use to it.
then I got a Mac, and it doesn't work with macs. So I got an iPod.
and damn, i've been missing out.
